    My mom brought one of the first kigers to Ohio. The model used for Spirit is Sunny’s uncle.

    Ron Harding in the 1970’s with the BLM created the Kiger Mustang from 12 different HMA’s and put them on Kiger and Steens HMAs. Many other mustangs were later and still are added to the mix to increase adoptions

    The horse would be pronounced "Kinger" not ky-ger. Going back to the roots of this breed. It would be pronounced as it would in spain. Kind of misreading to people and the history. No? :c

    ALL mustangs have Spanish (Andaulusian) blood and all horses can have the dun factor effect. These are "grullo" mustangs.

      karan corey these are a specific variety that has been fairly isolated from other mustangs. Not all mustangs are decedents of the conquistador’s horses

      @@staceyhastings626 Are they or do these mustangs tend to be inbred from being isolated from other horses? How did they get their name?

    • @PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs
      @PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs Před 4 lety +3

      They got their name from the range they run. And certainly not all blood contains Spanish blood. Many are horses that were not used anymore since the advent of the car tractor.

    • @PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs
      @PahaPoniesSpanishMustangs Před 4 lety +3

      They don't tend to inbreed as the natural course in the family band is for the stallion to chase out the young at weaning time... Or shortly there after.

    • @ktgodwin100
      @ktgodwin100 Před 4 lety +1

      I was told that the true mustlano (mustang) is from Spanish/Andalusian blood the other horses that are now wild are really feral horses that were released by ranchers and God knows who else anybody who didn't want to take care of their horse... and they became feral but they're not considered a true mustano .
