Even though I'm sure most of us know that the reason Kimberly married that man was to get her "fairytale wedding" that she's always dreamed of and not because she really loved him. I don't think that North had to pay for that. Though, I will admit that the thought of Kris Humphries being North's father would have been hilarious and a bit mischievous, I don't think an innocent child should have to suffer because of that. Kris did get a large sum of cash at the end of the divorse, so it's not like he left empty handed.

I think he was holding out for an annulment. I don't know if he's Catholic or not, but if he is I can't blame him. Then he can get married in the Church later. A divorce makes it more difficult. However, given the circumstances he may not have any problems.

My sister-in-law married a man who decided he was gay after two years of marriage. It took a while and a lot of testimony from those who knew the couple. Yet, it was annulled in the end. I felt so very badly for her.
Marriages have been annulled for less. It just depends on how much money you have to give the church for it.
