    Excellent! The palm tree and obelisk give a nice finishing touch to an otherwise difficult build. Mummy's curse indeed.

    I really liked your concept and execution of this difficult build. It's always great when you put your own stamp on a kit. All the best.

      I do often put my own stamp on kits but that's what usually gets me in trouble, taking far longer to finish them off. Thanks for watching.

    Glad to see you were able to get some build time this past week. The diorama looks great, nice work on the palm tree and it's cool to see your 3D printer at work. I wouldn't be the mummy without a curse but you overcame them all (just like in the movies). 😀👍

      Thanks. The model was actually finished weeks ago before all the family matters kicked in and the bout with covid which prevented me from finishing the final edit and the completed photos. I have been getting a little modelling in but just a small start on a kit.

      Hope you are feeling better this week. I'm just about to post the final video of the 1967 GTO.

    very cool build and i really like the display base!

      @dariosmodelbuilds  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks, the base did not end up exactly as I envisioned it, but pretty close. I would reposition the Obelisk to the back and have it leaning forwards if I had to rebuild it. Every build I do I learn something.

    I didn't realize these kits were that big.

      I think the "Frankenstein Flivver" is the biggest from this series. I have not built it yet but I do have the kit in my stash.

    Great job on the Mummy mobile. Cool 3D obelisk.

      Thanks. Not 'panzer' caliber but it'll do. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you may be a local builder. I seem to recall seeing some of your videos or build pictures posted in The Hobby Center or IPMS Ottawa facebook groups.

      Thanks Tom. I hope you also have a Happy Holidays. Unfortunately I've been dealing with a number of family health and death matters for the last while that have made these holidays anything but happy and are in fact the reason this build took so long. All I hope for is a better year than the last.

    I'm working on this very model now. Plastic injection molding hadn't been around when Aurora created these. The Mummy's Chariot is a mess, with many challenges. I've done the Wolfman's Wagon. It had some problems but nothing like The Mummy. I came to your video to see how you worked out some of the problems that I'm having.

    • @dariosmodelbuilds
      @dariosmodelbuilds  Před 3 měsíci

      This one certainly needed a lot of figuring out. Like you I usually do searches for photos or videos from others who have built the kit and the look at these references when I'm not sure where parts go. Good luck with your build and I hope my video helps.
      You can see my build of the Dracula Dragster here as well. And you can find my build of the Wolfman Wagon in the model blogs I created before I made videos.

      @@dariosmodelbuilds The Wolfman's Wagon was the very first model I did by myself when I was a seven-year-old kid. What a mess. Like you, some years ago, I found this model and had to have it. It stayed in a box for the last two decades. But I recently broke that bad boy out and went to work. I totally rejected their color options and did my own thing. I wish I could post some pictures of it here. It came out great. I've got Frankenstien's Flivver primed and letting the primer cure before I paint. And as that's been curing, I've been working on The Mummy. As you know, it is a challenge. Ya know, it's sad that this hobby isn't as popular as it was when I was a boy. I think kids learn a lot from building a model. Attention to detail and patience, are just two things. I know I enjoy it.

      @@1701ALLEN Not sure if I mentioned it in the video but I have Frankenstein Flivver and Kong Throne in my stash. Need to get the Godzilla Cart to complete the set.

      @@dariosmodelbuilds If there's something you need, like Godzilla's Go-Kart, they're one Google search away. I've got em all. Most of them I've had for decades. Saving for "someday". I found Godzilla on eBay. Over the years, I've collected nearly every single monster model Aurora originally produced. They're made exactly the way they were way back then in the '60s. Because the company that made them now is using those same molds. Perhaps they've been cleaned up a time or two. But the same molds are used today. At any rate, I feel like I'm revisiting my childhood. At least it feels that way while I'm doing it. Only now, I have the patience to let the glue dry. And the patience to let the paint dry. And I've found over the years that makes a big difference. lol. The first time I built The Wolfman's Wagon, I had that thing literally coated in paint, before the glue had even dried. I wasn't able to make the horn work back then. When my dad caught me in my mess, I had more paint on the kitchen table than the model. And you know what? That paint never did totally dry before my little brothers destroyed it. It was tacky to the end. It was still tacky as it lay in the kitchen garbage can. lol.

      I'll check your builds out for some ideas. I had one idea for painting The Mummy. But after seeing yours, I've changed my mind on a thing or two. I've already decided what to do with Frank's ride. I wish I could post my The Wolfman's Wagon. I'd love for you to see it. I love the way it turned out. @@dariosmodelbuilds
