I think its more retail is dying. AAA is just going to change to target another group of whales.
They already have the whales in micro-transactions.
Why do so many videogames CEOs look like someone hit them, squarely in the middle of their forehead, like, harrrd, with a tack hammer?
The AAA games industry isn't dying, it's mutating.
Into an ugly, oozing, smelling pile of poop.
GameStop is dieing, so in turn the AAA games aren't getting as much hype as say COD: Black Ops 1 or 2 had with merch, midnight release partys, posters, exclusive content, and large amounts of product tie-ins.
Man I have some map packs in Black Ops and never had a good match making, I had to erase dlc to be able to play.
Very very curious to how cyberpunk 2077 DLC situation is it going to play out and the quality the bar of quality. What is that going to look like?
If the first one is anything to go by. Low.
