How many random missions just walking around the city's keeps you entertained for hours. I actually met the hunter in a bar before NG+ and didn't even realised till then. And was shocked when I realised. The scope of this game is amazing
The last time I paid attention to a review was in 2012 when every major site said Dragon’s Dogma sucked. The destroyed the game for reasons they praised Dark Souls, which I found odd. A few months after it launched, I said fuck it and tried it. I’ve played it dozens of times since and still play it to this day sometimes.
Earned a subscriber. Echoed things I’ve been saying about this game since it’s early access. “If you like Bethesda games, you’ll like this game.” And that couldn’t be more true. I find myself really enjoying exploration. I’ve barely touched the main story, I’ve done a few faction quests which were very interesting. I just don’t understand how people are saying it’s “empty” because from what I’ve played, it’s anything but empty. It’s slower than most games out there. You really have to pay attention and read things in this game. It’s not a fast paced game. Ajd I think that might have alienated some of the people who were hyped. But I don’t think it’s the developers job to adhere to peoples ridiculous expectations that they’ve drummed up in their heads.
Right, it's so forced too. Having spent hours playing Fallout 4. And now hours in Starfield not only have improved the majority of systems from Fallout 4 and even scrapped some of the crap ones, but this game has even more rpg elements than any Beth game has had in a long time. Hell the entire Ryujin industries questline is more of a corpo questline than the actual corpo origin in Cyberpunk 2077 was. It's a shame such a gem is being blasted. Hopefully with time things will change.
I’d agree with a 9 rating. Might even do an 8.5 if we are speaking objectively. I personally give it a 9.5 for my tastes, but no game is perfect to everyone so an 8.5-9 on average is more than fair for what the game offers. They posted a thing on their Instagram of all these outlets giving them game a 10/10 or 5/5, which did seem disingenuous to me, especially coming from outlets that should be trying to give an unbiased objective review and grade. Most I’ve seen rest around 8, which given the scope of the audience next to the expectations, an 8 is a solid score and knowing Bethesda with mods and dlc support, that score can only go up from here.
It’s a fantastic game! Bits of Astroneer, Mass Effect, shorter loading screens, fantastic story telling, great and always rewarding loot system. With countless encounters, all engaging and fun, a ship building game close to Space Engineer, there is so much that won me over in this game. This is the best Bethesda game since Skyrim by far. Fallout was a glitchy fanboy series, Starfield is incredible!
Thannnk you. First person I've seen make these arguments. I've been throwing my hands up at reviews for this game all week. But Bethesda gets attacked everytime they make a game, so it's unsurprising.
game is absolutely one of the best games I've ever played the large scale of it is insane, I think I spent like 4 hours taking a vanguard tour mission loved every bit of it. the amount of detail both in the environments and in the world building are incredible.
The only problem I have is that I can't play it. I play on PC and use a 4K 43" TV as my monitor and because of that the game locks my resolution at 4K. Most of the games I play do not do this and the ones that do are old enough that it's not much of a concern but with Starfield it's different as even high end GPUs are struggling to stay above 60-80 fps. So for me with a 4K TV and a RTX 2060 Starfield is currently unplayable.
It’s not unplayable, you just won’t compromise with changing your screens resolution. If you right click and go to desktop settings you have the option to drop it to any resolution you want. I can understand your frustration but that’s still manageable. I see the appeal of your setup but it in itself is a bit unoptimized. What are you running CPU wise?
As for skills. There is 2 ways already to fix that. One is a mod that gives you a 400% experience bonus fir q4 hours. By taking a nap. The second is new game plus. Finish the main quest then restart with new game plus. You start a new game with all your skills from the last.
Starfield doesn't meet my expectations after 25 hours. Its buggy, not major bugs, but a lot of minor bugs that are irritating. No hdr or brightness control option, all the colors washed out. I should have to apply my time to color filters to get a game to look normal. It seems like a lot is missing and feels incomplete.
I think the argument a lot of people are making is that all the things people complain about can be easily resolved if BGS moved on from the Creation Engine
And they shouldn’t move on from the creation engine. The less engines we have in the gaming industry the worse it’ll be in the long run. They built this game the way they wanted to. The modding community would also never recover from losing this engine and would likely die like every other molding community. For every person who complains about a “dated engine” there is 2-10 more that would complain if they did replace it with something even if it was Unreal.

It's not a bad game it's just a typical bethesda RPG as usual. What is bad is optimization on PC, and absolutely braindead combat AI which let's be honest is something bethesda has in every game since oblivion and they do not improve it. It's a fine game but there is definitely stuff that is wrong with it and no ammount of bethesda quality content can save it.
Performance isn’t “bad” on PC I believe it just has a lot to do with the generation. The game automatically accounts for hardware and resolution differences in what would normally be a awesome implementation but us marred by the fact that you can’t turn it off. In turn it allows just about any hardware to run the game at nearly 60 but people on high end systems get bottlenecked because the game keeps pushing till it’s only CPU bound making it still target the 60FPS. I’m sure they’ll open up granularity when more of the public has a chance to try it and or mod it out.

To be fair I’m sure it’ll be up there in the nominations but who knows if it’ll win. Bethesda has had games that launched in a worse state win and we only have so much coming out this year. If it doesn’t win I don’t care either way. PlayStation fans have the majority of the votes so we could definitely see any PlayStation game walk away with it simply because they didn’t get access to it

It makes me think you are blind to how bad it is and I am not talking graphics and bad optimization (could not even play it until I installed it on my SSD) Quests are boring, some dialogue is pure garbage and makes no sense at all, enemies are just stupid, etc. I really was excited for this game (I have most of their games), and hey, if you enjoy it... Optimization was done in a particular way but I think that has more to do with some automated scaling of settings in the background from what DF said. Your not giving specifics about the dialogue you encountered. I would agree that when you do a side faction missions some AI doesn’t remember that but it could be a story reason. You came off as too strong acting like someone who is just a hater. That and you called me a troll right off the back. Not a good start

Listen, if you enjoy the game I am really happy for you, I enjoyed Fallout 76 for a few days, the thing is that the SSD requirement is bull. As for the dialogue I can only remember the one if you choose to have parents. No one knows you have joined or are in route to Constellation and yet when you reache the HQ you have a message from your parents and if you go visit them the dialogue is horrible. (This is all that comes to minde after 7hrs trying to build a ship and corridors not connecting properly. Also, no real choice in this story, just the illusion, and after playing Baldur's Gate 3 I am really disappointed story wise. My opinion is that everyone should get a refund and maybe wait a few more months for a proper release, the "it's a Bethesda game" argume is not a valid reason to accept such a game for such a high price and from such a big company... By accepting this shenanigans they will understand that this is ok and will never truly fix it (just installed Fallout 4 a few weeks ago, clean, it crashed after loading into the world...).

You get district choises with consequences multiple times in the story and each of the faction story’s. And the sooner we transition from HDDs to SSDs the less bloat we will have. The reason the game is only 117GB is because of the SSD and not having redundant files. If it was optimized for both it would have double the space so not bull.
They are two different games dude. One is an RPG and the other is a Sandbox game. They have some similarities but they were never going to be the same. Say you have never played the game without saying you’ve never played the game.

@@mariov6048 it did t even take me an hour to get hooked because I just went a way I felt like going and it led me on great adventures. It’s a role playing game with lots of questions to be answered with the great expanse of space at your fingerprints and if YOU don’t like it that’s fine. You own the game or have access to it so I’d recommend just playing here and there and at-least try the factions. A few extra skill points to start with can go an extra mile too
