The 2010 Braun BOTY finals held in Montpellier, France, was a true celebration of all things hip-hop. Top b-boy crews from around the world competed for the glory of winning the 'world championship of breakdancing'.
The Braun BOTY is much more than a contest. It's a week-long festival of hip-hop culture, featuring 1 vs 1 and We B*Girlz battles, gigs, workshops and more to ensure the event stays true to its b-boy roots - spreading hip-hop culture to a larger public audience.
The Battle Of The Year has come a long way. Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out back in 1990 in a local youth culture centre with 500 hard core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and B-Boy crews from all over the world taking part.
BOTY has grown massively, more and more people can relate to the vision of evolving the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience

@@dertree4187 yeah bboy rocket sorry I’m more familiar with his crazy elbow sets I didn’t recognize him. I was thinking about that triple roll at 1:50. I thought that roll variation was a Vegas carnival/handstepping style that Ben invented. My teacher said people don’t really care about bites as much anymore so maybe it’s a moot point and people do make up the same thing independently occasionally without biting. idk I’m amateur and just enjoy being a small part of the scene.

@@RoarOfJahLion Well, since the video is pretty old and Bboy Rocket just got to Gamblerz from Morning of Owl, I find a bit difficult for him to know many moves from other countries. I should look up for more of Rocket's footage to see of he has done that move for more time.
Ironically, that roll is one of Rocket's signature. I guess we will never know exactly if that's a bite ( let's remember that Morning of Owl was super underground from 2004-2011, which makes more difficult to know when did Rocket start to do that move)

@@dertree4187 yeah probably just home cooked them both on their own and maybe they’re not as similar as I think and I don’t know what I’m talking about. It’s always possible one of them liked the other one’s and did a subtle variation I didn’t catch to make it their own and paid proper respect. I think it’s fun to discuss, so thanks for indulging me
