Maserati is a brand that seduces you so much, at the point of buying the car besides all the negative points. All video reviews about the Ghibli are about how much it´s over priced and they all say is not a good car. But I'm sure it's a lovely experience having one and if I could afford it I would definitely buy it because... damn thats a sexy car. I love the aggressiveness of the front, the luxurious side line and the back looks very very good and agressive as well.
I agree with you on the last point: get the right Ghibli. You gotta get the right color and trim combination and this car really stands out. I know it's subjective in the eye of the beholder, but certain color/trim combos on this car can make it look a little less "special". Example: I've seen the beige paint with base black leather combo and it looks just ok. I decided to spend a bit more and get the Nero Ribelle paint, Rosso extended leather, carbon fiber trim and alcantara headliner. Let me tell you, it really gets some looks and thumbs up! Also got a ceramic coat on the paint for protection and an awesome deep black/sparkle on sunny days. So I agree - get the right Ghibli and you won't need to upgrade later. Needless to say, I own mine too.
Own Mercedes BMW and Ghibli. When in a bad mood I pick the Masi every time. Good for the soul👍

as soon as you change between ICE/Normal to Sport, even in the passenger seat you can feel it wanting to go.
It's really bumpy, sport suspension lol, but always very comfortable.

It's a track car hidden behind 4 doors and requires a lot of periodic maintenance $$$. It's not for everyone. My 2014 SQ4, is the best sports sedan ride/experience I have owned compared to my previous Audi/Beemer. With 22K miles, I have replaced all 4 brakes pad,rotors and tires. Just Ebay parts and you can see how expensive these things cost. Parts are made in Italy and are very high quality. They are race grade and will not last long like a Toyota.
You said it best towards the end of your vid, it's an experience that you purchase and it does not come cheap. This is not the car if you are comparing costs, lol. Plus the service you get from most dealerships is a joke compared to Benz/Audi/Lexus, etc.
One more thing to consider - If you know how to work on cars or have a good mechanic, basic maintenance is very simple on these cars versus going to a dealer. If you are looking to purchase a used Ghibli, keep in mind you will def need to replace rotors and brakes, that's just the way it is so don't let the seller fool you. Mine has been pretty reliable and it's a daily driver too w/11k a year.

The brakes are not shit at all, my Ghibli SQ4 has done 7k km and i have no problem with the brakes or routers, the brakes are actually very good Brembo brakes that are used in various other sports and super cars
Oh yeah they are great brakes, I just had a problem with my set but I have a brand new set now so all good.

¨Have 25k km on my SQ4 and the Brembo brakes are great and efficient but the front dunlops road and track tires are wearing out a bit fast on mountain roads hard work, since the front isn't light. I will get new specific Maserati summer tyres soon, no problems, our local Ferrari-Maserati dealer is top, no issues whatsoever. The alu-steel disk is a light and ecomomical compromise since composite brakes are still too expensive for this market. A problems remains, pulling on the hand brake with red hot disk after downhill careless driving or track test can damage a disk and caliper arrangment with unwanted cooling distorsion but that can happen with any car.
Trying to decide between this or a C63S, I realize the Merc is faster, but I also love style too. That would stand out over the AMG as most people who don't know about cars would assume it's a normal C class.
Even tho the c63 is faster, the Maserati looks so much better and sounds better. People will recognize it much more than the c63
Yeah I think so too, but also it makes the C63 more of a "sleeper" so to speak. It's not too in your face like the Maserati is.

The C63S is going to be the better car overall. The "sleeper" status, the performance, and where it really stands out compared to this, the quality. As much as people hate to admit it, the Ghibli is essentially a Chrysler with the large amount of parts shared. It's not a bad car, but spending the amount of money you are on this car, there are other options that do it better.
Really?! The only real parts that are sourced from Chrysler are the switches and the infotainment screen/system. The chassis is a derivative of a Mercedes, (if you want to get technical, the switches are former MBZ S Class), the engine is built by Ferrari, sheetmetal is all Maserati, brakes are Brembo, etc, etc..
The depreciation is insane. You can find a 2014-15 for average $35K, and look rich as fuck on the road. Lol
2015 Ghibli S Q4 is worth about $45K now, crazy man. Better buy a used one.

My customer just traded in his older CLK500 for a 2014 Quattroporte . I should be performing the oil change service in a few days. Waiting for my new scan-tool to arrive that will allow me to reset the maintenance monitor. I will be testing my fluid evacuator to see if I am able to retrieve all of the oil through the dipstick tube. If it works, I will be advertising this service at owners homes and offices for half the dealer price.

Great vid. That interior omg...mouthwatering. (tints are also removable by the way) Also..big discussion below about the brakes. If you buy brakes yourself online it saves a ton of $. I read Ghibli brake pads wear out consistently between 15k-20k miles.
You're correct on brake life. If you go to the Ghibli forums online there's a source for OEM or aftermarket pads. I just did my rear pads with the "aftermarket" pads, which are EXACTLY like OEM, but without the Brembo sticker on them for $250. Not cheap, but not really more than a high end BMW, Merc, or Porsche.
Tim Purcell yep exactly. For what the car is, $250 is very reasonable. I luckily have a buddy who is really good with cars and builds vehicles from scratch so he can swap brakes and rotors for me in his sleep :) I basically just buy him lunch for doing it haha. Much better than the hundreds per hr a dealership charges
Renaldo Nelson - go to the Maserati Ghibli forums when you need parts and contact mrpa1999. He can get nearly any OEM part, or suitable after-market parts and save you a lot of $ over the dealership prices. I'm not associated with him, just a happy customer. :)

Hey guys! im thinking of buying a 2015 Ghibli 3.0 TD, it has 31k miles and 1 previous owner, full service history (I am in the UK) and I had a baby a year ago; now, I am between buying a 4 series Gran coupe, 5 series I even saw a nice 7 series, an X5 or this Ghibli I mentioned, the price difference is not much, and it is GBP 26000, now I am leaning towards this one mainly because if is a freaking Maserati, also because comparing prices between older Maseratis, they do not devaluate lower than 20k, which makes me think I can have this car for a couple of years and when we get another baby then I can change to an SUV and I won't loose too much on devaluation, now road tax is 190 GBP a year, which is not much, but I would like to know in your experience, how much is the running cost of this vehicle and if it makes sense what I am planning to do.

Great Video bro, I love the haters gonna hate(my thing? haters fuel my ambition to be even better til they die lol), I live in NY and ppl adore it and you get a lot of head turners lol, I find it funny but honestly I pull the trigger on the car because my panamera was getting high in mileage and worst, the 2017 panamera was coming out so you call it an "Strategic Purchase" and I'll hold on to it until I'm done and maybe switch back or nah or sometime in the near future Ferrari will come out with a 4 door lol. But I had a crazy idea, one of the ways to get the Ghibli back up in value is if ferrari came out with a 4 door and the only way to get one was to own a 2014-newer Maserati or a ferrari, then trade one of them in to be "considered" to own one. That could work, only thing is Maserati's as a whole depreciate pretty badly, not just the Ghibli. Sot I'm not sure what it's going to take to get them back up in value since its all about supply and demand and there are tons of Masi's for sale as opposed to were Ferrari's are harder to get into when that market comes to play. But it would be interesting if they came out with a sedan.
+rpo305 yea I know, I'll say the only stipulation is you have to be the original owner or 2nd owner of the vehicles, can't be more than that and you still have to be selected by Ferrari. By doing that, watch how the value goes back up lol

Thanks for posting this video. I have a question about squeaks and rattles. Do you have any in your car? My wife and I had a demo, early build, last year for a weekend and noticed that the interior squeaked. Once again it was a early build and a demo which had been beat to death so it may not have been representative of the make. Would love to know your experiences. Thanks.
I've gotten a few rattles and they've all turned out to be broken clips in the doors. It was an easy fix for the dealer. I've heard some earlier models have rattles in the door and rear speakers as well so that can also be a factor.
