  • Short video discusing how I modified an available bushing, since the proper bushings are not available except when purchased with the arms (at like $100)
This is my first video, so cut me a little slack :-)

Thanks a bunch. I did just what you told me and it worked perfect. I needed to fix it quick as we are in the middle of a snowstorm and I need the 4 wheel dive. Thanks again !!!

Thank you so much!! Your much better at wielding a box cutter than me! I had an easier time cutting the slits with a dremel. The noise my wipers were making before was excruciating, but it's so much better now!

Great fix!!! First try it didn't want to fit. I needed the shave a little more around the outside and open the slits alittle more. I used a socket to pound it on with a brace underneath and wah lah!

Well, it is back together, it works excellently. I used tiny c-clamps to help pop it back together incrementally. Just a hint for those struggling with pushing it in. It should last a long time. This was a $4 fix compared with a $100 fix for the arms. Thanks!!

it works i just did the repair on my old Forenza it takes a little soft hammering for it to go in in my case i had to remove the entire mechanizim and press it in. it might be a old video but it save me $89 dollars.

I got it together with the new hacked bushings. It is very snug and the mechanism moves stiffly. You have that experience at first? I haven't turned it on yet. The window is off the vehicle. I just want to be sure it is right be fore I put it al back on the vehicle.

Wanted to let you know that Suzuki has been making that same plastic cup that broke on your car across the board for all their models. Go to a junk yard, open any other Suzuki car and get that same plastic bit and you will see its a perfect match. Same bit for all Suzuki cars...

As mentioned in video, these came from ZOR. Most Samurai aftermarket providers have them. Google is your friend.

    Hello Gordo
I have a 1988 Suzuki Samuari,,, what year is yours...I have been attempting to locate wiper motor,, they told me its behind glove box on passenger side.. I dont see it..I think it on driver side.
any tips please advise. Thanks in advance.

I have an 88 as well. It is more technically above the glove box. There's a 8" or so beauty cover that you can pop off from the dash right next to the windshield, you'll be able to see it from there. FYI, replacing it does require unmounting the whole dash, and disassembling some of the air conditioning ducts. On the pain-in-the-ass scale I'd put it at 8.5.

@@jamesscholz8338 @Gordo the Wood Butcher the video shows he removed the windshield, not the dash. What year is the Samurai from the video? I wonder if I can remove the windshield too. Mine is an '87.

@@dariom8729 I think it is better say that we folded down the windshield. I couldnt say with confidence what year the one in the video is, but mine was an 1988 1/2 with a tin top. I needed to remove my dashboard to do the job, my windshield did not fold down.

I did use lithium grease. I realize now that the surface I was on was gripping the wiper posts. It does a little easier now. I think the real issue is someone needs to laser print the originals out of a different quality of plastic. The originals are too hard and crack easily.
