When I was a kid in the early '60's my family and I fished here often. Back then it was full of timber and there was a 10 hp limit on motors. Glad to see that it's still going strong. I'll try to go there next time I'm in the area.

Good documentary. Atkins isn't the northern most lake for florida strain. Swepco lake north of siloam spring in nwa is the northern most. Why does the game and fish not stock all lakes north of atkins. Kentucky lake in Kentucky last was stocked with 220000 fingerlings and if you go directly west of kentucky lake you would be in missouri. That doesn't make any sense why you wouldn't stock north of lake atkins with florida strain.

I wish they would do this to Lake Poinsett now that it is drained.

If everyone who catches big bass keeps them, we'll end up with a lot of small, weak, timid bass. Big bass should be released. Strong genetics of big bass keep the species healthy, strong and aggressive. Shun the ego and greed, and release big bass.
