The Maker's Mark Cask Strength is a wonderful pour; I've preferred it over the Weller 107 in several renditions I've had; plus, I can buy it off the shelf. The Private Select offerings are the best kept secret in the Bourbon World. I buy them every time I see them. It's fun to see just what people can bring out in flavors by changing up a few staves in the barrel.
wuhuuu guys, just on a "after 1 year re-run" of all bourbon guild videos I just did I got curious and googled what the hell happened to you and I had to do more than few links and clicks to find this new channel of yours. So first things first, great to see you back! And now to the more serious stuff, your new channel is so well hidden that you better do something about it. Spread the info into the forums, into old threads where people asked why you've stopped, into all previous bourbon guild videos, support your channel by supporting other, more established channels already there etc. etc. etc. Your content is great, but with this channel name you really need to give it the right marketing push.

I completely agree. I was searching for more Bourbon Guild info for a long time and never would have found you guys again if Dutch hadn’t randomly popped up on a Bourbon Junkies stream. Love that you’re back and putting out content.

Also, I agree about the name. Booze Bro's, Spirit Guild, Guild of Spirits, whatever, but this name is just bizarre to me, especially since it looks like just about all their videos are about booze...

Great lineup to compare. I’ve only had the original Makers which sucks pretty bad, so am glad they’ve got these other higher proofed, wood staved versions to try.
Love Makers Cask and 46 Cask. I did a blind taste at home and found that I still prefer the regular Makers Cask over the 46 cask. Both are awesome.

As I try more Whisky it seems that I really mesh with Dutch in terms of agreement on what's good, nose and finish characteristics that are being picked out in your videos. I saw this selection of Makers at Costco just the other week and I have been wanting to try a nice wheated Whisky. I can pick it up for a song when compared to others like Weller and Pappy. Although I can get Larceny and 1792 in most places I wanted to try something a little more limited and higher proof at a decent price.
2nd video since I rediscovered you guys and I've noticed that y'all learned how to pour whiskey without spilling. Lol
I usually have some Makers on my shelf but am currently out. I guess I need to make a run to the store.

Right now, Henderson, NV Total Wine has barrel select 123.3 cask strength available. I think the one Dillon is referring to (131.6) was available about 3-4 years ago at Bevmo. The highest i've seen was at bevmo near me (in the last years or so) with 127.2 barrel select but gets sold out quick. You have to get the barrel picks (regular production is lower proof)
Great episode. I got bored with the standard Makers expression, but I am going to try some of these higher proof varieties.

I switched from knob creek to makers mark cask strength
Makers set the box up left to right on how you should have done the drinkthrough.

If you don't like the normal $20-30 maker's mark, switch to other brands. The only brand I received multiple complaints from my guests(both Cask Strength and Private Select). And I personally agree with them, not good to begin with, then gave me bad tastes lasting for a few hours.
