While I understand making a 10 minute version since not everyone has time to watch 4 hours of lore , I still can't believe how good it was , it felt like a movie
I had it open on a second monitor and stopped whatever I was doing on the main one because the story kept getting better and better.

For anyone seeing this, if you got here from the yt recommendations, if you were at all intrigued, I HIGHLY recommend giving Kknowley's complete story of Payday a watch/listen. I know 4 hours can seem daunting, but it's 110% worth it

iirc pd3 is more like a retcon since it wouldnt make sense for the gang to return
@@bing4580 in the dev diary on the plot they said the gang had to get back into business since they had hits put out on them and their assets were frozen so I guess it’s somewhat a continuation of pd2
@@krzysztofpiasecki2550 it stills doesnt make sense since they are stupidly rich in the end, they have connections across the us and even the world. No one would be able to hit them or freeze stuff, not to mention bain is the president so they would be attacking him indirectly
I loved the development of the story from common rober to battling with immortal kings and the history of men. And all the small Easter eggs you could see around the world, was just perfect. And I hope they to the same thing with payday 3 humble beginnings and in the end we kick some nephalim butt. That is in my opinion the real identity of payday. It's not just a heisting game anymore. It grew bigger than itself.

Man, the Kento and Jiro plotline really was an afterthought towards the end huh?

As someone who had bought Payday 2 a few years ago, played it for few hours and never touched it again because I was afraid I would never catch up to everyone, its nice to know how it all started. See you all in Payday 3!

I love how we went from regular grounded heists and robbery to all this weird ancient occultism, and got a presidential pardon for the whole gang leading to a happy beach vacation ending.. Just to go back to heisting banks and jewelry stores again in Payday 3.. I’m just wondering how they’re going to tie all this back together, if at all in the new game. So far the lore and cutscenes aren’t really that great or deep so I guess we’ll see how things turn out.

Imagine making a cool cops and robbers game, only to be so creativily stifled for a storyline that you had to make it about aliens. Imagine adding meth production, then adding aliens. 🤣 Sounds like the devs legitimately had no idea how to end this game, or where it was going.
