This weekend getaway painted the perfect Finnish summer: vibrant green forests, sparkling blue lakes, and summer sunsets around Finland's largest lake: Lake Saimaa.

Some munavoi (egg butter) on the top is my goto way of eating karjalanpiirakka/riisipiirakka. Although, fresh from the oven they are obviously great also without.

You guys should visit Savonlinna and Punkaharju. In Savonlinna there is meat pie called lörtsy and best one is Laurikaisen lörtsy.

One difference between karjalanpiirakka/ karelian pie and riisipiirakka/ rice pie is that in the porridge of the karjalanpiirakka cannot be used lactose free milk, since EU directives say that milk must contain also lactose. Hence the name "maitojuoma" eg. "milk drink/ bewerage" when the product is lactose free (Also other differences apply when milk can be called just milk) . If the piirakka/ the pie is made by using lactose free milk then it is riisipiirakka.
