Good stuff gents, conditions looked tough but you guys managed well!
Just a recommendation for Joe, he should definitely get some proper riding boots if he's going to continue riding the harder off-road tracks, the other gear isn't really important but he definitely needs a pair of riding boots (preferably MX boots but ADV boots are better then runners!) 👍
Thanks mate. Definitely tough but heaps of fun. I had heaps of other footage but the lenses were all fogged up and ruined half of my clips 🫤
100% 👍
It's so easy to twist an ankle.
After watching your vids i bought a drz 400e from a dealer in penrith and have to say the drz is the most fun i have ever had on a motorcycle
Awesome mate. I bought my from Westerns in 2017.
Had mine for a year now, great fun bike
Joe - I’m new to adventure riding and want to learn.
Lance - ok, let’s go do some steep tracks and water crossings up to your knees.
😂 great ride boys 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hahaha yeah I kind of threw him in the deep end literally and figuratively. However he absolutely smashed it. It certainly was meant to be an easy ride though 🤔
😂
I came off my bike at least 50 times just watching this from the comfort of my couch 😅🤣. Joe absolutely smashed this trail for a newbie, he will become a pro adventure rider real quick 👌🏻.
water...pool noodles or a couple tire tubes inflated, tied to the bike and use as a raft. Back when I was a wee lad, I would love that...now, older, a good dirt road works for me. We hear good reports of that big bore kit...east coast of Canada. Keep your feet on the pegs and your right hand cranked. Thanks for taking me along for the ride.
Mate you can’t go wrong with the big bore upgrade. It’s a beaut.
In a situation (river crossing) that is difficult and stressful its best not to say "Go go go" 12:49 Two different times.
Also when passing a new rider on that rocky area dont stop where it is hard for him to stop behind you. give him lots of flat ground behind to stop. He didnt want to crash into you thats why he stopped on the rcoks and almost fell over. MOVE out of the way. 10:00
I've got your rear end. Geez ya just met the guy.
Nice day for it lol. Great little looking area to ride
Great video as always Merry Christmas
Open Roads rally ran most of those trails in November, some good riding. That first crossing was deep then but looked even deeper now in your video. A few bikes got drowned that weekend
It’s an awesome place to ride. Mate I was close to pulling the plug on the river crossing. An inch higher and it wouldn’t have been possible so I believe.
Have you done the carby beeather mod? Quite few DRZs (mine included) stalled out in the middle during the Open Roads!
@@paulhubbert7840 yeah it’s a must do for the DRZ. I learnt the hard way many years ago.
Got to do those crossings on the open roads rally , they look about the same depth but more intimidating with less people around haha, Cheers 4 sharing sir
fantastic video 👍
wet suit and snorkel 😆😅😂🤣 whats to not love about riding
Remind Joe to tighten his left rear view mirror please Lance 😂
any plans to complete the canning stock route ? keep the comedy up and happy new years
Absolutely. Just not any time soon. It’s on the list though. Thanks legend.
Bloody hell, noob is keen to ride, let's do some ridiculous hill climbs and river crossing.
The boots tho.....
Seriously, good effort Joe.
Yeah he was a much better rider than he gave himself credit for. He will be a gun in no time.
Very brave of Joe to attempt those river crossing, they were proper mental. Its been said already but he needs some better footware! Are there any of your subscribers who might be able to help him out with an old pair of Enduro boots they have stashed away in the garage gathering dust?
Mate I’ll be passing on the comments to him. I use to ride with the same gear until I saw a bloke rip open his calf muscle from a stick. The older I get the more gear I wear.
@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Exactly, it’s an expensive ‘hobby’, bikes are pricey enough without all the protective gear but unfortunately it’s a must if you’re doing this type of off-road riding. Hopefully Santa will bring him some decent Enduro boots. 👍👍
Great stuff Lance! @Joe, spend a couple of $$ on some decent boots.
Haha yeah he was rocking some runners. I had to laugh as I wore the same when I started out.
Yeah please buys some proper boots Jo - maybe you get away with that footwear commuting, but you fall (even at zero speed) on a rock - your leg looses in any fight, when it’s stuck between a rock and a bike. Trust me your off-road career is off to a great start - don’t end it early - get some proper gear !!
Nice day ride. Hey Lance, may be you and Josh both can start an adventure riding club and take newbies out for a ride (literally) .. Let me know when you have the club, I will come all the way from India to join your club.
Joe, get some proper boots Son.
Joe needs proper boots!
Hey mate, thanks for sharing. Could you please tell me which software you're using on your phone to navigate?
Thanks!
Thanks for watching mate.
I use ExploreOZ Traveller app. Only new to it but absolutely love it. Aussie owned and operated product to. 👍
How good are the DRZ! I'm sometimes tempted to change my 300 Rally back to one, after i ride my dads new one.
They should bring out a rally fairing pack and they'd sell even more.
There are good. I’ve had mine for 7 years now and still going strong.
Nooo not Sally!? I'm too scared to watch the video tell me she's ok..
Well she is still running. So I guess it’s all good. 👍
terrible stock brakes? you've got the same brakes as every japanese 450 motocross bike.
Then mine need some love.
They are much lighter
@@krisdieber9459 not enough to be an issue they can still lock up the back tyre even on tar or do a stoppy
Is he endurp riding in runners?
WTF? Get some offroad boots for gods sake
