Small, meaningful touches. Unless flags are lit at night, they’re supposed to be taken inside. The joy of celebrating becomes another ‘have to’ job. You do you, Linda.

No on the flag pole. Flags in the urns look festive and great. Definitely less is more in this situation.

I like those smaller flags and the Americana bows. They're perfect touches. One idea is to attach red, white, and blue swags from your wrought iron porch railing. I vote no big flag -- too much.

I’m with you Linda. I also go for the “cottage garden” style, and every year I choose small flags in the two pots filled with geraniums flanking my front door. I think it’s just perfect and not too much for my style of home and garden.

I need the name of the item and where to order it. I couldn’t read the label. It was at the beginning of the video today. It was in small packets. Also, please give the address for the vegetables and flowers you can buy on yesterday’s video. I never heard the address or the town it is located. I couldn’t make out the name of the place. Thanks Linda. I appreciate the extra videos you have prerecorded while you are in Scotland. Please take care of yourself. 🌻🌸🌺🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Attach a flag to your "fake door" side of your cottage. That way it's not overwhelming your front porch area, but you can see it from the side street, as well as, at your 4 way stop in front of the cottage. Visitors could enjoy it, too, walking to your backyard. It could, also, be swapped out seasonally, if you so choose.

Yes, I would keep all of the flags right where they are! You must be busy enough getting ready for your trip to Scotland. I have been busy working quite a bit out in the garden and today removed a large stone before I could go on installing. Will certainly get help from our landscaping service mulching. Thanks, for showing all of the drought tolerant plants in your garden that have grown well.

I like a flag on the house, but i live in a Colonial style house, and put up bunting too. I have studied American founding history and fly a flag because I am an America, not for current political reasons. My grandfather was Navy WWIi and my Dad airforce in 1950's.
Great hot weather plants. My delicate flowers are over this heat.

I understand the aesthetics of a flag, but flags aren't meant just for decor. It is a statement of support. Some prefer to express that with a larger flag, either on a stand attached to house or a free-standing pole. I just fly the flag for official holidays; some choose to display it every day,. To each their own.

I would love to taste the honey, but ts kind of pricey for me. Yes, always to a flag . A flag pole is a lot... but I have a flag attachment on my home and fly the flag every day . My son was in the Marine Corp for 21 years. So its for him, and all who serve . All gave some, some gave all. Have a safe, happy trip.

Love this redo style, please film more. I’m still sad about the removal of your former Potage’ , however, admire your description reference to it and hope to present myself in a similar way when I have to reference a nostalgic memory. As we gracefully age, moving forward and not getting stuck is a secret written in “The Well Lived Life” a book authored by Gladys McGarey M.D., who is 103 years old and flourishing. I pray you are safe and enjoying Scotland. See you after the 4th. ❤❤❤

Agree with Stuart and Leah-- no flagpole. It would detract more than it would add, IMHO. The smaller flags on meaningful national holidays are perfect and in keeping with the period and style of the cottage.

I have some purple cone flowers that were pink when I originally bought them. They have been in the landscape 3 or 4 seasons. They get really tall and leggy. Any suggestions to keep them more compact? Maybe it’s just a variety that grows taller than other varieties. I’m in zone 7b, northwest Georgia.

You could easily put up a flag pole on your house. My husband was a veteran and believes you should display the American flag 365 days a year to show your love of this country and to honor the men and women who fought for this country and those that died to keep us free, not just on a few certain holidays. I think the American flag is beautiful!
