This Camp was in my early experience of car camping , when starting out it's a bit creepy, nervy for some and you are very hyper aware you are sleeping in your car in a public area, so of course naturally i found the approach of boy racers playing loud music in an isolated car park a bit nerv wracking , to those who think it's no scary that's fair , but i did ... therefore the title is accurate for this specific situation taking into account the above, cheers 😁
I agree with you I can't see how people can say it not scary. It's definitely scary for you. I could tell you were scared.
I'm just Thankful you got to the next spot safely and you didn't just give up and go home.

Just came across your video today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to see Castle Campbell again and the delightful path up to it. Husband and I were there a few years ago and it was a lovely day out. I think you were quite right to leave through the night because that could have been a drug drop so you just don't know what could have happened. Always best to err on the side of caution. I love to see videos of my home land and so I will be watching more of you and I have subscribed.

Ahh yeah Hot weather > Cold all day, it’s cruel I’m from Scotland when I love hot weather so much 😅
Simple stealth car camping, under the radar. The first time I came up to Scotland from Shropshire to do the NC 500 was in a Vauxhall Zafira with the passenger seat removed (somewhere to cook) and a proper mattress with duvet and pillows in the back - well comfy! I loved it, and did the same next year, might do it again soon. But I did it in mid January and I barely saw another soul on the 500 the whole trip. It was fantastic, and I absolutely fell in love with the place. I’ve got a little Citan van now, insulated and carpet lined in the back, same mattress setup, but this time I might mooch around the Mull of Kintyre, see what it’s like round there. The west coast around there is mind-blowingly beautiful, even in the depths of winter. Maybe it’s the best time of year to go, though…

If I lived or camped a lot in my car….and I pray one day I will…I have to say I’d have to put a thick rubber mat across my roof to smuffle the heavy rain. I don’t mind rain but that banging on the roof all night would keep me awake. I’d just have to snuff the noise a bit! 😆

You get some right weirdo's in the UK. Chavs, boy racers and dogging hotspots are best avoided. I live in Wales and there are woods behind my house with several car parks, you always get vans there. A few months ago in the summer we went to Gloucestershire and stopped in a car park to have food, and just relax. When it was dark, 3 sets of cars turned up, stayed 2 seconds and then left.

I live in a very tiny car so no privacy for me. My concern is always safety, I stopped in a lay-by literally for minutes and had a man walk up to the car and peer through my window.
I’ve had a man pull up right next to me at 2am staring, I put my headlights on then he puts his on. I leave then he leaves. Very odd.
Another in my local supermarket Carpark (at night) the same guy will park opposite me or behind me and just stare, I try to avoid that one especially if I see his vehicle I instantly flee.

Probably a dogger. People are weird, probably the type to park next to you in an empty car park.
Hey I can imagine how scary it is alone at night,I would bring a dog with me and a great tip from a lorry driver sleeping in there cabs at night.zThey loop there seat belt through the inside car handle then plug it in as you usually would, that stops people from getting your door open at night. Hope this helps.
I would Suso line my windows at night with silver screens for privacy,then other people don’t know who or how many people are in your car.

Pity you weren't able to see a number plate in the carpark. For them to turn music up loud, I wondered what they were up to. You don't know if a weirdo might've taken a teen up there or something...just a scenario but you might be right about smoking weed. It was a bit weird.
I would have though in Scotland that you could go in some areas and no see anyone? When I lived in England it impossible to be along. You find the most remote location and someone will turn up and just sit in thier car for 15 minutes with lights on full beam and engine running. I wish boy racers, doggers etc would just fuck off from scenic locations. The natural beauty is wasted on them, they litter and it would make no difference to them if they hanged around an industrial area. It's the same weird mindset of those who park next to you in an empty car park. Some of us want to get away from people.
I feel you, luckily more times than not I get places to myself in Scotland especially in winter, summer however is another story 😳

Do you like the CRV? Has it been reliable?
CRV was great in terms of reliability however mines was very rusty on the subframe therefore I was always nervous I was going to snap something (done it once before)
So if you ever buy one especially in UK check for corrosion, although that can be said about most used cars tbh
@@jackacook I know. Most are rusty now but some seem to be ok. I'm a huge fan of old Japanese cars and Honda's reliability is legendary. I'm looking for a CRV the same generation as yours. I prefer that shape to the later models and I think they're just more practical. If I can get a reasonably rust free example I'd probably get it welded underneath when it does go. Thanks for the reply.

Can you have weapons in Scotland I have all kinds of weapons I’m retired special forces and make my own medieval type weapons if you want to try some et me know you can just them souvenirs and they work great. I love the videos keep on keeping on

@@jackacook I knew there were strict laws, I trained with the sbs but you guys can’t have any firearms
We can have all kind of medieval weapons at home but being in a vehicle classifies as being in a public place so there we can't have so much as a locking bladed knife or multitool. At home is a different story, of course unlicensed firearms are not permitted and certain types of knives e.g. flick knives, karambits are forbidden. But like I said think medieval - swords, battleaxes, halberds, pikes, maces, morning stars and of course any archery gear are all fine. Some curved swords like Katanas are outlawed ''unless they are made by traditional methods'' heh heh so an old Naval cutlass which you can buy from antique weapons suppliers is fine. Most are unaware of this.

Yes I used to hsve a replica hand gun and I swear to god that kept me safe when I walked in remote areas with my dogs.i never had to use it but for some reason I just had the impression potential werdos just got the vibes and stayed away ......highly recommended .😊😊😊❤uk

Why is being in Scotland dangerous? Now I’m a bit confused? It’s more dangerous down in England than up here in Scotland. And just to correct you, castle Campbell is not in the Highlands, it’s in the central belt of Scotland ^^
