I was working in korea as an english teacher when this drama was popular. I travelled there with my first long term gf. On an icey winter evening, i was at school making materials for class. The heaters were off and the school was dark and empty. we were both wearing big winter jackets in the classroom. My gf had finished her work already and was just hanging out with me. She was listening to this song, writing the phonetics on the whiteboard, learning while singing. I looked over my computer at her from time to time and i felt so happy and grateful towards her. 5 years together. Growing up together through uni. we were changing so much, but also outgrowing each other...this was the moment i knew, we were going to break up soon. Before we left the school that evening, we sat on the tables and looked out at the winter night, and the full moon, in a warm embrace. Even if i wanted to break up, I still wondered if i would ever be this happy again? We walked down the frozen hill and back to our flat, and tried a new flavour of instant ramen sitting on heated flooring. My ex sang the song again, having learned it all. A year later we broke up. The relationship and the breakup, changed me forever. This song always reminds me of that time. First love is the happiest, but also the saddest.
I'm going to dedicate this song to my bias when I'm getting married.

As a Soldier in the U.S. Army, I spent a total of 3 years in South Korea. I first heard this song while there. It was played on the radio, used for a daytime soap opera, and embraced by so many. I imagine each had their own reasons (lost love, North/South, or whatever). For me, it was a beautiful voice singing a beautiful song; it's one that I don't think I'll ever forget.
Everyone will have this kind of love at least once in their life. Either you have had it already or you have yet to experience this kind of pain. This song is very deep and meaningful. Thank you for uploading it.
