  • When we traveled to pick up our little boy we adopted from Liberia Africa we knew it would change our lives, but we didn’t know just how much.
    Taking our 4 bio kids was the best decision we made, it was an amazing 4 weeks and we are so grateful we were able to do that.
    This video is the first part of our trip there.

    you are an angel. I am from Liberia myself and there’s so much suffering there for the little kids. I am also thinking about adopting a child from there, so God bless you and your beautiful family. You guys will have our harmonious home and everything will work together for good. Thank you so much, my lovely sister.

    No wonder I felt so attached to your family since the beginning of the video!
    I just heard you said you’re member of “The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints”
    That warms my heart even more.
    I’ve been a member since childhood in Liberia; served in NY and have lots of added families here around the States.
    Thought I come back to share that 😂

    I have mixed opinion on taking a child from Africa to America. America is a dangerous place especially for black males and gun violence impacting everyone, schools, malls etc. It is a blessing to care for the little boy and clearly he will be a treasured part of the family. I hope he can keep a strong connection to Africa.

    • @jessicamandile
      @jessicamandile  Před rokem

      It is our goal to keep his heritage a strong part of him. We plan to go back often. We are aware the US isn't the safest place, but all we can do is teach him to be strong and trust in God's plan

    Liberia is a beautiful country. Poverty yes, but the people find a way. And poverty in West Africa is different than USA. The coldest weather anytime is 72 degrees, fruit grows abundantly everywhere. People don't need oversized houses and TVs and a materialistic Babylon lifestyle to be happy. That said, on an individual level, most likely this will be a happy boy. But larger issues of Africa being viewed as needing 'saved' by the West is false, especially after hundreds of years of kidnapping Africans from their continent and stealing their natural resources. Overall, as a matter of public policy, I feel this is not good.

      So how did you help the little boy, how are you helping with your negative energy.! You guys are the problem for Africa when other people try to help, then you come up with your 200 years of slavery problem. The boys need help, Liberia kids are suffering poorly and lack of good education, She is helping and stop telling to deem the light that is shining into this little boy's life and find a child to adapt yourself. As Liberians, we are happy that our boy will have a good family. so that he can help his family tomorrow. Thank you.

      @@mammietoe2496 You don't speak for all Liberians and certainly not like an educated pan-African. And what I've done and the number of people positively impacted has a lot more $0's on it than this example and not one person got extracted from their homeland into a dangerous foreign place. You sound like an Americo Liberian.

      We are aware that Liberia has a different way of providing. We have come back changed because of the humble people we met over there. We plan to go back to Liberia and other West Africa countries to help serve the people there. I understand your concern and thank you for your comment.

      @@jessicamandileThank you for respecting my POV, which is not entirely absolute given the complexity. There's no doubt you love and protect Benson, and you have a unique and very personal connection to Liberia yourselves now too. You've made a large personal and financial effort for the little boy from the goodness of your pure hearts influenced by your faith as well. As you found, Liberians are amazing resilient people and will always welcome you. Benson can be proud of his new family and his original homeland. I personally 100% directly support 9 Liberian children and this is a blessing beyond any material thing I've ever purchased for myself.
