The rain falls in rhythmic patters, creating a serene symphony that mingles with the distant, haunting echoes of a Gregorian chant from a nearby cathedral. Preferring the tranquil embrace of the grove, the knight remains hidden from the world.
The knight, burdened by his affliction, finds solace in the healing rain. Cool droplets trace paths down his worn tunic, washing away the weariness of countless journeys. His eyes, shadowed by fatigue, close as he breathes in the damp, earthy scent of the forest floor.
A raven’s mournful caw cuts through the stillness, its dark form occasionally glimpsed through the fog-draped trees. The bird’s call, though melancholic, adds to the meditative ambience, grounding the knight further in his secluded sanctuary.
The deep Gregorian chant, a resonant hymn of divine healing, wafts through the air. Yet, the knight remains rooted in his solitude, finding profound peace in the natural chorus around him. The sacred melody, though distant, intertwines with the gentle rain and rustling leaves, creating a dark, immersive experience.
In this moment, the leper knight is at peace. His isolation, a sanctuary of tranquility and reflection, offers a stark contrast to the tumultuous world beyond the grove. Here, amidst the rain and mist, the knight of St. Lazarus finds a rare and precious serenity.

The Leper Crusader King of Jerusalem... I've been thinking alot about him recently, then this came out. As I understand it, leprosy causes loss of feeling in one's limbs. For a knight this is quite a disadvantage. The pain of wearing armour or riding a horse is blinding and you do, actually become blind. I feel one does not need to ascribe to any belief to respect the fortitude of the leper knight.
I'm not Christian (rather agnostic), but somehow the Gregorian chants makes me feel emotional whenever I listen to them 😭❤️

Calm and emotionally stirring atmospheric music. Makes me think of a potential medieval Moon Knight.
Claiming to be plauged by leprosy so he doesn't have to reveal who he is or was underneath.
Devoted to his cause, he is now only a symbol. No individual identity just a living cause wrapped in the cloth of his devotion.
