    I would argue on the cast iron pans. There is a layer on top of the iron that forms from continual cooking, so the odds of iron getting transferred to the food is pretty small. If someone was testing, they probably wouldn't test a seasoned pan. I ruin one of those non stick pans in about a month.

      Typically, running a calorie deficit will eventually get rid of belly fat. You *could* use a calorie tracker for that and it's what I do. I have succeeded in the past getting rid of belly fat. Key is getting at least 1500 calories though, and ensuring all nutrients are consumed in enough amounts. Diet websites like cronometer help that.

    IMPORTANT Q!: Is it true you need to avoid pairing CALCIUM + IRON and CAFFEINE + CALCIUM/IRON (just in natural food sources)? It's easy to take my tea an hour before and after meals, but it's much harder to avoid pairing calcium with iron since I eat tons of foods that are high in both, sometimes within the same food item.

For example common combos like steel cut oatmeal + almond milk wouldn't be optimal if that were the case, nevermind adding cocoa nibs. Or plant-based protein powders + almond milk. There are many inconveniences in meal planning if there are significant absorption issues from food sources of iron + calcium pairings.

    Here is the easy answer - eat less than what you are currently eating if you are overweight or obese (BMI>=25). But don't eat less than 2000 calories. If you are overweight or obese even after eating as low as 2000 calories, you have to increase your physical activity instead of eating any fewer calories. That's because even if you eat nutrient dense foods, you may not get adequate nutrition if you eat less than 2000 calories. And if you are underweight (NMI

    One thing I always want to know from every webinars and videos of dr Neal bernard is that he says (keep oils very low). Well what is that exactly? How much is considered oils low? How much is allowed? My biggest trouble is cooking without oil. I find it difficult when it comes to sauteing garlic etc. Love his videos but really would like to know. What about is ( keep oils very low)? One teaspoon of olive oil to help saute, is that an OK?? I've lost 40lbs on a mostly whole food plant based diet. When I say mostly is because I had my falls but Will definitely continue this path. I still have this oil doubt. I know it's liquid fat and not good but when I use a teaspoon to sauteing or roasting veggies it's such a difference.🤔

    Question?...foods 'in season', read somewhere...example; that you shouldn't be eating 'summer fruits' in the middle of Winter, as the brain/body will 'think', hey! it's summer! & start to do the processes associated with eating fruits in the summer...
    Whereas, when Winter arrives the 'body', naturally 'closes up' & moves blood to protect the 'vital' organs, the reason why the 'extremities', hands/feet gets cold first! & the aches/pains in bone joints/muscles, as the body 'closes up'...
    Therefore, should, only certain fruits/vegetables be eaten during the yearly 'seasons'?

    How come if the insulin receiptors are blocked by fats, that they work again when injected with insulin?

    • @ladiebug395
      @ladiebug395 Před 3 lety

      I think you may be getting types 1 and 2 confused. They're discussing type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes works in a two-fold way--the pancreas starts to produces less insulin and at the same time the cells don't respond to insulin (insulin resistance). So for someone with a severe case of type 2 diabetes will sometimes inject insulin to add more insulin and hope their cells respond to a higher concentration of insulin, even though they are insulin resistant. People with type 1 diabetes produce no or very little insulin, but their cells respond to insulin just fine, meaning they inject insulin everyday. Type 1 diabetes isn't controlled by diet, only insulin injection. Only severe cases of type 2 diabetes inject insulin; most people with type 2 control their diabetes through diet and weight-loss.

    • @Libb-oleffub
      @Libb-oleffub Před 3 lety

      @@ladiebug395 controlling their diet? If you mean eating less carbs and more fat, that is making you more diabetic, but showing less symptoms. So that is not a cure. And there is at least one case of someone who cured himself from diabetes 1. He started to run marathons. Anyway, eating saturated fats and trans fats and cholesterol is causing diabetes. So that is the first thing you should stop taking if you want to cure yourself. If you take insulin, your body stops making it. But my question is why people with even diabetes 2, who’s receiptors are blocked, find relieve by injection of insulin. So you are saying; more insulin will eventually make the receiptors work again? Dr. Neil Barnard is comparing the receiptors with a lock that has been blocked by chewing gum (fats) so if more insulin is used, the fats will not be able to block it any longer.
