+Alessandro Gulli thats nonsense. you starter will pull anywhere from 2kw up to 6kw. average car lights need like 100w. this battery was dead from the beginning, he could have shut the lights off but he wouldnt have been able to start his car anyway.
+RichieRouge206 And it actually a good trick to turn your lights on for about 30-40 sec before starting your car. This will warm up the battery a tad bit to help start the car. (Still don't start the car with the lights on....) this is in very cold temps of course

Why you don't switch off your headlight?
Your battery is knackered! And your lights should be off when starting any car.

That's why you remove battery in the evening and keep it in the warm house on the radiator or get a lithium jumper that you keep warm at home

you should let your headlights on for few minutes. that's will heat your battery. :)
