But he really didn't fully understand it. The point about not caring who's behind the character and Kizuna when the company was pretty much forced to make the three characters BECAUSE people cared about the OG voice actress and didn't want any switches to be done. You can't one day exchange Korone's VA and expect it to be smooth sailing, Hololive would have a company destroying backlash for it, other members would leave as they are often friends IRL, it'd be a disaster.

A VTuber model is an animated toon with a streamer personality, the streamer doesn't act whacky and flirtatious off-camera, fans are fine to treat them like an interactive cartoon. In truth, only a tiny portion of it is a character, and the "multiple people playing Kizuna Ai" experiment ended in a failure precisely because personality is so tied to their appeal. So this part doesn't really make much sense and seems like a lack of knowledge.
What would make much more sense to address is how there are very popular Japanese youtubers out there who are not vtubers and do show their face, and yet somehow it's these avatar users that get international fame for some reason. Their personalities are the same as before they became vtubers, so why did adopting this avatar make them so famous? On one hand, you can feel happy about their newfound success, on the other hand, one feels a little sad that they are only famous by not showing their real face.

@@sabus1265 I watch clips of V-Tubers and I have a social life, go drink with friends, go on dates found through Tinder, and all that jazz. A person's hobby or shouldn't reflect their personality. I know watching V-Tubers isn't a "Normal" hobby, but it was the same with anime back in the early 2000s to 2010s. Clearly, you watch anime (I think) but it was widely despised and hated. These days it's become widely accepted. People who watched it were considered the absolute lowest of the low scum. I will agree that a big demographic as you say is that of lonely people but it's not as one-sided as you think.

This video feels really refreshing to watch because I was just talking to someone the other day about how the "ugguu i'm an anime babyyyy" voice thing really just worked my last nerve. Why is that a thing that caught on and became popular? It's just ridiculous.

Nah, they pulled out because they were too scared of a few Chinese fans and HoloCN didn't make them much money. They ended up pulling support from all of their partnered Chinese streamers when they really should have never had a Chinese branch to begin with.

@@shadi2962 While it is true that part of the company cared, last I checked Hololive isn’t a small company. Yes, some higher ups actually do care about the sanity of the talents, but do you think the execs and shareholders cared? Coco was the highest earning member and there was no way higher ups would let her go. Yet people try to say “but Hololive and Cover Corp. love their talents, they’re small companies!” They aren’t, they are still at heart a multi million dollar company, and the share holders will make the most profitable decision.

As someone that really loves Vtubers, I really found this very funny and entertaining. With the title I was a bit scared that this will be pure hatred since to me the word "hate" is very strong but I really do understand where the critism comes from, is just not your cup of tea (which most normal people would think the same).
At least it makes me happy, as someone that loves your content, that you still understood why people like it and not being this unreasonable person, also I love the fact that you like korone.
