  • Satan tries to convince us that our suffering is meaningless. But God says that every millisecond of his children’s suffering is adding to their reward in the next life.

Share your loss with many as there is “one “ who’ll need to hear how you’ve coped before he loses his battle and succumbs to what many have tried, like myself, but hopefully he’ll fail and find HIM
You’ve had a trial and now you have a testimony, use it for the glory of God and further his kingdom
Your baby is with HIM and is watching you and waiting for you to make his Heavenly Father smile
      Bless you sir

We have daughter with severe Autism. Doni meltdowns down and becomes violent. This suffering has brought me to low places where all I had to hope for or rely on is the grace of God. It is sufficient. This is poem I wrote about it.
    Letting Go
    You were so small
    when handed to me
    -dark purple and still-
    you barely breathed.
    I hardly did, too…
    while waiting to see
    why you didn't cry
    or move suddenly.
    I held you tight,
    I wouldn't let go
    in that first moment
    unable to know…
    just what you needed
    or how to find it-
    that first of many moments,
    if I could rewind it…
    would I have you again?
    Knowing how it's been…
    so hard for you
    in a world
    you can't choose…
    where crowds upset you
    and people stare,
    where words are like
    a den of snares
    that trap and snag you
    in their maze,
    while you wrestle
    from a daze
    they leave you hanging
    on pieces gleaning,
    as you struggle
    with gestures for meaning…
    something wanted
    something found
    something lost
    or some strange sound
    ...has sent you wailing
    high and low…
    I hold you tight,
    I won't let go.
    How to ease your pain
    I seldom know,
    but I hold you tight
    and won't let go.
    I brace for impact,
    weather the storm-
    just to keep you
    safe from harm.
    But have you again?
    Of course, I sure would!
    For one of your smiles
    shines like the sun should.
And for all of the blessings
    that came by surprise,
as it was through you that
    Christ opened my eyes…
    and showed me the point
of life as we know it-
    to lean on His grace,
    letting His power show it…
    to reach out to others
and to lift them up high,
    not shrink from our problems
or shake fists at the sky.
    And that's not to say
    it's all been a breeze,
    for I've spent many nights
    bent down on my knees…
    asking Him, “WHY?!
    Was it something I did?
    To deserve this lot,
    what crime have I hid?
    Have I passed down
    my sin to you?”
    I ask Him, “Please!”
    That it's not true!
    And in His Word,
    I have found rest.
    It's so that He'll
    be made manifest!
    And that, He is
    everyday-
    when prayer and praise
    chase fears away…
    when JOY is found
    on cloudy days,
    that is just when
    I feel Him say:
    “There's just one thing
    that you should know-
    I AM
    holding tight,
    I won't let go.”

The Lord sees you and knows. Stand your Biblical ground as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did! "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18) And of course, the Lord delivered them!
When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the LORD will take care of me. (Psalm 27)
Your times are in His hands. He sees you and He will never forsake you.

Ty so so much for this. I lost my children in 2010 bc of addiction and mental illness. I got sober for 5 years and relapsed after my house was broken into and I was severely beaten, robbed, almost raped and I was kidnapped. I have ptsd now bc of it. I relapsed six months after that happen and my children stopped all contact with me. I lost my will to live lost all hope lost my purpose in life and I have been so lost ever since. My soul is shattered my heart aches every second of every day I can not put into words the love I have for my children or the pain I endure daily bc I don't have any relationship with them. Idk how to live. I don't feel I deserve to be happy or have a good life and idk how to change that. I love every day waiting to die but God just won't take me. Idk what this is suppose to teach me I've tried so hard to look on the other side of this but I can't find one. My entire family has abandon me as well literally. I'm 35 years old and I have no one literally no one. I turned my back on God years ago bc of this, but lately I been getting these signs here and there that God's the only way I'm gonna have a fighting chance. For the first time in years in gonna sit down to pray an actual prayer not just a prayer out of fear but truly pray and talk to Him and it's bc I watched this. Ty so very much this very well could be what changes my life forever. I've been extremely suicidal for years now even worse this past year and I was planning to follow through on the 20th of this month but you just changed all of that. I'm sorry for all that you've been through, but look at this text: "For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die- but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:6-8
Regardless of all the failures we've had, the sins we've committed, and the things we've had against God, He sent His Son to die for sinners. We're all sinners "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" -Romans 3:23. We've all sinned, but He loves us and did the thing that no man could imagine, sending His Son to die for enemies, us. He calls us to repent of our sins, to turn away from them and stop doing them and turn to Him, and believe in the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) that Christ paid it all through His perfect life where he never sinned once and then died in our place bearing the wrath of God for our sins. But He came back to life after three days and proved that He paid for all sin in full and now forgiveness has been bought. Trust not in yourself, but trust in Him, in His sacrifice! "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9.
Trust in Him! Live your life for Him! Read His Word alone, the Holy Bible, and study it every day as much as you can and ask for His will to be done in your life and live your life biblically, following what the Bible says and trusting in His Son even in the midst of your struggles or sins, temptations or trials. Always repent of your sins and run to Him for everything. I wish you the best by God who is mighty to save!

@@halo7829 we pray the same way, I only ever asked God for the most basic necessities. Nothing fancy. I have also never asked for anyone to love me, because I wanted (not looking anymore) true love and for it to be true I need to be chosen by someone, God cannot hand me a man on a platter, that wouldn't be love. I also never asked Him to make it easier for me, but I constantly beg for humility and wisdom. Some people see me as arrogant, but I'm not so I don't want them to have that impression. Also we can never humble ourselves too much, we're not perfect after all. Wisdom is key as well. If you have wisdom, you know how to navigate through life, which I don't so I need to ask for it. Thank you for your comment, I really enjoyed knowing someone prays in a similar way and is not asking for Ferraris, mansions or a husband. Not that it is wrong to ask for that, God will still hear you, but it doesn't fit my personality and what I truly want.

Brilliant exposition on a topic that surely plagues us all at times. Sanctification brings greater acuity to all the horrors/suffering around us presently and in history. In my case this increased awareness has been particularly troubling and demoralizing recently. May we look, as advised, to the unseen for comfort and survival now and in the days to come.

I had an old Baptist preacher tell me once...."If you are a Born Again Believer....Satan cannot take away your Salvation because that was determined when you put your faith in Jesus as Savior...however...the Devil can make your life a living Hell while you are living now by making you as miserable as possible with poverty...want......lack of happiness.....and constantly doubting God's goodness and desire to want the best for us. So many Christians I know live from paycheck from paycheck and suffer lack of blessings.....and they see their unsaved family members and friends doing just fine...that is a HARD pill to swallow. They doubt God's willingness to provide for His children and think He is this harsh, judgmental, Old Testament deity ready to strike them down....

Pastor Piper is, as far as I know, the only one who has the exegetical courage to consider virtually all the evils of this world as direct causes of glories that vehemently contradict our earthly understanding, but which we, as born-again Christians, can grasp and appreciate in faith.
"Every millisecond of your misery produces a glory that you will receive precisely through these sufferings." through these sufferings: That is:
The sufferings are to be considered causally glorious by themselves!
No relativizations of the kind: in spite of or after....
All other exegetes always emphasize the suffering as a temporally and meaningfully insignificant evil, which is of little importance in view of the sufferings of Christ on the one hand and the blessings of the kingdom of heaven in the hereafter.
Pastor Piper's interpretation also does justice to the all-encompassing omnipotence of God, who is sovereign creator and ruler over good and "evil." This also includes all diabolic evils of this world. It is true: for those who believe in God, all things that happen to them only serve their best.
