The fact that a RTX 4090 of all cards is using DLSS at 1080p, just made me realize how ridiculously overpriced high end pc parts are. DLSS at 1080p for THAT performance? jeez, high end pc market is really a weird place.

Wow, the 4090 does NOTHING to Remnant 2, without Framegen it's the exact same as my 3090 at 1440p, I've limited the game to 72fps at 1440p with DLSS on Quality and Ultra-settings and it stays on the 72fps, if I unlock the fps it fluctuates way too much. The hell are we supposed to do with all those 4k 120Hz / 240Hz -monitors?

waste of money ... your cpu is too week ... upgrade ur cpu and you will see a LOT OF FPS .... with 13700k + 4070 super i get more fps ... instead of buying 4090 for 1080p is alwas better to upgrade cpu .... 1080p = CPU 4k = GPU

to be fair i kinda do not see too much difference between 1080p to 4k, i mean it looks better but is nothing i care enough, specially when 4k games do not reach good FPS without using the DLSS, i prefer real fps at 1080p instead of the generated in 4k that make the quality looks kinda shitty in some things making kinda pointless the 4K resolution for gaming

Actually as seen in most parts of the video the performance is NOT CPU limited (in the classic sense that the whole CPU is used very much and the GPU therefor only a little as it does not get enough work to do). BUT it might be CPU single-core performance limited as many cores are low on usage (but none is close to 100% so this might not be the case). Also many games today can not use a high amount of CPU-cores leading to some cores with high usage and many with little too no usage, this also leads to a limited utilisation of the CPU in general. There could also be a thermal limit which prevents higher CPU usage especially because of the heavy usage of some cores or a power limit because of the power supply... It is not really clear what is exactly happening from the given information but the currently most likely guess is that in most cases it actually is some kind of GPU-limited.

I think people forget just how mind-bogglingly, stupidly fast new GPU's like the 4090 are. Half of these games should be easily pushing 200+ FPS WITHOUT frame gen or DLSS. Unfortunately, modern games completely brush off game optimization like it's nothing because they think these new technologies and cards can handle it... they can, but these should ONLY be supplemental, not a reliance.

It's sad that technology just isn't there yet. I personally prefer 240hz min. Maybe in a couple of generations we can actually play these games at that, without shader stutter. Here's to hoping.
