My humble opinion of Dungeons & Dragons editions: I’ve seen this and other videos on the topic. I’ve read the comments. I like the “2024” naming as an edition (that is compatible in ways with the previous edition)and I also call upon all future editions (well into the future) to be named by year. That will let newer player’s easily know how old an edition is that they might be trying. It can also encourage more people to update to newer. Nothing wrong with that…in my humble opinion.

I've happily unsubscribed from every service that gives money to WOTC - their business practices are anti-consumer, greedy, and undermine the vast work that fans have done to sustain something Hasbro sees as little more than an IP to carry out brand collab after brand collab with. Everyone wants to go the way of Fortnite - a business model that prints money. I'm only commenting now because I saw this and realized I was still subscribed to their YT channel. I'm having a blast with Pathfinder and other systems tho.

Wow, really leaning into the "D&D is a Lifestyle Brand!" thing here, aren't we? I suppose the goal is to have more people flock to D&D, but I don't really see how tacking some D&D skins and a D20 onto completely unrelated franchises should accomplish that. Besides, Warframe is a better Destiny than Destiny is, so... 🤷

They keep throwing DnD into other things… but rarely do DnD players get anything out of these collaborations in return. Not never, but it’s all but unheard of in the more recent batch.
