Your right but what I meant was when I fail or fall short of the glory of God or when I’m weak his strength and grace are shown to me in my life and I understand that i need him more than I need people , I didn’t mean when i willfully sin but when I can’t live up to what God calls me to do he then comes and by his grace shows me that he can while I cannot , but I understand what you mean

Yes - we must love God before all else. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. It should be utterly unforgivable for a child of God to break the first commandment - yet we have all done it. We are incapable of a sinless life but we have to help ourselves by wanting to please God - with God's help, which glorifies Him. It shifts the focus of our lives while not undermining our need to be Christ-like to one another, often difficult at times but again we have to look to the author and finisher of our faith for guidance, sustenance and merciful grace in this respect. We cannot serve two masters. God gives us the strength to resist the devil, again glorifying Him but we have to want that.
"For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?" Hebrews 12:6-9
The key is with "god's help" we can please Him. That's so ironic and comforting all at the same time. That we could never do it without Him, and with Him in the picture, there isn't really much we have to do...other than open up our hearts :)

(With technicality because also like Zachariah 11 he was worked through by the Lord.. not that he was the Lord.. so Jesus also said "I am the Father")

Hey, I read your comment and I see you already have many talking to you about what you've said here and I just want to say I've had thoughts like this before, in my longing for a godly dad I never had, and I've even had times where I even directed this to pastors I've known, but what I've learned is this ALL earthly fathers are broken as even the best of them will fail at some point godly and ungodly! This has caused me to look up to THE Dad infinitely better than any earthly dad I could EVER have. My Heavenly Father, the ONE Who knows infinitely more about Himself than anyone except JESUS and He invites us to sit at His feet and ask all the questions our hearts long to know! In Colossians it's written that In the Father and Son is hid ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge like He told me I tell you "search Him (God)😊 I love John too but the one speaking in and through him, pointed me to Himself as the answer to the very same cry. The Spirit of His Son in us crys Abba Father! And He is jealous for ALL of our attention!😊
JesusIStheonlyway yea, God did speak to me a few weeks ago, saying He was a jealous God towards me. Thanks for that! I will certainly continue to seek God, He has sheltered and protected me through trials an earthly father could never do. I love wisdom, love love love, so though I am at peace with the situation, I was just extendending my desire to be around such a man of God, only because of he's wisdom and truth, so I can just pry pry pry he's mind. But this is what this platform is for. I am never shy to ask God for what I'd like for Him to give me. I am He's orphan by default that my family tried to kill me too many times to count, so God took me up, He answers my requests beyond my expectations, I guess reason I am not shy to ask, is I believe, God can do and will do whatsoever I ask, according to He's Will. Thank you so much for that sound words of wisdom. And I will certainly continue to pry God, lol God continue to bless and multiply fruitfully, abundantly in your life. 🙏💓💓💓💓🌹
Amen! I don't just say this because it's the truth, I say this because it's how I'd been living my life trying to ease my conscience of suffering the consequences of my inquiries and it's no wonder that I'd been so restless and having many sleepless nights. All because of fear of Hell and just looking at my lifestyle as a burden instead of really looking all around me to embrace God's true and natural beauty of things and who He is. Thank you Pastor John, I needed to hear this!
@Carlie Trogicj I just don't want to screw things up for myself that's why. I know I shouldn't fear hell but what I mean is I don't want to be too comfortable or harden my heart from God and what He wants from me, If that makes sense?

Lord, thank you for helping me change, but at the same time pointing me to you to look at! Lord, in accordance with this word and psalm 23, hebrews 12:2, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I bind to hell every overly focus on oneself in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquitances, opponents and the body of Christ while Bindi g one to focus more on Christ than on oneself, binding to hell every unequal yoke and common share with anyone overly focusing on oneself while lacking to focus more on Christ, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah, glory to God ❤!

What if I believe in Jesus and try to obey out of fear fear of Hell and it feels obligatory instead of out of love? I'm terrified because it's hard to kill my sin, love God when I fear Him so much, and to forgive people in my heart. I feel crunched for time because the end is near and that's hindering me too. I feel like a legalist because I think I'm too dependent on (obiligatory) works instead of the love of God that kills sin in itself. I've been praying for months but I haven't changed.

The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, scripture says. Keep seeking him and talking to God, let his Word speak and ask that he would show you wonderful things! Ask that he will open the eyes of your heart to behold him as the greatest treasure, so that your satisfaction may not come from worldly pleasure but from the supreme pleasure of right relationship with him

First of all, they can't do that unless they first have the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit it is considered "natural health" to put oneself first. Nothing else makes sense except in a communal setting where one is dependent on the community and the community is securing one's needs. The believer living a self-focused life will suffer the tension between the two. The Spirit led life is not an option to be enticingly offered, it is their spiritual birthright and a necessity as it is essential to their new nature and life. It is a leader's obligation to usher believers into the living of the Spirit-led life. Paul was an excellent example.
Can I fake living for God’s glory? Unfortunately I don’t see God as the ultimate treasure and in truth all I want is for those that I love and for myself included to avoid hell. How is that not a good enough reason for him to accept me?

No one wants to go to hell no matter what religion you are. Theirs nothing special about that. You need to have a true love for Christ and follow him to be saved. But also thats just the beginning I suggest you pray to God and read your Bible. There is so much beauty in the Bible and in Jesus. But if God allows you to see it you will never turn to the world again. I’m telling you this because God allowed me to see his beauty. I gladly put the alcohol down and all my other crutches for him. He’s worth the fight.

This is interesting because as an interpretation, in one way Christ, ... organism (person, being) (Chai x Cairo.. dna, biological. Symbolically), this is oversimplified but the works of Christ who is Jesus.. belong to Him.. although there is regulation of the church, of Him, which I oppose, at least we are making way. You'll have to not forgive me that I'm right and that I have little time to find pleasure in these nice things when everything is regulated of Him and His for profit. But I believe that however unpatentable, it is not belonging to government to take from the church any part of Him and His stuff. The God of the Old Testament gave us specific instructions and Jesus Came and Gave His Life to Give us those same instructions..Again..with forgiveness added and a little more detail. And these pastors do Not teach the commandments..they teach the opinions of men and their own opinions and they mislead people and violate Gods commandments and cause other people too. You have said this numerous times on his page. Every sermon John ever preaches is pointing to Jesus not himself. In fact in all his books that he has I’ve never see one with his face on it he does not glorify himself he tries to glorify Jesus always. Again please stop going to this page some people enjoy his preaching. If you don’t like it go somewhere else I’m going to start flagging you. You’re very concerned about John piper when there’s prosperity preachers out there really teaching error.
I think the main concern should be when we seek out and rely on our idolized pastors for answers/help/guidance/provision, when we should be seeking out Jesus. Meaning reading our Bibles applying it and comparing teachings to scripture and practicing discernment. (Read Galatians) Which I think is what Kathleen is trying to say, but also remember what Jesus said in Matthew 15: 1-20 Jesus replied, "Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted, so ignore them." I don't see the need to spread division among believers on teachings and who you should follow. If they seek God out through his word the truth will be made clear. Sadly many Christians don't read their Bibles so they rely solely on being spoon fed by pastors. I used to be one of them. Read your Bible. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you as you read it.
Just because people are listening to John Piper doesn’t mean they aren’t reading their bible. I don’t know where you guys are getting that from. I like John Piper but I’m always reading the word for myself. Again John points people to the word. And John is not idolized people like Joel Olsteen are. So I don’t get the concern over this.
+His Creation..there are things that Paul said that do not line up with what Jesus said and did. At some point you will have to choose which one to believe. You cannot believe two things that oppose each other. Jesus said.."Obey My Sayings and Seek ME for Provision Everyday and the Father will protect you from evil." Chritians have this complicated theory about how you are saved that makes no sense and they tell you that your works will not save you.. which is opposite of what Jesus says. Jesus Way is very easy to understand..He gave us commandments much like God gave the Isrealites..which were guidelines and Jesus has asked us to Obey them and He Helps us do it. Jesus ministry involved women a lot..Jesus showed much respect to women and valued them. Paul said they are to cover their heads..not speak in church..and we're subject to their husbands. Jesus never organized a hierarchy church organization. Jesus definition of church was "revelation" to each person from God. these are just a few examples. There are more. I choose to believe Jesus in a heartbeat. Jesus is God. Paul was a man who never even knew Jesus personally. He put a lot of his Pharisee laws back in place. Chritians follow Paul. I have not met one who even knows what Jesus Sayings are..let alone live them. And in the end..even John lost it. He became more influenced by Paul and lost Jesus too.
Since I lost it all and God caused it, it hurts my heart that God hates so many of His creation.

+Carlie Trogicj..Jesus purpose for Coming and the entire plan of salvation is described in Matthew..first 7 chapters. Jesus said at Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus said when speaking of those saved. "For the decisive question is whether they obey my Father in Heaven." Those who ignore His instructions..He will say.."You have never been mine. Go away, for your deeds have been evil." Obeying His commandments IS what justifies you. You can read it for yourself. It is right there..plain and clear. And He also warns about those who teach another way. They are false prophets.

According to her, no... she actually believes Paul is contrary to Jesus ...meaning that he (Paul) is a heretic, so she has them at odds with each other-and therefore the Cannon of Scripture is in discontinuity and consequently in disintegration.
This means that she is in discord with the Bible as the Word of God and is therefore antichrist though she claims to speak with Christ!
She's been on here for the better part of two years blathering incoherently...
but there is the hope that God has her frequenting here as the granting of her repentance unto salvation. So though she is insufferable and speaking the nonsense of a demoniac... in a strange inversion of rationality,
this is actually the best place for her to be! God obviously and often has a peculiar way of both sending people to hell and saving people from it. At least she has made some progress from her former Mormon indoctrination... though she is quite repulsive to "listen" to.
And even more surreal is the fact that much of her lingo is an alignment with "Christian speak"... and there are times when her and multiple unsuspecting Christians are chiming in harmoniously yet they have no idea that each other believes totally different things!

Like one of the responders in this thread, I am seriously grieved by your constant badgering and reproach you’re heaping on John Piper’s preaching and on those who listen to him. Does the Word not say in 1 Cor 1:21 that “Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.” I listen to John Piper as a preacher, because I ALREADY believe in Jesus Christ. Neither I, nor most anyone else here, I assume, listens to him as a messiah. But rather as a preacher who is foolish enough to tell us the truth about the glory and grace of God in Jesus Christ. That is simply all. I am partly moved about you, because I know there is likely some element of sincerity in you that is motivating you to warn us against not setting only Christ as our chief cornerstone, and to not follow after false teachers. But if you had ears to hear, you would hear what the Spirit is saying through Piper’s preaching. It’s not idolatry. I do know this, though, that you have the spirit of an accuser... which may be of Satan. If you want to rebuke. I will rebuke you in truth. Stop coming into these video comments dropping landmines to incite confusion and chaos. The fact that you never respond to secondary comments shows that you’re not interested in saying these comments in love and in truly saving people from their supposed “error”, but rather you merely want to condemn people, which is not from the Spirit of God. I beg you, stop. Yes, I admit that Piper preaches quite passionately, and from the basis of a deep deep systematic theology. So, his preaching is never really shallow. And so in this I can see how he might be an easy person to over rely on. But didn’t even the believers in Corinth over emphasize their allegiance to Apollos? YET, in correcting them about this, Paul never said, ‘stop this because Apollos is a fraud’ or that his listeners were frauds... he merely reminded them of who it was that died for them!.. namely, Jesus Christ! In the complexity and depth of Piper’s preaching, I can certainly see the danger in it for an unwise and/or unregenerate hearer, but, conversely, therein also lies his effectiveness. He is not merely just preaching the sincere milk of the Word, but also the meat of it! He is CLEARLY intent on beseeching his listeners to be reconciled to God and to magnify the glory of God through faith in Jesus Christ. You grieve me. And as a believer, I urge you to stop... To examine yourself.... And to look on the author and finisher of your faith. Quit trying to confuse and condemn people.
