How to Apply for the Internship
All Eligible Candidates Can Submit their Application Through our Website.
• Complete and submit an Online Recruitment Profile, a CV/Resume, and a Cover Letter. The Procedure is given below.
• Go to the UNICEF Internship Page
• Select the Contact Type “Internship”
• Select Position Level “Internship “
• The applicant must create a relevant application according to the vacant position like his/her skills, strengths and suitability.

But what kind of works will we be doing there ? I mean I have seen some of my seniors who are just in their freshmen year and already got internships in big companies like Google and Worldbank. So, I am sooooo curious what will we exactly be doing? And what if we didn't know how to work?

I interned with the UN for a year and here are my thoughts on it.
- A cover letter and CV, as well as all other documents requested in the notification, are required for all applications.
- Because most roles are international, competition is fierce; the key is to keep applying regardless of the outcome. UNDP India Country office has a lot of openings.
- Not all UN agencies provide stipends, check before applying. Do not be hesitant to accept an unpaid internship within the UN; what we gain in terms of learning and building our CV is enormous.
- Travel is not always required; many internships are Home-based. This was more common during Covid, but most employees now work from offices.
- Every profession has an opportunity here. IT, law, public administration, business management, GIS, human resources, textile designers, journalists, language specialists, graphic designers, photographers, international relations, doctors, health care agents, statisticians, technicians, drivers, and so on.
Some reality checks.
- Master's or graduate students have an advantage over Bachelor's students.
- Applying will take longer than 10 minutes. Make sure to carefully read the notification and frame the cover letter.
If your profession is specialised, look for your area of expertise such as the World Health Organization (WHO) for doctors and Healthcare professionals.

@@aryakumari1187 Graphic design is usually part of the Communications Unit. So I recommend going to UN careers websites and doing a word search for 'Communication.' Read the section titled 'Duties and Responsibilities.' I am sure you will find something.
Do we need a passport before itself we apply for such jobs?
@@blessyelsajose6818 Yes. It is mandatory in case of remote or on-site internships. This is a list of documents that the UN team would typically request:
- Bank details (only in case paid internships)
- Copy of your university degree(s) or school transcript
- Proof of medical insurance for the duration of the internship contract
- Medical certificate of good health
- A letter of reference or endorsement from a faculty member
- A scanned copy of the biodata page of your passport

Obviously not everyone needs engineers. Almost all industries requires backgrounds from business, economics etc. Every single organization needs managers.

A lot. UNICEF does a lot of water/sanitation/education infrastructure. Search for WASH (the organizations acronym and you'll find areas that might interest you).

I got a decent scholarship at a private engg college because of my entrance exam scores. Did some industry projects in my first year. You get plenty of free time in college.

@@hyperterminal_reborn but i dunno about internships. You need some exceptional achievements in your field and in extra curriculars, afaik at least. I don't think they care about internships, cause technically even when you're writing your SOPs for these Ivy Leagues you arent thinking about jobs, its mostly about research/innovation. (your test scores and your board marks absolutely do matter too)
