Love to do a lot finger pickings on my Taylor 214ce
as it plays so smoothly. Taylor guitars make the difference ❤, even if you only can afford a Mexican made , like mine .
For sure! Both of my 200's are made in mexico and the quality is just as on point as my 300's made in the USA. In fact, in some ways I actually prefer my 214 over my 314.
I keep hearing good things about Taylors, and have been considering upgrading to one soon, but they always sound a little tinny to my ears. I currently own a Yamaha CPX-900 Grand Auditorium sized guitar, which cost me a fraction of what a new Taylor costs, and I get a much richer sound from it with some nice bottom-end tones, even when strung with light gauge. I don't like to hear the word "laminate" when I hear a review of a guitar that costs the better part of £2000 UK.
I bought my Taylor 210ce about 10 years ago It does seem to have a lot more brass than my Martin even with the tone controls I think I paid 1100!dollars back then so like everything they have gone up in price😢
I have a Taylor Custom 224ce-K-DLX and I don’t actually use Elixir coated strings, because if other coated strings can have good tone and not dull, it will also be good to play songs.
I often use Daddario Exp16 coated strings and Martin Lifespan 2.0
I've had less than stellar results using other coated strings for some reason. I've tried Cleartone, Martin, and Daddario. As of now nothing has beat elixer for my playing in my opinion.

Martin use to offer custom light retro strings but I haven't been able to find them for awhile Fortunately I have a couple sets still I use them on my Taylor 210ce😊

Hi Brad, do you use Daddario Xt in your Taylor 214ce? I had Taylor 224ce k Deluxe and I use Daddario Xt Phosphor bronze, and I also use Elixir strings.
No, I only use Elixer. I like the coating, tone, and lifespan!

Sorry about the late reply! I usually start with the guitar and let whatever I come up with there set the tone and give me an idea of the topic. Then I try to find words that flow and/or rhyme and go from there!

Did you just shave off the saddle? It looks like it has low action.
200=series, 14=body meets neck at 14th fret.
That’s actually incorrect per Taylor.
200 = series
1 = top wood, spruce
4 = body style, grand auditorium.
That’s why there’s also a 224. The numbering doesn’t have anything to do with where the neck meets the body. Though I can see how you made that assumption!
Yeah I think he's right I have a 210ce and I do believe I have more than the high E cmon😊

Everyone has their own thing. These guitars have a sound that accompany many singer songwriters very well, and when I went to pick out my first "serious" acoustic to gig with, the guitar that came out on top in every area in my price point was the Taylor 210e. Sound and feel could not be topped for what I was spending. Later down the line when I upgraded I stayed with Taylor for the same reasons. In fact, in a short while I have a video coming that compares 2 US made Taylors with different wood pairings. A 314CE-K Limited and a 324CE.
Well....I leave that to the bass player.
