- Hello everyone! This week I've finished magnetizing my modular Battle Sisters Squad! While it was extremely tedious due to the small parts and irregular shapes, it was so rewarding when I could actually make it work and hot swap weapon and head options!

Damn, you truly magnetize EVERYTHING. I like that. Good ideas. Thank you.
I guess I went overboard on these! XD Indeed I hope that gave ideas if you're planning to magnetize as well! :D
Thanks for your earlier help. I managed to successfully magnetise my sister superiorâs arm and the bolt pistol fits it perfectly. I didnât have the spin mold, so I used a hobby knife to mark the centre-point, then a 1mm bit to drill a guide hole and then the 2mm bit to widen it. The guide hole made the boring significantly easier and marking each drill bit at the desired depth with sharpie made it easier to know when Iâd gone deep enough.
Now Iâm wondering how you managed to magnetise the combi-weapon halves. The bottom half seems to be literally smaller than 2mm. Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. Man thatâs nerve-wracking! Thereâs no more than 0.1mm to spare.
I'm glad to hear it was a success!! Yup, there's a like a thin layer of plastic left once drilled, but it should be fortified once primed. :D I'll probably not going to magnetise my other troops, save for the HQs.
This tutorial helped alot
Thank you!
Glad it helped! đ
My sisters are Order of Our Martyred Lady, but I made the inner habit a medium to light purple instead of burgundy. It makes them look very ecclesiastical as they are killing.
Awesome! I love the customization in colour schemes! Factions and colour schemes are always a struggle for me because I want to paint them up with the many different schemes I like, but then it wouldn't be thematically sound.đ â
iÂŽm doing this with my adeptas for kill team and itÂŽs doing good, the only issue i have is with the guns that use both arms, thereÂŽs always an arm that doesnÂŽt fit perfectly and leaves a small gap in the joint with the torso
I hear you, it happened to me as well for the first few tries. Best way I've found is to either shave off excess or add some bulk to either arm joint or torso. I haven't tried round magnets yet, but they might fix this problem đ€ Anyway glad your project us going in smoothly!đ„ł
How did you find drilling the sister superiorâs wrists? Iâm terrified of destroying them trying to insert a 2mm magnet.
It is definitely delicate. The best method I found is first cutting off any protruding part from the wrists to have a flat surface.d I use Godhand's spin mold, which has a center pin that punctures the center of the surface and will serve as an axis so drilling will not veer off. You can use a normal 2mm drill bit, but it's harder to drill accurately without the guiding pin and I've destroyed wrists that way (repaired with some putty, after painting, barely noticeable đ ). Also apply only minimal pressure, push very lightly and spin slowly. Would be easier with 1mm, but I find it doesn't hold as well.đ Good luck!đđ
Very enjoyable and informative video! Sorry if you mentioned in the vid but did you only use 2mm size magnets?
2mm yes (I tried with 1mm, but they would not hold đ)
@@paniccoffeeimpressive you were able to magnetize the guns and arms with that size!
Thanks! I have to admit, it was tedious đ«š, but yes, possible. âđđ
Where did you get that tray from that is very helpful would love to get something similar
It saves a ton of clean up time, keeps off most of the dust on my table! :)
It's a product made by Plamokojo (Work Station), you can get it from various Japanese hobby shops online like HLJ, Plaza Japan or Amimi.
