Meh it was meant to be single player. i don't know why we cry for more single player games then try and turn them into multiplayer. The gamers really don't know what they want anymore. i enjoy it as a single player i wouldn't mind like a 1-4 co-op but 200 players on this map that has nothing for multiplayer. meh
until there's a bit more to do i don;t mind it being single player.

Definitely not my idea of fun, but I find anything modding related interesting, as a tech nerd, even if I don't ever want it to use it myself.
That's the entire point of modding, to make a game more fun for yourself, bugger what others think about it, this is cool to see it for those that find this fun..
If I want to play Elden Ring, and one shot ever boss with my magic, the "git gud" crowd can kiss my Dark Elven Ass, "GIt Bored" to death by melee combat is not fun for me.

One thing I don't get is modders can make single player games into multi-player games but when the game devs do it its riddled with bugs and dam near unplayable
It has more bugs when the modders do it too. They are reported as much because way less people play modded games than officially released projects.

Let's put that into some context.
When you look at some video games, it's not often the case, Skyrim for exemple has a coop mods but it's very clanky and does not perform very well, same with Cyberpunk 2077, even though the mod isn't out, it's a pain in the ass to make. I'm no expert in the matter, but my best guess in the matter is that the engine used play a major role in facilitating developping such mods.
Skyrim and Cyberpunk are running on proprietary game engines (Creation Engine and RedEngine respectively), Hogwarts Legacy is running on Unreal Engine 4 which is alot more documented and got a bigger community to make stuff that can be reused in games and mods.
But modders seem to make it more buggy than the original game wdy?
Even if they finish this with no NPCs or Story stuff it could be the base for quite a huge RP server where the players create the content and the server is just there to support them. Provide some interactions. Commands for certain things. Maybe some custom NPCs for shops and stuff.

I disagree only in commands and etc. Can we just play the same that simple game, like it is, but online. Like we can go together to just flying around on brooms

This has such potential like a possible quidditch addon and maybe even duelling properly etc can't wait till this is done

Also make the forbidden spells not work in dueling. Man this game could’ve done much more.

Imagine Dueling, with everyone using the same spell and talent tree overhauls? So there could actually be a variety of different build paths and spell combinations instead of just everyone spamming the same meta tactic. There could be guilds/gangs/clubs or whatever and people could fight over turf in the school. The potential for this is crazy.
@@leonoriega5416 well the forbiden spells could still be used but similar to in the movies the spells meet in the middle and say something such as button mashing determines whose spell overpowers who, so it means you don't have to use a forbidden spell even if your competitor is
Its amazing what a bunch of people can do in the modding community. They manage bring the best of those games and im all for it. I believe this can get even better and I love this idea of having so many people in the school, just like the movies.

forcing a server to show players is not the same as creating an entire game experience around multiple players, having it be fun, challenging & balanced.
HWL is a 1p game, it does not in any sense work to have multiple people together.
they would have to rework most of the game's systems to truly support a polished end result.
@@FractalPrism. This, I agree with everything you said. Turning a 1P game into multiplayer is definitely not as simple as having players run around in your world. The entire codebase was developed with single player only in mind, it's virtually impossible to convert such as a massive game like this to multiplayer. To get a multiplayer experience, a real one, they would need to create a new game and design it with multiplayer in mind.
the leaps and bounds this game is making in possibilities is just astounding to me. especially in how short a time. I can't wait to see what future enthusiasm like this will bring.

I definitely think this should be limited to like 40-50 players but looks super fun
I'd say 80 to start with, or even 60. But as more updates come out to improve the cpu capabilities to help with the mod, increase it.
@@majisaka2626 it's not just about optimization, you have to think about the content itself being effected like if you have to go collect a certain material you won't be able to because there's too many players in the server also collecting those materials
@Juicy Lucy that is a decent point, but to be fair the mod itself will still be getting updates to counter that sort of thing. Nor do I know how to mod, as I am a happy ol console gamer.
The less the people would definitely help. But being cut down to 40 feels limiting as the map itself is MASSIVE. Especially if you're only using a broom.
The fact that all the players are rendered in 24/7 doesn't help either lmao

@@Juicy_Lucyy The game world is actually very big though. If there was more content in the south sea and other more "empty" parts of the map, and the mod stopped rendering players that were out of sight, then it could very well fit hundreds of players.

That's very impressive. Also makes me think how much RP as a genre is becoming more and more visible in the mainstream.
From what I could see it sort of started with DayZ and Garry's Mod, then Arma and GTA.

You know what, modding community are fantastic when it comes to games where people are like "This should of been included" then the modding community come along and just blow everything out of the water and make the game 100x awesome. I feel like multiplayer SHOULD have been a feature added to the game on release. Now we are seeing a mod application come out to make that happen and prove that it could of been done from the developers. I think the modding community should just make games from now on.

This looks pretty good for an almost 200 people stress test. With time i see it runing servers of 30 to 60 people pretty smooth
Oh yeah, definitely! They've already mentioned plans to optimize the servers by limiting the range that they can render players. So you may see 200 player servers just with better optimization

It would be crazy if we had an event like the hogwarts battle from the movie. Players versus NPCs or even PvP since we have access to dark arts in this game and that enable us to choose our side.

It will be interesting to see how far this is allowed to go, because I'm sure they have some of these same ideas for the future. If the combat system starts to get overhauled to actually make duelling other players possible, or soemone actually had the ability and resourses to program Quidditch into the game, will they allow that to happen? I would probably agree with them as well if they stop it.
As far as I know WB games has allowed most mods except for the one that gave us PC players access to the exclusive PlayStation mission lol.
The improvements that I'd recommend for the mod would be decreasing the players to a smaller number like 60 or 80. Its still a good amount of players but if its cpu heavy, it could help having less players.
But, from what I've noticed there isn't anything related to PvP combat. It is a very early build, and I get that. But it should definetly be fun for all of us wizards to fight with the most of their abilities. Especially when the AI at a certain level becomes easy.
Maybe even the ability to make parties to make it easier to find your friends if they're doing quests in different areas to progress in whatever they're trying to achieve. Might even speed up the final boss 😂
Just whatever happens, do NOT let players drop items for other players. It would just cheat out the game. Sure we wanna help our mates get through quests, but giving them 25 healing potions is a bit much. The base game still needs its challenge aspect. Especially if players are trading items as like clothing and shit. Especially with the enchantments you can put on it. Imagine a level 5 with legendary gear 😂
Finally, I want to emphasise I know the creator for the mod is NOT the youtuber but the actual team behind it. This is more of me just adding my input on the mod as a whole. I encourage any feedback as this would not only improve the mod itself, but also general opinions are helpful.

How does The Room pf Requirement work? Considering it is generally personalized to the player, I would assume it just shows as the host. I am curious though, with no native multiplayer in the game would it be possible to make a system in which players invite other players to their personal room i.e. GTA online's interior buildings? I would guess that is out of reach but it would be really neat.

We need a versus mode…
Each player can utilize any spells their player has and anything in their room of requirement.
The battle field is the castle itself. Your team is whatever house you’re in. The objective is to sneak into all opposing common rooms and steal a flag or banner. First team to have all 4 house banners back in your common room wins.
If you have Unforgivable curses each can be used once per game. Also add the ability to fly and use the wand on your mount. (Just have the rooftop courtyard door blocked going into ravenclaw common room)
Or have an all men for themselves in the open world map, including hogsmede. Just shrink the open world to the Hogsfield regions north of the castle and the forbidden forest.
I just want to play co-op with a few friends. Start missions and proceed together

Although I can't play, due to me being on Xbox series X, a duelling system would be a good addition once spell synching works. Head over to where crossed Wands is at and just duel each other. Obviously Ancient Magic, the Killing Curse, and probably Imperio wouldn't work well, but the rest should.
I definitely think a fight club in the crossed wands section would be amazing! And you're right, they'd have to limit the spells lol

even as someone who had no hype for this game, I found it interesting to think about an mmo - like harry potter game with hogwarts being the main hub, and was severely dissapointed it ended up being a linear single player game.
Would be awesome to get this ironed out and start seeing RP servers like RDR2 and GTAV
Even if they did what COD does (afaik) where they somewhat reduce the graphics/ details in certain areas for miltiplayer modes, to the point it runs smoothly and still looks great but is just more capable of having multiple players online at once. Definitely need a quidditch mode tho!

it sucks that a bunch of freelance devs have to be the ones to make this multiplayer, when that's exactly what so many people wanted for the game from the start. I don't think the game _shouldn't_ be making money off the communities hard work, but at the same time it does feel a little weird the makers of the game can save all the money by not adding that feature or compatibility, and then profit off the community having to work to make the game they want it to be.

Yep! when I last tested it, you have to remove ANY mods you have installed for singleplayer, and even reshades too. But that may change as it gets developed

It's going to be a lot of CZcamsrs against each other low levels and high levels with every spell broom flying plus don't forget to unforgivable curses but what about the voices

Ark Survival Evolved only allows 70 players and starts lagging at 30 players. You run risk over heating your PC's when push rendering. Mostly though Ark failed to realize that speed was a huge factor. Adding fast pets caused issues.
I think, yes Player Lod limits, for when there are a lot of players around, [not rendering the further away ones] and a quality lod [disabling physics on players clothes & hair when there are a lot of players around]
We could be looking at the next big RP Game in the same way GTA5 ended up being.

First they are going to prepare the base fundamentals, to keep the game stable + synchronization across the world + players.
Next in line is probably a programming language API. Like FiveM/RageMP for GTA V
That's exactly right! The devs have stated that they are working on a FiveM style server configuration in the works too!
The reason I didn't buy H.L. is bc it wasnt going to be multiple.
In my opinion, it would be a great game if it was an MMO RP (where you attend classes which in return gave you missions/quests to either practice spells (using right joystick to flick wond correctly to cast while chance % increases over time from repeated use.) or making potions by have to gather ingredients around the map/school.
Also access to the library to increase your knowledge/capabilities would be cool.
Energy & hunger stats.. anything to give the game an immersive role playing experience.

im starting ot think im the only one that didnt have any problems with this game even Day one, most i had was a little fps drops but it was playable and pretty stable, im not on god hardwear i was using a I7 1070k and a GTX 1060. maybe im super lucky with these things.

PCs are amazing! I built mine about 6 or 7 years ago, and I only use my consoles for exclusives now, because PCs can do so much! :D
