Her eyes look like they’re made of stars. What a gift she was.
I noticed that, too. They're twinkling. Great clip.
I was just thinking that....
She‘s probably high😅
Perfect pitch, no autotune here. Just like Judith Durham, The Seekers. Pure talent.
@@McJordan20and still killed it . Can you imagine ?
That is so lovely. why do singers have to think singing means being so over the top, big notes, loud voices..this is like a butterfly on a rose.
Not all singers…
Like..
I mean depends what is being sung.
Because music sucks anymore.
I know I will get some blowback for this but Whitney Houston's version of "I will always love you" is an example of too much for the song being sung. Just because you can belt it out doesn't mean you should all the time. If you can't stop yourself, choose your songs wisely.
Ok I know this sounds how it does, but singers let out crazy notes and volumes because it’s a thing of skill. I’m definitely not trying to take away from Mama Cass’ performance, it’s probably my favorite version of this song, but it’s actually really impressive when singers can make their voice crazy loud, or do insane whistle notes, but it’s just about time and stamina. This is a goal for a lot of new singers, because it shows experience.
Can’t believe she was only 32 when she died. Such a shame. R.I.P Mama Cass
She looks so young here.
I feel the same, but just so you know, she was known to have hated to be called Mama Cass. She felt it perpetuated the Big Mama stereotype. She's just so amazing.
She may be dead, but she's still voting (for Democrats).
She looks 52
I love how she opens up to this big sound, then brings it back down to a soft-spoken style. She brought so many layers and nuances to this performance.
Amazing Voice. I think she could have even been in a duet with the Legend FREDDIE MERCURY🐯🐯💍💍🔱🔱
You nailed it, Jon!
And she had great mic technique as well. A real pro
She was incredible. Another one with that control is Linda Ronstadt. Another powerhouse.
CZcams sent me here automatically from hearing Doris Day sing it. So funny. While listening to Doris I was thinking I wanted to hear Cass's big voice.
To bad people focused on her size. They missed her incredible voice. She was so amazing
the bad people are those who turned a blind eye at her apparent victimhood.
whut?
@@shananmurphy9275 yeah !
She had a big powerful voice
i dont think this is true.......most people loved her persona and her voice....never saw her size
This was HER song. She had such a romantic voice. The music world lost a fine singer when she passed at so young an age. She would have been quite a shining star for us all.
Hello Anna, How are you doing?
I think “Make Your Own Kind of Music” is Cass’s signature song. But this one is definitely #2 on the list.
She was a shining star while we still had her. I miss knowing what other art she would have made.
Yes! And I think that song came out in like 1938!? She's killed it! We will always remember this song for her :-) and her for this song (but not just this song)!
@@desireerutten yes it was on boardwalk empire. Great song. Part of the show was set in the 20s and part set in the 30s.
You can't even tell when she's taking a breath she's so flawless.
It’s called breath support; people who make breathing/gasping noises are singing from their throat and not from their diaphragm, which is how you control your voice, give it support, and make it shine; your throat is really only a conduit, so it comes out raspy and gaspy.
She’s not signing in live , however she had a beautiful voice
@@DieFrauHuI This is for sure live

Aside from eating that cheese sandwich, I agree.
I don’t care what size she was, that’s irrelevant… she was feckin amazing. ❤️🇬🇧
Truly one of the greatest singers EVER! Still love her voice today!
Well you do care cause you just said something about it
If her size was so "irrelevant" to you WHY MENTION IT???
she was the top of woman singers in the 60s and 70s😊❤
Her size was widely commented on and ridiculed. It’s well documented she hated her weight and was teased for it. OP is just saying they don’t care about her size, her voice is much more significant and important
She made singing look effortless. She had an amazing voice!
Hi Trish
A defining voice of our generation.
Así es, bella voz, inigualable. Ahora estará cantando a otros ángeles como ella ❤️🌺🧡
And an amazing girth as well
@@philipgermani1616 I agree and what an impact she made with the Mamas and Papas. Forget the Beatles and Stones. The Mamas and Papas had the best voices of the 60's. The music has lost a great talent. She had a wonderful voice. I could listen to it for hours.
To those who say Mama Cass was overrated. Just listen to this. She had “it”! In spades! RIP angel. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
She definitely wasn’t overrated. If she was built like Farah Fawcett, the same people would praise her voice.
Sadly! She couldn't Pass up A TRIPLE' HAM' N" CHEESE!! SHE CHOKED TO DEATH. 😢😢😯
@@captainamericaamerica8090 - Not true. That was a nasty rumor that got started because there was a half eaten sandwich on the table next to the bed. There was absolutely nothing lodged in her throat upon her death. The actual cause was listed as cardiac arrest.

Yes, back when BREATHING was important and SCREAMING in microphones was not ?
NO one should ever sing this song without giving credit TO Mama Cass...using her pictures etc. I tried...but I don' t like "hearing " singers EMULATING HER.
I think the la de dum dum's were Cass's musical/instrumental additives, i.e., "arrangements" she wanted to hear played by other instruments; I think she loved each and every note of this song, and was adding her personal touches to it continually. What a unique singer. RIP Cass.
God, how I would have loved doing a duet with this lady back in the 70's!
Too Little Too Late, ah...

The real vocal talent of this group! So beautiful 😻
I was 14 when she passed away…her passing broke my heart. It’s wonderful that this forum allows more opportunities for us to witness just how good she was!
I was around 12. Really strange being 66 looking back back. A fast changing time.
What a GREAT VOICE. only she could sing this. She had an incredible voice!!!!. So underrated. Beautiful voice, beautiful person. RIP MAMA. GOD BLESS U. .😇😇😇💖👏👏👏😥😥😥😥
She set the bar so high I'm sure not many even try to do this song because they might always be compared to Cass. May she R.I.P. knowing how beloved and missed she is.❤️
She was beautiful in side & out❤❤
Not really .
One of the great singers of all time. Grateful I was here during her short time with us! Can’t help but wonder what more she would have done! Miss her!!!
50 years have passed and i still hear this song every day.
R.I.P. Mama Cass.
...Remember the " Spirit" never dies.
HEAVENLY...Still...
One of those situations in which, the song becomes synonymous with the singer. Can't DREAM without thinking of Mama Cass, anymore, can we ? She made us feel we were all up there dreaming along with her, didn't she ?
Singing a memorial to her is almost a "sacrilegious gesture" isn' t ?
I meant only respect for this beautiful lady.

Too Little Too Late, ah...Of all of the songs out there from the 70's this is one that SHOULD be sung in Italian, French and Spanish too?

She was certainly brilliant live. I'm so glad this performance was preserved.
