I figured out it is way easier to just open your in inventory to catch bees. While you have the inventory open, bees don't sting you, so you can easily equip your bug net and catch them. :'>

You sadly can't upgrade to Nookingtons on Wild World anymore. I can still upgrade because I have the Virtual Console re-release of Wild World, and you don't need a friend to come to your town. It's a shame that most people can't upgrade to Nookingtons anymore, nor get Shampoodle.
