Okay since I get comments saying “I have this” all the time, I want to state: this specific stone variant of the museum is NOT in the game any more. Unless you’re playing without updates, you cannot have this if you just started playing. Only those who never upgraded it before the 2.0 update in November 2021 would still have it, which is a really small portion of players.

@@TheTekinha15animal Crossing has never had that option only they used to let you pick your house colors for roofing. I miss the old animal crossing games this one is honestly complicated and they make it very hard to even get stuff and build the really cool islands.

Upgrading was part of the fun in old games, and they kinda just took all of it away. The fact that nooks store doesn’t upgrade past it’s current state is just kind of sad
New horizons lacks a lot sadly. It’s all the reason why I’m still grinding new leaf despite the wifi getting nuked for it. So if you are planning on getting all badges for it do it now and do dream one first

I literally upgraded it on day one... oh no 😩 but I finished the art exhibit of mine and it looks amazing, I just wish we could customize the exteriors of our shops and stuff. Perhaps in the next AC game

OH WOW, I got the game back in March 2021 and restarted my island last month, I was confused why Blathers didn't have a thought bubble after a while and mention a museum upgrade. Genuinely thought I was crazy and made it up in my head after playing so many sleepless nights, so glad I found this short and know now it absolutely was real! :0

@@dollibon_ I think you may just need to keep playing until they talk about it, you can time travel if you don't wanna wait. Usually that's how I get Nook's cranny when I restart.

I got so exited when I saw this on my island- I use a family switch that my mom didn’t want the island so I took it over and we’ve had animal crossing since it came out. My older sisters who now have their own switches don’t play anymore aswell and the island has been left for a long time and me forgetting about it.
Edit: I also have it on my own switch I’ve gotten now because I got impatient to download the updates and played for a while time traveling getting the old owl.

The art gallery and Cafe came in it if you updated animal crossing and/or your switch even if you have the stone museum

For the longest time I didn’t have an upgraded museum and all my friends did because acnh glitched on me and Redd never came, so when they released the update, I was thrilled to see Redd standing on the beach because I had been waiting forever for him lol. (I think Nintendo added a thing where Redd will come if he hasn’t)
I hate the art section, but Brewster is my favourite npc in the game. It’s worth anything to chill with him.

I had that version of the museum a few days ago, I didn’t realize Brewster was in the game and I saw Kapp’n at a dock on my island and he took me to an island where I met Brewster, and then got the upgrade to the museum a couple days later. I love having the Roost in the museum again, just like it was in city folk!

They must have updated and added it back, i reset my island a month ir 2 ago and got it

If anyone’s confused what he means that museum picture that he showed in the video and if you upgraded your museum before the November 2021 it would look like that which since he explained it in the comments on how it looks different well it does the lights on the left and right sides aren’t here now and the museums now have more details on the outside which is because I’m pretty sure it’s brick now and not stone and also the steps now have 3 and not 2 and now it’s just brick and not stone/rock hope that helps !😊
Stone was great. Pretty letdown there's not an option to change it back. If this were New Leaf, I am sure there would have been.

I actually have mines like that with art gallery
Skip like 8% of the game (which is part of my thing to do in animal crossing) and made the game feel incomplete since art collecting had been a mainstay since the gamecube, or keep a building looking a certain way that I never paid much attention to. I upgraded and never looked back and was quite happy when the update was pushed.
Though the stone did look quite nice. Makes sense for a museum.

you can get this by rolling back game versions
it's rare because why would you do this, not because its that hard to get. animal crossing players are nuts though so I dont doubt someone has already done exactly that for the aesthetic
My museum has never upgraded. No art wing or cafe or anything. It’s been like this since release, just fish insects and fossils. I have no idea what went wrong or how to unlock any of this

i had the museum without the art room and them i reset and it was the new museum :(
I restarted my island because it was a shared one and I wasn't in charge and the other people were never online and probably pulling down the star rating with how underdeveloped their houses were, and one of them was just a tent because someone logged into the wrong account, now it's still a shared island that nobody but me plays on, but I'm in charge this time.
