No perverted comments, no sexual advances. Just wants to spend time and talk to her. Wholesome.
He did kiss her without asking and she was clearly made uncomfortable by it. She forgave him and chose to move on with the date but it still happened.
@@lizardlegend42 Only kissing though. Still nothing sexual. Sure, it was non-consensual but at least he apologized straight after she said no. He was just naive about love.
He is a seventh day adventist. Thats the difference, you are looking at.
Ugh, but the "spending time and talk to her" is a covert sexual advance but not a perverted one. Its a nice one. The man knows its a sexual advance, the woman knows it too. When a man is asking a woman out, he wants to have sex with her. She knows this and he knows this, its a mutually accepted comfortable silence. No woman accepted a date with a guy she wants to be friends with.
@@Amathylar yeah, it's subtlety, they both know they want sex, or that the man wants sex
"What's the difference between an artery and a vein" is the most real question ever
One carries blood to, the other away from, the heart.
The "a" in artery stands for away, it moves blood away from the heart. The vein moves blood back to the heart.

More proof that Hacksaw Ridge is not only a great war film but a great film overall. I love how romantic, innocent and naive Desmond is. This is exactly how they shouldve played Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Hes not only likable as Desmond Doss, hes downright adorable. And thats coming from a straight man
And he is very right about her. Teresa Palmer is just so beautiful in this movie
Peter Parker is written as a highly intelligent and introverted. The guy being played here is more sweet, naive, charming and loveable, but he doesn’t come across as the classic high IQ type. So I think Garfield played Peter Parker and Spider-Man quite well
Young peter parker is an asshole though. Socially awkward maybe but highly intelligent and kind of a dick is what peter parker is. Not Desmond.
@@86sineadw Yeah he always got more hate than he deserved and despite how the movies turned out I enjoyed watching him as Spiderman and was happy when he got his redemption in the recent live action Spiderman movie.
Gayest thunk I've ever heard a 'straight man' say. Come on now. Out the close you come.
the way he looks at her at the movies literally kills me!!! Ugh so cute!!!
What a doll she is. Warms my old heart to see the young people.

Only hearing that sentence makes me cry
"Please lord, just one more" *** you weren't far off.

imo, the kiss was an honest mis-reading of the situation on Desmond's part:
TLDR: He did something she didn't like, but didn't make excuses and was very attentive to how Dorothy responded--proving he wasn't thinking about just himself. It's not always about how you slip/fall, but about how you recover (bla bla bla, platitudes)
Long answer for how the kiss (while not received well) does not make him a creep:
1) When someone feels entitled to something, if they don't get it (or if they have it taken away), they get angry/bitter/offended--he didn't show signs of any of that--again, imo. His entire demeanor seemed genuinely surprised and embarrassed.
2) He let her take some space and didn't approach her until she asked if he was coming (although it probably wouldn't have hurt to get out of the road sooner)
3) He didn't try to twist the events to help his ego. No defensive nonsense like "Oh stop complaining; you know you liked it," or "What, I'm not good enough for you?" or "Wasn't even that great of a kiss anyway." He didn't tell her how to feel, or accuse her, or insult her. His responses were humble. There's a huge difference between "You didn't mind" VS "I'm sorry, I didn't think you would mind" and "You liked it" VS "I thought you'd like it." One carries a worrying amount of assumption, the other is an offering of one perspective in a story that is understood to have two sides.
4) It seems to be understood that (for the rest of the film) he doesn't cross her boundaries like this again. She is uncomfortable/frightened with him going off to war, but I hardly view that as comparable
There will always be entitled people who put their wants and feelings above others--but what makes someone a "creep" seems to be how they feel entitled specifically to romance with someone and everything attached to that: attention, exclusivity, intimacy.
Social clumsiness doesn't make you a creep--but creeps love to claim "Social clumsiness" to excuse their behavior.
I think you described it perfectly!
This is so spot on!
Come give your brother a big hug😂😂

The mans got infinite rizz
Teresa Palmer was breathtaking in this.
Praise God I have a man just like this! Been dating 7 weeks and today has been the best day by far! Ladies, respect your men, and they will do wonders for you! Make sure you choose a respectable, honest, responsible, and kind man that will treat you right! Don’t settle for a bad boy. They never work out and will always be narcissistic and players. Very rarely do they change.
nice guys don't impress them enough
Nice movie
She is so beautiful
It would be wonderful if you would provide captions.
What's the music on the theatre video?
"Yes, I am "dating" Dorthy" (With what? Carbon 14? "No we are"seeing" each other" "can i SEE her also"? No, I mean we are an "Item"...""Item on a list"?

I don't know about all these comments. I watched this not too long ago and he seemed like a creep.
No he saw other guys did it and took their advice she corrected him and never did it again but his was just out of ignorance and innocence it’s like his DAD taught him how to talk to women or treat THEM and he was genuinely sorry he didn’t act entitled he just did not know he made no excuses and didn’t do it again that’s all that matters..
never ask a girl, just go for it if the timing is right.
Why is everyone calling it Rizz? Gosh, this generation is disappointing.

That’s southern dialect lol. It’s not race specific.
Its a southern accent.
African American culture came from the south.
Come to Russia 🇷🇺 guys..we still have such a culture..My husband were dating me for 4 years before my "yes" to marriage (we are 40 both).. and no kisses on 1st date..and people are not kissing each other at a movie theater... and no gay allowed... I think our country is the last who is stand for normal normality I would say..
NNNN
"Rizz". Not swag anymore, but "rizz". Language is getting dumber by the day with the last 2 generations. What they don't realize is that in 10 years only the older people will know what each other is saying and they'll talk to each other and just give dumb looks back and forth.
Bro mad cuz he ain't Otto von Rizzmark
They're both just shortened words. Swagger and Charisma. If one was dumber than the other, I'd have to say I'd prefer to have charisma over swagger.

just glad the younger men are finding this gem of a film.
it is what it is ultimately.

Lord God,
Can anyone explain to me - like seriously - why Gibson didn't hire a REAL Virginian to play Doss?
Garfield is British . . . *forehead smack*
Surely, amongst the TENS of THOUSANDS of actors LIVING and BREATHING in Virginia, he could have found a TRUE SOUTHERNER to play . . well . . . a TRUE SOUTHERNER
is his entire crew really that lazy? and inatttentive? how disappointing. i truly am . . disappointed . .
He did a great job...infact doss's son was moved by his performance...so pls... appreciate andrew
