  • I've not done a big glue up for a while, so I thought that I would do one for Christmas!
    Oak and Sapele off cuts with red Tulipwood veneer inserts. This bowl is one of my absolute favourites so far in my wood turning journey!
    Stay safe everyone. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄😀

    @DiveDiva2007 Před rokem +1

    Great idea but if you’d paid more attention to the glue up there would have been fewer gaps in the result, perhaps glue up if sections rather than all in one go.

      During the first lockdown I used eBay and other mail order suppliers. I can’t remember if this was the exact one, but the price is similar.

    Hear it goes , you might not like it but anyway? This hobby is a marathon not a sprint. That being said you need to slow down and enjoy what your doing. Your pieces had gaps that being said, if you would have slowed down and filled those gaps more with CA and worked it longer to a point that you can see the gap but can not feel it , then you can go on. The old saying you can sand it to a 1000 grit but if you don’t prep it correctly your pissing in the wind? Do your self a favor hold on to this piece and look back at it in the future and you will see how you have improved! Good luck on slowing down, the truth hurts but it gains you knowledge, so it’s a win , win in the long run . Keep’em turning!!!!!

    • @RDMWoodturning
      @RDMWoodturning  Před 3 lety

      Thank you very much. You are totally right. I have this piece in my kitchen reminding me of the journey so far. I got into CA glue about 4 months ago, and since then I’m definitely paying more attention to the fine details. I genuinely appreciate the comments. Cheers
