  • This video features Richard Holden, the Gourmet BBQ chef, and Ian Hodgett, from Hayes Garden World, who explain what the Weber Gourmet Barbecue System (GBS) is and what accessories are available. These accessories can open up a whole new world of BBQ cooking; well away from the traditional burgers and sausages. We have further videos showing you just how versatile these accessories are on our youtube channel and on the website. The Sear Grate gives you those perfect caramelisation stripes on your steak which can be quite difficult, especially on a gas BBQ. The Griddle is a really useful piece of equipment as it can be used for small pieces of fish, pancakes, breakfast or anything which has a sauce; we demonstrated how to cook baked eggs in a spicy tomato sauce.
Next up are the Pizza Stone, which is fairly self-explanatory, and the Poultry Roaster. This can be used for any bird which is large enough to fit over the central well. You can not only use beer in the well, but wine, cider or stock and also incorporate some herbs for an extra layer of flavour. This is the one-stop piece of kit for cooking the Sunday roast; pop the bird over the central well and the potatoes and vegetables in the basket around the bird. When the veggies are ready take them out and put them to one side; then just pop them back in to re-heat when the bird is cooked and resting. You can also just use it to roast vegetables, just take out the central well and you have a cooking basket.
If you love a stir fry then the Wok is an essential piece of kit; we’ve produced another video showing how to cook a stir fry in less time than it takes to order a take-away; it’s also tasty, cheaper and healthier. We’ve also used it to cook chilli con carne, so watch out for that video. It is also useful for risottos, paella or moules mariniere; turn it upside-down, get it really hot and it is ideal for cooking naan breads in seconds.
The dual-purpose Waffle Iron/Sandwich Press is a bit of a luxury but makes a fantastic breakfast waffle you can dress with almost anything; sweet or savoury. We made them with blueberries, banana, Nutella and maple syrup, so check out the video (recipe on the website). The final item is the Dutch Oven which opens up a new world of casseroles and stews on the BBQ. The GBS is available to fit a large range of the Weber barbecues, both charcoal and gas, coming as standard on many models. With accessories like these you need never clean your cooker again!

With regards to the chicken roaster, what happens to the juice from the bird? wasted into the bottom of the barbecue?

Great video! I wouldn't have thought of using the poultry tray without the insert as a regular veg tray or turning the wok upside down for naan bread etc. Thanks for the video.

Does the pizza take on a Charcoal flavor, like a grilled hamburger does?

Here in the USA -- as of January 2019 -- the Dutch oven and the waffle iron are not being sold. There are third-party products that will fill those niches, but having the Weber-made ones would have been nice. I see they're still on Weber's UK Web site, but not the USA one.

We in the US aren't good enough to offer them to in Weber's eyes, I suppose. :( Not like they're a US-based company or anything...Oh wait...they are. WTF Weber?! Hayes, will you ship to the USA, and would we need to pay VAT?

I just bought I new weber kettle grill. The pamphlet insert shows these as well as a cast iron muffin setup and another thing to do steam. I'm pretty upset they aren't available to U.S.. I really want the beer can chicken setup. One can only hope, I guess.

I see everything but the rotisserie. But very nice.

The rotisserie isn't part of the GBS (Gourmet BBQ System). It's a separate item that doesn't require the GBS grate to use it.
