- From Martian crabs to strange lights. From Bigfoot sightings to complex patterns, in this video we’re going to bring you the very best of Martian anomalies. This is our biggest and most anticipated video ever, so let’s get right into it.
One of the most famous Martian anomalies is the face on Mars. Captured in 1976 by NASA’s Viking-1 orbiter, it provided decades of suspense and wild theories before more detailed images could be taken to put the matter to bed in 2001.
So why do we clearly see a face in the 1976 image? This is down to a phenomenon called pareidolia, where humans are biologically programmed to look for patterns in random data. It’s the reason we see faces in clouds and was a useful thing for our ancestors to survive in the wild.
In 2017, Curiosity snapped a picture, which some have pointed out contains what looks like a cannonball. Again, pareidolia is likely at play.
This so-called cannonball is only a quarter inch, or 5 millimetres in size. It is actually a pebble made from hematite, a substance commonly found on Mars. What is interesting however, is that the presence of hematite signals an abundance of water in the ancient past.
There are many other examples of anomalies on Mars that are suspected to be a result of pareidolia, such as this so-called ‘human thigh bone’.

NASA routinely alters photos of Mars. For instance, the orange tint they added to all photos of Mars. When they were called out on it, they dropped the practice but it makes you wonder what else they have manipulated.

Actually, it was discovered that NASA altered the picture of the face , so it no longer resembles a face, they also made pictures of Mars appear orangish. Their are some pretty good pictures of Mars and it doesn't look that alien at all.

I wish there was some sort of scale ruler shown with each picture/image. I often can't tell if the rocks we're looking at in the picture are close-ups two inches long or two yards long.
In the crab case, I truely consider that thing is not a dang rock.
Pareidolia is a cool thing to note. I often kayak along cliff sides where I live and I pass by two rock faces that I call “the Hawk’s beak” and “the Chief” because I see a pattern in the two faces, which I use to navigate.

Yeah pareidolia is crazy next to the face it looks like there’s a bunch of pyramids and structures that happen to match the Pleiades and Phobos has something that looks like a monolith it’s probably our overactive mental associations lol like the people on earth who build pyramids also build monoliths and align things to the cardinal directions or stars and happened to religiously use red paint and clay mining hematite and painting it on there skin for sunscreen and religious reasons the brain always looks for patterns like the cannon pall to me looks like a mushroom or the white calcium carbonate seen all over rocks looks like roots which when fossilized on earth are made of the same compound. Pareidolia is wild every time I look at a mirror a square object I see a face. Just like it’s a coincidence there’s seasonal methane increase and decrease which would on earth be methanogenic bacteria and methane reducing bacteria but on mars it’s rocks and swamp gas
Pareidolia is an Orwell word. It's designed to make those who see unexplained phenomena on Mars as maybe a little "off," a bit whacked, you know...not mentally stable. I call it Paradiddle. What I always ask is: who decides what is paradiddle in the first place? NASA scientists? Do they decide what is real on Mars? Who appointed them? I have collected close to 200 pictures of very unusual artifacts on Mars, and seen hundreds more. They are not naturally formed. Why people ridicule the fact that there was/is life up there, I do not comprende. Perhaps they have teensy little minds. That seems very likely.
In conclusion: "What you have seen is not what you have seen."
They would not let us see any images containing extraterrestrial life, Im sure they have many more images that haven’t been released. Also it’s funny how they have an explanation for everything 😂

A friend of mine that does not have pareidolia. Observing the picture above of the Face on Mars. did not only see the Humanoid face, he also saw four animal faces. On the lower left of the picture, southwest of the Face of Mars is the face of a Polar Bear, Nearer to the Face on Mars, to the immediate southeast is the face of a canine looking animal possibly a fox. Directly south of the Canine face is a chimpanzee face and Southeast of the Canine face is a face resembling the creature from the Black Lagoon, Fishman. Before the advent of face recognition cameras, He did this job for a firm that he can not reveal. Observations from a person that was trained to do facial recognition. Bt Spook Anamoly Hunter. Out

The Manhattan skyline is mere pareidolia. You are looking at nothing more than random columnar basalt along the shoreline.
The " lights " are most likely a reflection from a rock or crysta that is reflecting light from the sun. As 8planet rotates the reflection goes away because the angle is no longer correct to reflect the light back to the camera.
The cavity or hole found in the Swiss Cheese area is probably an underground sinkhole that is now collapsing in on itself. In time the hole will enlarge and the entire dome of the roof of the cavity will fall into the open area and we'll see another crater like structure.

Sorry but NASA HAS announced findings like that. Several times. Like when they made a huge announcement that they found fossil bacteria on mars in 1996 only to find out later it wasn’t organic at all. They made such a huge deal, even the president came on TV to speak about how amazing the finding was...

Trying to claim nasa would “be the first to conceal” evidence of life is factually incorrect - obviously, they don’t have some sort of supersecret mandate to obfuscate evidence of alien life that they find considering They publish and heavily publicize Every single funding that even hints at the possibility of other life other places they explored, they have ACTUALLY ANNOUNCED they found life in the past. Clearly they're not trying to hide something which would *literally* be the biggest funding and attention bonanza for them since Apollo.
Personally being neither for or against any interpretation of these images, I did find it interesting that they also make the same claim in the beginning of their video...Then on every image they offer some alternate rational reason why they're perfectly natural. They're all pareidolia, or the image was compressed first, or it's cosmic rays. Then they go on to poke fun at the whole thing at the very end of the video. Although they claim to not be biased, their true opinion is clearly revealed.
Those 4k images lets me breathless! I can almost put my head inside of the screen and take that sand with my hands. If it doesn't exists yet, i can barely wait top see someone exploring Mars with a Oculust Rift. With those new tecnologies and AI video stuff, you'll be able to walk around after making this photographs a 3d scenery!

Pareidolia and natural rock formations as well as sun light reflection are the explanation for the anomalies. I'm glad this video acknowledges these simple explanations rather than just making wild claims without further proof.

When that so called Big Foot on Mars picture was first released on You Tube. You could see He was wearing a hooded robe. He is resting his right hand on a metal cane. He is also wearing a mask. In the original picture you could see the eye slots on it. And he is looking directly at the Mars Rover. There was one more picture You Tube took down. It was of an massive animal that was shocked at seeing the Mars Rover. Than it look away.

I browse all the mars pictures since the first rover missions and it's amazing what they send back. They are designed to take pictures of "objects of interest". What most people see is rock and iron oxide dust. But look more closely and you will notice some rocks have very distinct patterns and very sharp angles I doubt wind alone could do.

Another possible cause for the flash of light: Static discharge. A lot of dry sand blows around, static builds, and a spark is produced.

The pareidolia explanation for the face at Cydonia has been debunked. It's not pareidolia. JPL had to later admit the 1998 Image from Mars Global Surveyor was subjected to some pretty aggressive filtering to take out the relief and detail. First they put it through a low-pass filter and then a high-pass. The resulting flat-looking dirt scratchings were then referred to as the "cat box image". After the first strikingly good image was taken in 1976 by the Viking orbiter, NASA lied and said another picture taken two days later proved it was a trick of light and shadow. That was a lie. No such "debunking" photo was taken at the time they said, and they couldn't produce one, either. Please people, when you're explaining something, don't use some hackneyed "official" explanation if it doesn't fit the facts.

I’ve seen a multitude of many other objects that are undeniably artificial and can’t be explained away. Also the infamous face on Mars is indeed artificial. If you look carefully at the face in detail many geometric and structural signs can be seen. Not to mention the pyramids around cydonia.
Yeah i noticed immediately he didn't show the actual pyramids. Just mocked a picture of a triangular rock on a hill. And he basically sucked NASA's c*ck the whole time, even though there is proof that the updated face image had like 15 layers of photoshop filters, and not to mention autocolor proves that they were adding red filters to old images of Mars for some dumb reason.

It does seem a bit convenient though, when you get these low resolution or far away images when you have something "controversial" that requires a closer look. And yet there's plenty of high resolution images of other things.
How come they haven't made any efforts that we know of to make a trip to or to get some good orbiter images of the infamous Martian monolith? You would think that would be one of the first places they would want to go.

Crystal clear 4K pictures from Mars and yet 90% of all security cameras can't get any better than 8 bit resolution.
Security cameras are at very first just to scare people off, and it works majority of time. As statistics show.
Imagine stores putting up 4k cameras, what kind of storage capacity they would need for this resolution and all the money to buy the cams and harddrives.
99% of security camera footage is useless so making it he would waste a lot of storage for no reason

It's extremely mind-blowing for me as I attempt to wrap my head around the fact that I'm actually looking at photos from the surface of Mars -- Mars!! Kudos to ElderFox Documentaries for their professionalism in presenting these awesome videos,. You also chose an excellent narrator as well who does an excellent job of explaining everything, all with a very educated, soothing voice. I eagerly anticipate seeing the videos of Perseverance's observations. It's all very exciting. 😊

Know what i like about the disturbed rock? How the rover managed to dislodge a martian rock of that size from outside the shot ahead and or directly behind of its path... Without actually disturbing any of the other rocks in the shots? like it managed to drag and disturb a rock that is not in shot on the first image into the shot on the second image, yet it could not disturb any of the smaller rocks in its path, out of shot two, that where in shot one? Peculiar,eh?

you can tell those pictures from the rover, that that was once the bottom of an ocean or sea. Only the rocks, with that "windswept" look, look identical to rocks found in Mauritania and north sahara where we now know there was a sea or ocean.

The greatest example of pareidolia is the Alan hills meteorite sample from mars that had micro structures that looked like and were made of the same exact molecules and the same exact scale as hypothesized archaic bacteria. But can’t be life cause it’s hundred million years older than life on earth or if life started on mars which would be crazy not like it has far better chemistry for early rna formation as compared to the earth which had water salt water which is definitely not corrosive to rna
