We took one of the flyers from the new FT STEM Project EZ Space Flight and went big. Wait, we didn’t go big, we went MONSTER! Join us on our journey of discovery as we take a small plane that takes 20 minutes to build (if you’re Josh Bixler) and scale up its size by SIX times to a plane that is 8ft (2.4m) long and takes three days to build. Perhaps our guess about the thrust-to-weight ratio was correct, and we chose the motors properly for a perfect maiden flight...or did we?!

You guys should build an SR 71!
Agreed
Same
yes
X15 or bust
That would be awesome!
*Yes. Very good airplane. Really well✈😍😍*
These guys are not Engineers... They are Advanced Aliens from another solar system far far away.. Nothing in our Air Force maneuvers like that.
Very cool but can you only use emojis of objects and not these: 😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣🥲☺️😊😇🙂🙃😉😌😍🥰😘😗😙😚😋😛😝😜🤪🤨🧐🤓😎🥸🤩🥳😏😒😞😔😟😕🙁☹️😣😖😫😩🥺😢😭😤😠😡🤬🤯😳🥵🥶😱😨😰😥😓🤗🤔🤭🤫🤥😶😐😑😬🙄😯😦😧😮😲🥱😴🤤😪😵🤐🥴🤢🤮🤧😷🤒🤕🤑🤠😈👿👹😺😸😹😻😼😽🙀😿😾🤲
Absolutely hilarious when Bixler dances with uncontrollable excitement at 14:43 This is TRULY the joy of flying! Keep it up! ✌️
sooo good to see you folks still at it. we have had a lot of high quality entertainment from the efforts of ALL of you. may the powers that be allow you to see your dreams continue and grow. thank you for allowing us to be a part. well done Josh
“Giant Spaceship Thing” is probably the most obscure title of any FT video😂
Ya
Just wait until you see what They did with it next.... 😁
What Is Islam?
Islam is not just another religion.
It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
{ “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)
Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him
@@ahmdabdallah5811 mmmm I love religion bots in the comments section
Here's a challenge build for you guys: Build the flying steam locomotive from Back to the Future Part 3
And the delorean, mabey a hoverboard.
That's a great idea, that is one of my favorite movies
jo my
Oh I hope they try something like that sometime it would be a great challenge.
@@sunniestpluto I'm hoping they do. It would be awesome
I love this sort of episode, where the guys think on their feet to come up with solutions that make these really bizarre designs actually fly. It’s a real test of knowledge and experience, so once again congrats!
I swear that has to be my favorite plane you all have built to date! I don't even know why it's just the sheer craziness of it and improbability of it, Great job job guys!!! You all are AMAZING!!!
13:49 Josh pulled a Tokyo drift right there, ducking halarious
"how's it going to land?"
It doesn't, it's a space ship! Lol
a prop powered spacecraft ah? lol
I believe the term is "lithobraking."
Clay More ghhh
The laughter is infectious, I'm grinning right now! It flies amazingly well BTW. Hi, from the UK as well.
I love these huge versions of the models you make ... Look's like so much fun to do. Keep up the good work and great vid's
It looks like a Covenant Ship!
Reminds me more of the Sisters of Eve ships from EVE Online.
@@Zankaroo Well, my guess would have been a Vulcan cruiser from Startrek...
Imagine if they built a flying covenant cruiser
CCS class battlecruiser
I thought it was a Romulan ship. to go with the Federation and Klingon.
That was quite awesome, at the end when you guys was on about making people think they might have seen a UFO or something is the exact thought i had about 14 minutes in.
Guys I am so loving this video for all its worth. Nothing better than going big and making it work 100%. Keep up the good times as always.
Now that was a lot of fun.
Well done and thanks.
There is an expression (We threw in everything and the kitchen sink) So fly a foam industrial kitchen sink. They have huge wings.
They’ve flown a cinderblock before so I think they can do a sink
I think the lobster fish thing Josh was thinking of is called a Horseshoe crab.
I love it guys! I get so excited when you get them up and away.
Keep up the great work.
I got excited when they got excited.. that was exhilarating to watch even! Good job guys.
I feel like this is proof of the “with enough power” anything can fly.
next on the list; the flying brick
@@Vousie The loop actually does provide a lot of lift, hence why it can go so slow and stay in the air.
@Vousie V actually the circular shapes contribute a lot when it comes to lift, that's why if you cut a piece of paper into a long, thin rectangle and tape it into a circular shape when you throw it like a football it stays in the air longer than a normal paper airplane
@@tactical_p0tato think that circle is inducing a coanda effect?
@@judgeomega We did that with the F-4 in the 60's...
Please please please! make an "FT Serenity" from Firefly the TV series.
That sweet and kind emotions touched a little kid obsessed with aviation inside me! You are so open and great guys, thank you for what you doing!)
The boyish excitement is authentic, folks. Keep it up!
I can’t believe you did NOT try flying the drone through the hoop!
14:44 when my mom finally buys me the toy I been asking at the store.
You guys crack yourselves up... LOVE it!!
Just awesome, truly enjoyed this..!!!
It looks like one of my grandmother's retro 1960's table lamp
It looks like the plane that carried the enemy ball thing in "The incredibles".
Dude it’s...
*not even close*
Man, I laughed so hard at this :) Great build and flight guys. Didnt actually think that one was going to survive, that hoop was flexing all over the place.
I love it! I would love to see the Serenity from Firefly and I love the Grumman Goose. The Goose is probably a fairly straight forward beast but Serenity is a box with a neck, quite a challenge.
This thing reminds me of some of the Vulcan starships from Star Trek,
That's what I thought
Cause the others are totally a galaxy class and k'vort bird of prey
Giant Spaceship thing looks like a Romulan or Vulcan ship... The Star Fleet and the Klingon are there as well
Good eye ;)
@@joshuamelvin woah is this the mighty josh himself?
manuallybreathing lol. Not much mighty in me. ;) I know someone who is mighty though!
Love ya brother!
@@joshuamelvin don't mind me just let me nerd out for a second...
For real though I appreciate your reply, I've been watching for the past 5 or 6 years so it means a lot
@@joshuamelvin I'll give that an AMEN!!
The positivity and the enthousiasm coming from this video is just amazing. It set me in such a good mood. I love your videos guys!
It’s a lot of fun but nothing beats the flying tank. Love that one.
I would love to see a turbine jet version of this spaceship design.
Make the Enterprise huge, and actually look like an accurate enterprise from star trek.
miniPrise got downed by miniBOP, that's quite accurate, but yea that would be epic
Full size. Crew and all.
@@myusernameisrighther 2040: Making a 1:1 scale model of the USS Enterprise (It actually flew)
Super fun to watch. Thanks.
I love watching their videos, they are pretty cool. Does anyone else like drones and cool stuff like this?
"Hey look Noah how much fun I have with the plane you built. Nah, sorry, you can't have the sticks but you could catch it for me thank you."
Haha! :)
It looks like a Vulcan battlecruisre from star trek enterprise
All three designs seem to be based on that franchise...
@@Timberwolf69 the one with the circle
I came here to say the same thing.
that's because it is, they are a Vulcan ship, a Starfleet ship, and a Romulan Ship
This is the happiest video !! Great stuff!!!
That went way better than expected. Very cool!
NEXT BUILD:
Make a *giant rubber ducky* fly
Yes
Here's a challenge:
An EDF aircraft, with variable sweep wings.
Like the VF-1 series fighters from Macross
Yesss this is a must lol
It's been done and uploaded. Search.
Forward swept wing like the YF-19 with vector thrust EDFs... XD oh and canards
And to help launch it they should create a launching rail. Like a super easy one with 3 meters of extruded aluminum and then just use a cheap tripod at the front and maybe a cheap mini tripod with those flexible legs at the back just to keep it off the ground. think about it the tripod has the flexible top that would mount perfectly to the aluminum with a T nut and then you can use the adjustments on the tripod in the front to raise and lower the angle of the rail. 3D print out a few parts to roll along the rails like for 3D printers and things and then all you need is something to pull the sled with and rubber is the simple solution there! Hmm that makes me want to design this, I'll wright up a full design in another comment!
Love that I found this channel during Quarantine! You guys are amazing! Keep it up
Jumping with joy 😂 it's always a treat to watch your videos. Keep up the good work. Awaiting the next video
"-911, what's your emergency?
-I just saw an UFO flying over my backyard!"
"LIGHTS!" it needs lights and flown at night!
"It flew!"
More like fell, with style 😂😂
Great job Guys ,amazing that you can make almost any shape flyable

That's awesome guys!
Amazing that the original design scaled so well. Nice work!
How about an rc plane where someone can sit in
Ok, nevermind
Like an F4 big enough engines and a brick can fly.
The f4 was revolutionary and it kicked some serious ass
wow amazing! the consepte wing loop is perfect good job guy !!!!
You guys r having too much fun! We are loving 🥰 these videos.
Suggestion: something "like" a Harrier jump jet, with a combination of fans for liftoff and actual model jet engines for forward flight.
The government watching like: 😑
@Eddy Jin no u
@Eddy Jin coz rude
Awesome guys!!!
It's not a roll if you're turning in place! Love it!
Did anyone notice that he’s wearing the king of random merch
I’m early
Yes you are indeed
Hi early, I'm dad.
I would love to see an 8' Senior Telemaster foam-board set of plans! My dad had an original when I was a little kid, I had one when I was in my teens... It is an epic design. We flew them at night, towed gliders, dropped bombs & chutes! We even flew a 30 minute FREE FLIGHT with it. Several times we flew it by using nothing but the trim tabs. Super versatile plane. It had a flying stabilizer so it took off and landed like a B-52 with the nose down. I have a pile of 4'x8' foam board that I'd love to put into one of those but don't have a good way to design it with. My dad still flies daily and has the equipment for FPV flight - The perfect combo. SD
What an amazing flight. So cool.
You guys should build a dragon or some type of flying creature
Don't lie who else went straight down to the comments?
I did. I went straight down to the comments.
That thing is wild. I was sure the circular wing was going to come apart at launch, or shortly after. Flying, it looked great!
That was awesome guys!
I need one of those!
Hello random person scrolling through the comment section.
Have a great day and stay safe from covid-19
Thank you
Hello random person scrolling through the comment section. Have a great day and quit watching television and believing everything you're told without research. Take your mask off. There's no reason to wear one!
Really cool.Great job.
The chase footage for this one was next level. Alex must have had a ton of fun with it.
That was one sweet aircraft!! The motors are unbelievable! I didn't know they made them that big.
So COOL!! Love it.
That was so awesome! You all amaze me.
Watching that it occurred to me that you could use a fiberglass rod to reinforce the leading edge of the hoop. Probably need two or three along with metal ferrules to join them. Then you would not have to worry about speed or wind collapsing the hoop and if you come in slow you could touch down without breaking the hoop. I would think 1/8" is strong enough for that. I love the excitement and the look of that. It should definitely be on the list of planes for your next fly-in. Keep up the great work, it makes sitting in front of the computer doing remote support go a lot faster.
I was thinking more like the springy metal framed windshield shades.
That should be sickening fun to fly! 😂
Great job, guys!!! It looks fantastic! 😃
Stay safe there, everybody! 🖖😊
Hey guys! This was an interesting build. It could benefit with Fleshing it out with paint and graphics and a set of lights for night flights. I think you could reinforce the hoop with a carbon rod on the leading edge so it would be more durable, it may be possible to then installing some landing gear. Foam spheres could potentially make functional landing gear and could be incorporated into the design as special features, unless they create too much drag. Anyway, there are a few ideas I just thought of off the top of my head. Thank you for posting this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! 🙂
When i need a laugh i watch FT. These guys are awesome. Great job.
glow in the dark paint!!! thanks for sharing!
That thing is just nuts. It is amazing that it's still in one piece.
