In my leagues, his right hand would be grabbing your left and right when you go up, his left hand would swipe down usually hitting wrist and maybe ball. Any way to show the refs that you are getting fouled?
I used to shoot floaters a lot in HS even in practice cause I’d get past my dude and be wide open for the layup but get scared seeing the defense running at me. IMO 1v1’s at the park taught me how to score more then organized basketball did cause they see you as a scrub and don’t try to develop you like they do the kids that been playin since they were 5. I probably lost 50+ consecutive 1v1s to my older friend but he always said if he took it easy on me it wouldn’t be fun and I wouldn’t get better.

Cradling to the chest is on of my favorite ways to pick the ball up. Not flashy but effective when the rest of the fundamentals are good.
