- Valentina Lisitsa performed Liszt La Campanella from Paganini Etude No.3 at Concert hall, Seoul Art Center, 25th November, 2013 under Masters Series which Composer Jeajoon Ryu present.(Encore after 3 hours recital.)

Liszt was such a kind man, he always made sure that none of the notes felt left out
😂👍
so underrated :D
The piano maker gave you 88 keys - Might as well use them all.
Surely for the notes he was a good man.
For piano players however, that's another story
he had us in the first half ngl
She did this after a 3 hour recital! What a performer!!!
that makes it way more impressive than it already is...
czcams.com/video/MD6xMyuZls0/video.html hear her when she is fresh.
She's just amazing!
@Ada Hahaha
You can tell she was tired towards the end. Trying to rest her arms. still AMAZING performance.
Some people are saying about wrong notes, which honestly, is a testament of how she is still human, and i love that. As it has been written numerous times on recordings with wrong notes : "To play a wrong note is insignificant - to play without passion, is inexcusable."
She made a mistake and kept on going like a queen
Love the Beethoven quote!!
yeah she is a human she can miss notes and also she is playing really fast so understantheble
sorry i whrote understandeble wrong i dont know that much english
@@nhatnguyen-bj2xc Yeah, Queens do that
bravo
She plays and makes it sound like flowing water. It's amazing. I love La Campanella, such a great masterpiece.
Hello
2:56 yup
I love the smile on her face. She's really enjoying it. When I play guitar my face looks like I'm reacting to a smelly fart.
we'd like to see that, please. :p

Brings out Liszts philosophy that piano is played with ten fingers, not two hands.
Yeah, he can play with his fingers, and not his hands.

Why Do You Refuse
Before descending to the world, you made a pact with the Creator
When Dafa is spread widely, make sure you are found
I tell you the truth now, why do you refuse it
How many people have their minds filled with the lies of the persecution
Kind people, don’t go along with the propaganda
The path we take is guided by Gods
To save people is my promise to Gods
Before the great disaster comes, we must seize every minute, every second
To save people, I do not fear ridicule
To save people, I do not fear brutality
Only when all beings gain the Fa will my wish be fulfilled
Only when all beings gain salvation will my wish be fulfilled

A Dream From Long Ago
I’ve been searching for that dream from long ago
It was like a fairy tale, yet incomparably sacred
At that time, I signed a contract in heaven
I kept descending, just to fulfill my mission
Reincarnating again and again, lost in the sea of suffering
Finally that distant dream becomes true
The Creator has come to spread Dafa, saving beings to high levels
For this I came down to the world to wait for the Fa
I have fulfilled the contract from a prehistoric time
What is taking place is not a fairy tale
Many people have the same dream as I

I Help You Cleanse Yourself
Dafa disciples have told you the truth behind illusion
Those truly poisoned are the mass of people, including you
Believing the lies, you will disintegrate along with the red demon
Telling the truth to save people-this compassion comes from my heart
Reaping no reward, I often get up early on cold days
Having no time to eat, nor rest in steaming hot weather
To save people, I withstand terror and pressure
Since I promised Gods to wake you up in the time of danger
You came from heaven, and gaining Dafa is your purpose
That will help beings in your paradise escape calamity
This is the reason for your descending to be human
Do not let the red demon brainwash you with Party culture
Beings in your paradise are longing for you

Master Li Hongzhi (Hong Yin IV, from Falun Dafa teachings)
How Humankind Came To Be
“...Since it’s the new year, I should have said a few festive words that everyone likes to hear, but I see danger is getting closer and closer to mankind. Because of this, Gods and Buddhas asked me to tell all beings in the world a few words that the Gods wish to say. Every word reveals heavenly secrets, and the purpose is for people to know the truth and be given another opportunity to be saved.”

Why the Creator Seeks to Save All Life
“...The Creator is the Lord of all gods in the cosmic realm, and He is the maker of the Lord of all lords, and the King of all kings. He commands all beings, including all humans, gods, and things in the Three Realms, which He has created. His love is the ultimate holy grace for sentient beings! It is the greatest honor for the world’s people to be loved by Him!”

it's like she's caressing the piano and the piano is purring back in return
I actually met her today. She is very kind and the most important thing she taught me as a piano player is knowing how to communicate with your audience. Breathe and flow with the dynamics of the music. Don't be afraid to express the music to the audience.
Ian Cunningham are u glenn cloud?
Ian Cunningham where did you meet her????
She came to my college for one of her tour dates and my piano professor decided to ask her if she could teach a master class for me and the other piano majors. So we all met her and learned from her.
Ian Cunningham omgggggggggg
Ian Cunningham WAIT WHAT. YOUR SO DAMN LUCKY..
I love the audience when they knew she was going to play La Campanella! 😂😂😂
yaah
And then her "yeah, it's this one" face.
Ryo San lmao
Mighty Irishmen haha this exactly!!!
Yup .. I watched it many times
one could argue this speed is a little bit too much, but I have never ever seen anybody playing this piece with such virtuosity. Just extraordinary.
Check Evgeny Kissin’s version. He absolutely destroyed this piece.
@@sparklegirl19Valentina plays better
Knowing Liszt is a beast, he'd probably play this piece with Valentina's or even higher tempo.
すげえ…
こんな早いのに音がパラパラしてる…
The beginning applause lol
+Ben Kim It's like, "Oh, shiiiit, she gonna play that one!? Daaaaamn!"
😂 she's just like yep
+Ben Kim She Plays it on most of her concert after the normal Programm. It´s like "her" la campanella her Interpretation is unique (like from all pianists) but her is very nice. When i was twice to her concerts and one at a place she played first time, they they haven´t applaused but at the place where she has been before they have done :)
She played this piece on a street piano one time, and there were some high notes which weren't tuned properly. ( /watch?v=ez_X4em2f9M ) now she can play it on tune o 3o
Im literally your 1000th like
LOL that "yup" face from her in the beginning was priceless!
Ikr
Ahhh man. Her interpretation is so haunting, delicate, beautiful, and she expresses this reallyyy unique kind of build up that really is her own. Nobuyuki's and Valentina's are by far my favorite La Campanellas, no matter how many times I watch either one I'm always in such awe by them.
Nobuyuki
Oh I agree , I love Nobuyuki’s version too. In awe of both these pianists interruptions ❤
I’ve watched her play this song multiple times and I’m simply amazed every single time. My wrists lock up just watching her play.
It's not a song - there are no words and nobody's singing.
*piece
She truly loves every single minute playing, you can see it in her face.
So would you if you could play like that.
Yes she does and I love watching her perform.
Well, You actually can't tell, since professional players HAVE to make that "oh wow this is so beautiful and easy" face and not "shit this is so hard, i'm literally dying out here, please send help" face. They're like actors, all for the audience.
@@hanaksc Thanks for the reply. Roger Camp
@@hanaksc where'd you get that from
czcams.com/video/0FbQZCsYXVg/video.html this legend here looks at war with the piano and it doesnt take away from the performance
With most pianists this sounds like a piano wanting to sound like bells. With Valentina it actually does sound like bells. Pretty amazing.
This is EXACTLY what I thought right after I heard her performance.
well because the title is translated to "little bells" so I guess she wanted to convey the same message through the piano, and she did a great job!
Oh well, if for you a Mess is sounding like bells then...it sounds like bells ( ranz- des vaches).
In fact From Italian to English --> La Campanella means LITTLE BELL (SHE CAUGHT THE CORRECT MEANING OF THE PIECE). I am Italian!!!!
Incribile/incrível, sehr schön
For anyone who isn't already persuaded by the mastery of her performance of what is uniformly considered one of the most difficult pieces in all of piano, compare this to videos of other virtuosos playing the same piece. This is simply mindboggling.
素人目で見てもこれほどまで凄まじいテンポで弾けるのやばいってわかる
Re: several comments about wrong notes. Liszt could hit wrong notes, which he referred to as "uninvited guests."
Fred XD
Every mistake has been carefully rehersed".
So did Horowitz.
I mean dont play that fast then
Frankly I did not hear any wrong notes

Audience: La Campanella ???
Valentina: Yeah, that's right.
Valentina is one of the brightest artist of our time. I always enjoy her flawless technique and musicality. She plays with her heart.
my hands, my wrists and my arms ache from watching her. What a virtuoso!! And her facial expression..... "I can do this all day long."
How to break your piano professionally
Lisitsa is a true piano fairy. Her technique is the most fluid I have seen so far. Love her to bits!
Oh look at Valentina sit back and smile at the finish. So happy with the performance and so she should be. Love her playing ❤

WTF!!! AWESOME! SPETTACOLO!!!
Un vero spettaccolo direi
@@artevichinga2890 molto impressionante. Leggo commenti che dicono "non e buona pianista". Simplemente incorreto. La mia favorita nel mondo delle pianiste.
She is musical magician.
Allan Stark ㅇㅈ
nope. its more like "let me speed EVERYTHING up and i'll sound impressive to people who know NOTHING about music" it's actually very easy to do with enough practice. but it RUINS the music
@@brillstrat1738 this is the actual Speed dude what are you talkin about
BrillStrat have you even heard the original. This is how it sounds like

Her fingerwork is so fleet and light. Fascinating! Mesmerizing!
Probably the best "La Campanella" performance I have ever heard or seen.
MrVoayer I totally agree! the best "La Campanaella" performance ever.
MrVoayer yundi li look him up
MrVoayer I prefer the guy who plays in the Roland LX17 performance. A bit slow, but for me sounds better. But I prefer Valentina's emotional performance with a bit slower playing.
I actually prefer Daniil Trifonov's interpretation, feels like he adds more personal touch and the balance between power and lightness, but she is also amazing
Trying to decide between her's and Kissin's
My oh my how I just adore that tone, articulation, clarity and real sense of fun and passion all in unison. I need medication after listening to this amazing rendition..where's that red wine!!
ONE of A KIND! UNIQUE! A BRILLIANT, Elegant, sensitive vibrating CAMPANELLA version!

Her performance tempo is blistering yet somehow still crystal clear. Impressive...
She is fantastic and that crowd at beginning and end, is a testament to how much she loved as a performer and musician. Bravo 👏
What a Joy!!!!! People understand and appreciate a Master pianist when they hear one. WORLD CLASS!!!!!!! Would love to attend one of her concerts....
Watching her fingers dance across the keys is mesmerizing. Amazing touch and dynamic range.
This was so nice, and just look how much fun she's having, that made me smile :) . That's probably what makes it sound so well.
The greatest thing of watching this in video instead of only audio is, besides watching the crazy speed and elasticity of her fingers, to see her expression of joy.
+Irtap
Her hands are magical. Artists like this young lady elevate the human species.
You’ve gotta put some heart into your playing. That’s the only way you’ll be good at piano, or something else entirely. Enjoy what you’re doing
I truly love her. She is so amazing when she pushes herself to do the imposible at the most difficult and emotional parts and SHE SUCCEEDS. Could it be that she takes all or nothing?
指先を見ていると演奏が難しい様ですが、音はとても優しく楽しく聞こえます。Valentinaさんの演奏は卓越しています。💐
I've heard this so many times - but never astounds me how such an incredibly difficult piece can look so "easy" by one so skilled. Amazing. I'm so jealous!!
まるで優しく爽やかなそよ風の様に唄いながら、流れるしなやかな指!その中を鳴り響く美しい数種類の鐘の音、口遊み乍らの表現。此れこそLa Campanellaだ。

I have heard so many performances of this piece over several decades and this one just blew me away. Brava, Maestra Lisitsa!
Just saying she really showing only how good is she, nothing else, her performance is low…
Try listening to evgeny kissin on CZcams he plays it much better, trust me
Just look what she said against Ukraine,

@@neilbronfer7170 "I have heard so many performances of this piece over several decades" should be a hint that I've heard Kissin. Also, what does her opinion on Ukraine have to do with the quality of her performance?
Also, watch her smile and have fun with this performance, while Kissin sweats and toils.
Валентина самая лучшая! Любим и уважаем в Болгарии!
That's one of the hardest pieces I know and here she is, having a blast and playing it like there's no tomorrow. BRAVO !!!
It is indeed a beautiful performance. It is the expressive power of the more incredible.
she feel the notes
marlo goop Sir,Good!good!! Thank you.
Oh I love this recording - the tempo is as it is intended. There are some wonderful other recordings, but often they are a bit slowe, and the theme, the Paganini Rondo from a violinconcerto is fast. And note how musically satisfying, fun, joking, the superfast passage is, the one at 02:10 - two-hand chromatic figure upwards to a trill, and then - suddenly the trill goes pianissimo and is waiting to explode! Love it.

ABSOLUTELY genius, she will be remembered for many and many more years to come, long after her existence on this planet. We are privileged to witness such talent.
Lisitsa blessing us with great tone as always! Thanks for posting!
This is incredible!! Her hands glide over the keys with such grace and precision and enjoying it. No score either!
I have watched this video a thousand times, but this time I decided to watch it only looking at her facial expression. It is so amazing how she enjoys the music, getting emotional in passages and singing the melody to herself that brought tears to my eyes once again
Resplendent performance. The dynamism in the hands and fingers is so stirring and impressive.
Valentina Lisitsa gives an enrichment of colour, light, rhythmic drive, balance and a beautiful monumental shot playing the
difficult and gorgeous 'La Campanella!'
観客が歓声を上げるの良いなぁ!

You know it's good when you only register the key changes on an emotional level. Respect.
I wish classical concerts and recitals would dispense with the whole etiquette thing of dictating to fans when to and not to cheer and applause. I know part of it is about not interrupting a performer's concentration or the natural flow of the piece, etc., but If I were the performer I'd be thrilled if the crowd was that excited.
I was there and her performance was really fascinating. She played this after three-hour recital and I think she must have been exhausted. Still, there's no doubt that this performance is awesome.
