This went up so quickly, you're all my heroes. This show is going to be epic, with Matt Mercer and such an awesome cast it's hard for it not to be. HYPE
thank you guys so much for always putting all your stuff on youtube... I can never catch live or twitch shows being deployed and I love watching all these when i have time, looking forward to the new campaign when i get home and love the new group, keep it up!
It's so awesome how people in this audience want to actually listen to the story instead of screaming bloody murder, like those other live events. Now you guys, that's the right way do it!
This is not guaranteed to work. Critical Role were all trained in improv, played for 2 years before streaming and long time friends before even that . These guys, while all talented in their own right, basically just met each other and yet things are working out BRILLIANTLY! You've made me way to hopeful for this series.
For a moment I thought Chris Hardwick was gonna continue the Gern saga, but then i remembered he was a necro-ish kinda pc. too bad i wanted to feel the #FeeltheGern again. Oh well.
So I'm sure I missed it somewhere but what day do these episodes start streaming and when will the schedule lay out what days we can watch? I just want to know where part one is and I can figure out the rest from there but I just keep finding "Will start during the summer" and "Will start in June!" but it's already half way through June...so....DnD plz?
Ugh having watched I wish they brought a (semi) serious cast of players similar to CritRole rather than this "Americans being Americans in fantasy land" trite. Can tell Matt is trying to do the setting justice but the players are just interested in forcing in comedy where it isn't needed. Shame.
No, I'm saying these players (apart from Ashley) are roleplaying characters who are American stereotypes - which for a fantasy setting is very immersion breaking. I know they're not all voice actors like CritRole but it's a shame as FR is my favourite fantasy setting and Matt my favourite DM, could have been amazing, I'll continue to watch and hope nevertheless!
oh my god I can't handle myself: "it's JOPA, you piece of shit!" :D "jopa" is literally "ass" in russian. fuck me, I really wanted towatch this show, but the guy's name is ASS! I don't think I'd be able to listen to it I'll die of laughter
What's more hillarious - the way he pronounces it. It is EXACTLY identical to the Russian speaker, moreover the emphasis they make, almost shouting.. It's golden.
nevermind, figured it out. This is amazing!!! I really can only watch the videos where people are sitting around an actual table. Something about staring into a camera on skype I cant immerse in. Anywho, on with the show!
Lords of waterdeep was inspired by this world actually, the world they are playing is vast and one of the originals this story takes place in this world.
I am pretty sure it is Wednesdays live on Twitch, not sure when it goes on CZcams. The live time I am not sure, might be 4:30 Pacific? Twitch link www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd/profile
I use to think that our games were special, apparently all games play out the same way..in that male gamers try and pick up the female NPC's! Haha. This video was great! Also, you gotta try and play things out in the most outrageous ways possible! We played Earthdawn though. :P
+jordanETshreve oh, he's the one DING Critical Role? I've heard great things about it, but I haven't listened to it yet. I've been giving God'sfall a little attention, which has been fantastic so far.
+SevSaint tell me about it. we had to clamp down back on people back when we had seven PC's. any decent battle would take over 45 minutes because there was so much going on. It was a logistical nightmare.
I'm currently DM'ing (my first time as well) with 7 PC's and we've never had a battle take less than an hour :) Our record is currently 6 hours for one massive battle that involved over 40 enemies, with the party spread in two groups across a castle (funnily enough, in-game the whole thing only lasted about 2 minutes). One thing I've found helpful is on each players turn, always let the *next* player know their turn is next, so they start thinking on what they want to do.
The audio needs some serious work. It's sometimes too quiet to understand and so loud it hurts in the same sentence. It's just wildly all over the place.
This isn't a game. This is actors reading scripts pretending to be in a game! Where is the virtual table and the dice so the audience knows what is going on? Now i know why WOTC doesn't have a virtual table of their own!
"I have the honor of establishing an elite team. Unfortunately, teams A through Y weren't available. So now it's you."
New series starts in mid-July with weekly episodes all summer.
what days and time?
Looking forward to that
Looking forward to this. I was a bit skeptic in the ignorance for not knowing all of the players, but the intro was awesome. Go Force Grey!
Well not to point out the obvious but it's June already. (when you posted that)
Is there any schedule posted?
sweet
Mercer is one of the best DM's in the celebrity business, glad we get to see more of him
THE best.
Anyone who liked Matt Mercer checkout Critical Role! Fuck I wished they payed me for that
*Have a piece of internet cake*
You need to pay them for droppin' f-bombs like a 12-year old...
Fuckin relax, it's 20 fuckin 16
Tazz EightSixFour Implying vulgarity isn't a part of communication? Dipshit.
No implication dimtwit, It is NOT a part of any semi-valid commentary... At least if you want to be taken seriously...
Glad to see Brian Posehn at the table with Matt Mercer.
He's hands-down the most prepared, polished DM I've ever seen. The group dynamic is great too.
Had a comeback for everything they three at him. I wasn't a fan starting this video I thing they just found a new sub lol
So cool seeing Utkarsh play with them so early on as I’m going back through c1! He was so great in c3!
I will watch anything with Matt Mercer in it
Matthew Mercer has a great voice.
you should look up the list of his voice works! ashley's too!
He has a 1000 great voices ;D
great voices
The first voice Matt does sounds similar to Victor lol.
Because it is Victor in disguise. he has to do something to get away from whatever is left of his shack.
It's clearly Victor's brother!
A joy to watch, and really inspirational! I'm so excited to see this!
This went up so quickly, you're all my heroes. This show is going to be epic, with Matt Mercer and such an awesome cast it's hard for it not to be. HYPE
Matt's voice for the NPC in Calliope's story is like a beautiful cross between Viktor and Captain Barbossa 😂
thank you guys so much for always putting all your stuff on youtube... I can never catch live or twitch shows being deployed and I love watching all these when i have time, looking forward to the new campaign when i get home and love the new group, keep it up!
That was really great. Having this AND Critical Role every week will be amazing.
It's so awesome how people in this audience want to actually listen to the story instead of screaming bloody murder, like those other live events. Now you guys, that's the right way do it!
huge smile on my face, seeing this line-up.
This is not guaranteed to work. Critical Role were all trained in improv, played for 2 years before streaming and long time friends before even that . These guys, while all talented in their own right, basically just met each other and yet things are working out BRILLIANTLY! You've made me way to hopeful for this series.
Brian Posehn! As a death metalhead / dnd nerd he is my hero!
This is going to be awesome. All of the players are very funny.
Best DM I've Ever seen!
A first episode just appeared today on The Nerdist's channel - For those still waiting
Wow. Never seen anything like that. Amazing.
For any Russian speaking people it is SO confusing to hear the name Jopa, because exact same word in Russian means butt.
More like "ass", even. The way he INSISTS on being called "zhopa" *shakes head* 😝
it made me laugh so hard, especially matt's nearly perfect pronunciation at 20:39
It's interesting to see Amarth Amon reincarniated as Caliope!
lol Ashley was talking like Owen Wilson... HAHAAHAHAHAHA lol
omg brian when he explains his character and why she talks like that LOL
This is freaking hilarious!!!!!
For a moment I thought Chris Hardwick was gonna continue the Gern saga, but then i remembered he was a necro-ish kinda pc. too bad i wanted to feel the #FeeltheGern again. Oh well.
The death of Fatty Arbuckle was too much for him. He could never be the same Gern.
Fatty Arbuckle, the zombie that shambled its way into our hearts.
Enjoyed watching this. Wish it was longer than 30' though (i.e. this means it was a really good watch!)
Awesome!

Such a great DM
Would love Matt to have a go at my own beloved D&D setting "Greyhawk".

i love the dwarf omg
They need Jim Darkmagic! Lols.
It's high noon!
THE BLACK STAFF HIGH MAGE IS A WARLOCK!!!!!!!!
-power beyond any wizard
-high position
-already taken (by a patron!!!!!!!!!!)
ELLIE!
Matthew Mercer DMing Forgotten Realms OMGGGGGGGGGG yes!
Ugh having watched I wish they brought a (semi) serious cast of players similar to CritRole rather than this "Americans being Americans in fantasy land" trite. Can tell Matt is trying to do the setting justice but the players are just interested in forcing in comedy where it isn't needed. Shame.
+John Silman why Americans being Americans, are you saying Americans don't take things seriously
John Silman I see what you mean, I too have high hopes and although I enjoy the comedy do hope for some serious gameplay.
Wow, hilarious!
Bert Kibbler and Elly are playing some DnD toggether. That's something you don't see everyday
hey same place harmontown is recorded! or was, idk if they still do it from meltdown
Shelby Fero is low key so funny
oh my god I can't handle myself: "it's JOPA, you piece of shit!" :D "jopa" is literally "ass" in russian. fuck me, I really wanted towatch this show, but the guy's name is ASS! I don't think I'd be able to listen to it I'll die of laughter
AND HE SAIS IT SO CORRECTLY, TOO, JUST LIKE A RUSSIAN WOULD!
He prob did it on purpose. 99% of the people watching wouldn't know that so it's like an inside joke.
Whoever is the crude neanderthal playing that guy has no creativity.... If he was really funny, he'd have a more diverse vocabulary...
The way he says it reminds me of "Blade 2", one of the Wolfpack was named that i believe. The tall muscle guy that was in Transporter.
Well, whether he realized it or not, it's pretty amusing.
Oh wow! It's DEE NICE! She's in the D&D Club! :)
Holy crap I knew she looked familiar!
She did look familiar. Now I know why!
Why the videos got private? When it goes back?
When does this start??
Why does no one question the fact that they are all called the grey hands
lol this is going to be sick
Where can I get one of those & bracelets that everyone is wearing?.. I need one now!
Now...Jova - Жопа - Jopa - *кивает* Жопа
неужели случайно выбрал? походу либо он тролит, либо его тролят.
For the non-Russian speakers, we're wondering if he knowingly took he Russian word for "ass"--Zhopa--as his name.
such considerate, much polite...appreciate it!
What's more hillarious - the way he pronounces it. It is EXACTLY identical to the Russian speaker, moreover the emphasis they make, almost shouting.. It's golden.
"all summer"
"Weekly Episodes"
is there gonna be more force grey with these guys and will
The fisherman guy reminds me of louis CK
Why cant we see the other episodes?
Why has the Giant Hunter series been set to private?
Is this a shorter version of the more recently uploaded video or a prequel to it? Idk which to watch to avoid watching out of order :/
this is just the part of the longer video. you can just watch the longer one and you'll be fine :)
nevermind, figured it out. This is amazing!!! I really can only watch the videos where people are sitting around an actual table. Something about staring into a camera on skype I cant immerse in.
Anywho, on with the show!
Is this the Storm King's Thunder module that hasn't come out yet? Or is this one of Matts own creations.
Storm Kings Thunder, it looks very promising
+TasteThese Rolls oh man. So spoilers.
wait... OHGDEN!?
Moooore
when will part two be out?
I believe they come out once a week
Are they using normal character sheets? They look different
Great prologue, went by far too quickly. Really looking forward to this campaign but hope the episodes will be longer than 30 mins.
What wjc
what class is jaupa anyway
Did they seriously take down all the season 1 videos bc of the whole thing with Chris Hardwick?
Inspired by The Lords of Waterdeep board game no less. I wonder if their quests are from the cards as well?
Lords of waterdeep was inspired by this world actually, the world they are playing is vast and one of the originals this story takes place in this world.
Is there any schedule?
Every week for he summer I believe
Do you know what days and time?
I am pretty sure it is Wednesdays live on Twitch, not sure when it goes on CZcams. The live time I am not sure, might be 4:30 Pacific? Twitch link www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd/profile
↘ 5:23 ---AQUI LA MARCA ESTIGIA D&D ref
My name is Kalliope, which is not pronounced the way that they were pronouncing it XD
I use to think that our games were special, apparently all games play out the same way..in that male gamers try and pick up the female NPC's! Haha. This video was great! Also, you gotta try and play things out in the most outrageous ways possible! We played Earthdawn though. :P
I hear sour cream from Steven universe in there
omg!! I could almost let this replace Critical Role in my life!! LOL
what are the classes and races
in the party
This looks extremely fun! Though perhaps you should have snagged Alison H to come game as well :)
Any other Critters find these characters to be kind of a pain? It’s episode one so hopefully it gets better.
Why has he renamed the Blackstaff "Ajira"? Her name is Vajra. It keeps throwing me for a loop.
Pace was a bit too slow. 30mins and they just recruited??
Too bad they only ever did two episodes of this
the girl reminds me of napoleon dynamite
Is this it? Isn't there more?
In time.
How much?
3 time.
Joppa is bae
Matt Mercer did great like awlays. The rest of the party not so much imo.
"Zhopa" means "ass" in russian and this guy defenetly knows that.
yikes, 5 PCs. It tends to get complicated with more than 4 player characters at once.
Depends on the dm. Matt is currently running critical role which has 7 and it is immensely successful.
+jordanETshreve oh, he's the one DING Critical Role? I've heard great things about it, but I haven't listened to it yet. I've been giving God'sfall a little attention, which has been fantastic so far.
Well, Matt Mercer normally runs a game with 7, and ran with 8 for like 2 years.
Shelby and Ashley are cuties...
...why can't I ever meet fun girls like them? :(
What the hell happened to this video?
Did they seriously pull the entire Force Grey Giant Hunter because of it featuring Chris Hardwick? Not cool Nerdist. :(
The audio needs some serious work. It's sometimes too quiet to understand and so loud it hurts in the same sentence. It's just wildly all over the place.
Characters are kind of annoying... IMO
painful to watch imho...
It's a dungeon for rookie... very bad
This isn't a game. This is actors reading scripts pretending to be in a game! Where is the virtual table and the dice so the audience knows what is going on? Now i know why WOTC doesn't have a virtual table of their own!
PLEASE WORK ON THE SOUND FOR THE NEXT EPISODES THANK YOU. FIRST ITS LOUD THEN SOFT ITS ANNOYING TO LISTEN TOO
Woah. I came from Harmon town and I do not like this at all. I'm out
