      @@peterle8951 I actually still haven’t done it, haha.
      Got my fabric from a local “fabric land”.
      What are you trying to remove the old glue from? If it’s the door card, I’d say a bit of heat, goo gone, and patients.

    If you have a vacuum bag you can use that to hold down the fabric tight to the piece over night until the glue sets. Prior to getting a nice vacuum bag set up I used the cheap space savers to good effect for putting veneer or fabric on oddly shaped components.

    for that crease you couldve probably cut it a bit to relax the fabric like you would do for a wrap, but I'm just guessing

    Any idea why my alcantara on my door card inserts has come away and sagged? It was stuck down to the moulded panel for a week before it was installed. It was hot today I wonder if the heat has done something to make the fabric loose it's contact with the panel?

  • @Bawkr
    @Bawkr Před 22 dny

    Just made one with hot glue and some cruddy glue. I'm confident it might last awhile but it was pretty cheap. The old fabric was all crusty poked my arm on days where you want to hang your arm out the window.

    I suggest a air hammer air chisel thing to get the rivets off. So you don’t actually drill down into the plastic you need to screw it in.. maybe I’m just inpatient and special idk 😂

    I just did this. Red on a race red focus at. Vary vary hard to drill them out. And not take to much off where u can screw the wood screws in.. I had two screws barely pop threw. But the fabric looks great. I suggest a air chisel to get the rivets off. I just ordered one. Will probably get new door panels and redo it.

      @@Nickjoenap the fabric on mine ( rs mk3) detached and came out at the seam between top part and where your red starts. i just put glue and tried to pull and push it back in. end result is hard to tell but i got it just to line up at the edge. it is as if the fabric contacted and barely big enough to tuck it in again. i did not remove the panel

      Okie TC not sure, it’s technically microfiber since it’s fake suede but if one got stained I’d probably just replace it since it was so cheap. The adhesive might come off with chemicals I guess I’ll have to test it

      Castille soap and a boars hair brush. Super easy to care for. It will get nasty and grimy fast, but super easy to maintain and clean. I love alacantra and other synthetic suedes, but they are kinda high maintenance in touch areas.
