@@mirvuuson hammer ons and pulling off isnt showing off man, all it is is just playing notes with just your fretting hand and not the strumming hand. for example, on a hammer on you just play a note, like D (5th fret on A string) which you also use your strumming hand with, then you just tap / press down on something like E (7th fret on A string) and dont have to use your strumming hand. its not showing off at all, if anything it makes it easier, coming from an intermediate guitar player here
This is exactly why more musicians should dive deep into music theory. Apply this technique to multiple scales with varying rhythms and you’ve got yourself a killer solo!
I’m late to this, so you probably already have the answers if you’ve already been playing another year but a couple things…you can get pedal tones to increase the sustain which will let the notes continue to ring longer, but also on the pull offs, don’t just lift your finger straight off…kind of do a little “mini pluck” if that makes sense… at full speed. It’s not even visibly noticeably different from a straight up zero force pull off with practice. It doesn’t take more movement than just a straight pull off. It’s just getting a feel for a kind of just pulling up the string ever so slightly on your pull off and letting it roll off your finger. That will act basically as another pick creating a whole new cycle of vibration without having to use your picking hand
That guitar fast part reminded me of Parkway Drive. I'm trying to work on my guitar shredding more. I've gotten much better over the years. I'm a Metalhead and a Classical Musician so I wanted to play both instruments. I've been playing keyboard for 15 years while I've only been playing electric guitar for 6 years and I've been a Metalhead for 14 years.
It is weird how licks or riffs you thought would be impossible when you start off then years down the road your thinking to yourself how simple it actually is. The simplest riffs and licks are always the catchiest and most popular.
In other words .. play thunderstruck in 5 different keys
😂😂
There are no pull offs or hummer ons in Thunderstruck.
@@Alex19II Angus use them sometimes live

"Really easy to pull-off"... I see what you did there
Bro's pull off game is strong

Now I can shred! Time to start my own CZcams Channel.
Do it!! 🤘🤘
Yeah do it ! I wanna learn 😂🤣
Rock on 🤘
I'm right behind u brother 🤣
First shred lick I learned now I'm sweeping and speed picking like crazy definitely worth it
Dude well explained. I wish I had these videos when I was learning
Thanks!! 😎😎🎸
Did u learn everything by now ye?
"Give it a go" 3 year later.......I know one note😀
😂
This dude is underrated, i learned to solo in 1 minute with that technique
Me with an acoustic guitar:
Ok
uh ok
Me shredding on a acoustic:
I hope your fingers survived 😂
Second part of The highway Star solo
Yes!
This is amazing. This is on tonight’s practice agenda
Okay dude can you tell me does this really works😭🙏
This reminds me of my back neighbours that jumped over the fence while my son was at home
Nice one mate!
Thanks Cameron!! 🤘🤘
It’s such a good video to learn how to shred
And that's how Thunderstruck was born.
That was pretty sick man 🙏🏼🙌🏼🤘🏼🔥❤️
My son was sitting under a tree once and the lady from the back fence jumped over and questioned him and this guy reminds me of her
Thank you so much Maestro! ....
Awesome.
This is one of the first legato shred techniques I taught myself when playing
Brilliant!! 👍
🙆🏽♂️Aye dope vid, gracias ☮️
This made me subscribe and now on my way to buying my first ever guitar. I’m getting an electric one!!
This help me so much I just started to play e-guitar
That technique is a good portion of Prince's solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Thank you bro
actually this lick is in whiplash by metallica
Yes! Lol
How to I get my guitar to keep playing without killing the vibration when hammering on and off? (New player)

Thanks 🙏 I am playing the electric guitar 👍
That is cool dude
You're cool dude! 👍
I do the doom main theme on the open E instead of A and E alternate picking. It reeeeally helps in my little practice routine
The thing you did at the end sounded to me a lot like for whom the bell tolls at day on the green
Yes licks which seem difficult but are actually easy. Right on point ...
Thanks now Ik that 1 thing I should know!💯
This is a great video and demonstrates what is at work in the intro to Thunderstruck.
My boy, ur a savage!! Thank u!!

Hooray for pedal tones
Thank you
Thunder!
This is awesome dude
You're awesome Vedho!! 🤘🤘
I did give it a go and it worked
Cool!
Perfect
Eddie Van Halen was doing this type of tricks in his solos and i remember something like this at 5150 1986 solo
Eddie was a master!! 🤘🤘
I’ve been using this technique is some solos and it’s really fun to do in just about any key and pace
But hammer on pull off kinda lower grade than alternate picking... The enthusiasm when you play fast full scale alternate picking is so magic
That's interesting. I have a video about this subject on my channel.
Everyone saying it sounds like thunderstruck vs me who immediately thought of The Handler by Muse
Bro Ong😂😂
Such a bad ass song tho
haha same here!
Groovy! I dig this video.
Thanks!!
Cool! It’s like thunderstruck with the b string and hammer-ons + pull offs. And the progression actually.
thunderstruck into reverse be like
Was low key expecting Trough the fire and flames' intro riff xD
dude you’re a twin of jack white
You should meet my sister, Meg.
I simply love this guitar! Got one laser blue and one Vimpire kiss!’😊😊
Kinda reminds me of the start of "Fight Fire ₩ith Fire"
Excellent!! Thanks 🙏
Good shit mate!
Awesome tool 🤘thanks
That reminds me of machine heads Darkness within Solo
hell yes! i was thinking the same
Thunderstuck is played with alternative picking people in the comments doing with hammer one and pull offs is wrong
Oh thx i have some insight rn
I didn’t know I could do that until just now. I’ve gotten decent at hammers and pull offs it just never occurred to me to use them like that.
"Way of the Warrior" and "Secrets" by Hammerfall
Dude reminds me of Rick from Young Ones! (Rik Mayall)
That is the single biggest compliment one could ever receive. I love Rik Mayall!
Thankd anthony now i can also shredddddddd🤘🤘

Amazing - ty!
You just exposed my only lick. Now I have to come up with another lazy lick that sounds like I can actually play a decent lead...
Basically what Angus does!
I love your accent sound like the Yorkshire tiers singing about gravy lol
Cool.. thanks for posting
Awesome!
i have the same quatar!
This got not only a like but a sub too.
Great idea.
Thanks Paul! Welcome to the channel!!
You are amazing mate!
🔥🔥
💥💥💥
Thank you.
Basically the last half of the 2'nd I Believe In A Thing Called Love solo
Oh looks fun
Really neo classical
You can also tap it
Here's a minor scale "Thunderstruck"
Super cool easy lick. 🇨🇦🎵🎸🍻
Thank you sir!
I do this all the time n people are so amazed lmao
Fantastic! Signed, New Sub
Spud from Trainspotting
Thanks
Or eruption tapping
Thanks!
"it's really easy" proceeds to play faster than I can after multiple years of practice
Coool
Nice
Prince's "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" solo
For a second it sounded like King For A Day
by pierce the veil or green day
I hear a little bloody tears in there !
I have a question for you: Could this be done on acoustic guitars as well ?
100% But you need a little more force 😃👍
I like your guitar and I will try it 👍
Makes me think of the solo in "The End of Heartache."
Great stuff man-thought you were Mr. Bean for a second 😂😂
“Really easy to pull off” i see what you did there 🤣
