I keep saying it, but it’s kinda crazy that people actually thought there was gonna be a Switch that supported 4K. I know there were the rumors and reports, but still, it was always such an unrealistic expectation, and so many people were just totally convinced this was gonna happen.
This is why leakers are fucking stupid. They either make it seem so amazing, and then if what they leak comes out, there’s disappointment because it’s like “oh yeah I saw that in the leaks”. Or if the product doesn’t come out, there is disappointment because everyone was expecting that product. It’s just annoying tbh
Because people are so obsessed with the numbers but not that the game actually looks good. Why do you think Playstation and Xbox scream graphics back and forth and we push consoles to the point where they lag playing games.
Nintendo is really dragging their feet on this again. Not as bad as the Wii to Wii U obviously this Oled Switch is going to sell a lot. But if they actually made a Switch Pro instead with better hardware it would sell even more. They could be saving it for like 2024 or something to do a Switch 2 but eh. They’re comfortable not adding the changes that are desperately needed since they know the regular Switch, Lite, and now the Oled will continue to sell a lot.
justin thomas exactly that was my point they’re just coasting now since anything switch sells so they don’t have to do much work and changes to sell more.

If I was buying a switch for the first time, I'd get this.

It's kinda funny how most of the OLEDs changes are more geared towards handheld play... when that's what the Lite is supposed to be. The only thing that affects docked is the LAN port, but with how spotty NSO is it wont make too much of a difference.
The switch was never ment to be a wii u sucessor. In it's prototype design it was just the switch lite that had 3ds support. They desides to make it play on a tv since the machine was capable of being a home console as well and desides to ditch the 3ds support as to dissociate from the previous gen of system to become it's own thing. So it's literally a handheld first in their minds so they are upgrading the handheld side cause they never upgraded their home consoles and the dock is their home console. U see it was planed to just be a handheld and it shows.
I love your voice man it's so funny! It's very Donkey Kongish (and it also sounds like Squidward lol). If they ever make an animated Donkey Kong movie (which they are), you should either voice Swanky Kong (hence your profile pic), or Funky Kong (hence your voice would sound just like what Funky Kong would sound like, and more so than Swanky Kong actually).
Yeah, I don’t know how to feel about it. It’s not really groundbreaking nor exciting. It’s just a Switch with like three new tiny details and it really doesn’t justify its price to be $350. Well I hope Nintendo does better or at least do something to actually make me buy their console or anything really lol.

I personally think a switch 2 is coming out in like 2025 and it'll be on par with the Xbox series S and will just feature backwards compatibility with most switch games. That being my assumption, this is likely all we are getting between now and then and they'll likely phase out the standard switch for this over the next 2 years. I'll likely pick one of these up and when the switch life cycle comes to an end and keep it boxed as a replacement for my current switch as all hardware eventually breaks down and newer systems aren't lasting as long as anything pre ps2 era so it's smart to invest in back up hardware at the end of a system life cycle.

I’m relieved there isn’t a Pro. I really didn’t want to buy another Switch just to be able to play games at their best. Same reason I never got a PS4 Pro.
IMO having 4K on the switches screen is pointless. 4K is only good on large displays so having either a 1080p or 1440p screen would be better for a pro model
It is weird that Nintendo is both my fav company and that I also I hate them at the same time. they make so much less great games then they use to in the old days. I honestly don't get the hate for this announcement. It doesn't mean a stronger version of the Switch is now confirmed to never release. I get people want a stronger Switch, but what is there to hate on? We've been with this console for so long already, what's another year at this point? You all know that Nintendo disappoints hardcore fans when the hardcore fans get too thirsty and rely on leaks and rumors to give them hope, so why do it to yourselves now? I just don't see the point in getting upset. Especially when the games that sell best on Switch aren't in some unplayable state that absolutely requires a stronger Switch. There's no urgency for one and they know it.
I think the thing is that there are games that don't run well on Switch, especially when it comes to handheld mode. I can understand why people would want better hardware to run those games. I still think a Pro could happen, but probably not for another like 2 years, and by then the Switch will be knocking on death's door. @@UncleAlPlus The visual quality drops significantly for nearly all Switch games in handheld mode. But it's still not what would actually be considered literally unplayable. "I don't want to have to pay the most to get the best experience." Unless we're taking any DLC or features that are locked behind a paywall that don't need to be, I don't understand this mindset. If a game played better with better hardware for a more reasonable upping in price, would the base version somehow play worse? Like, how does a better verson's existence degrade the quality of the original? Unless they were priced the same, at which point, everyone could afford the same thing they could before?
I assume you were not around when the PS Pros, or 3DS improved versions come out? New games are designed with those specs in mind and often lag/barely function on the original. It can be abysmal at times. Just like when the next gen consoles come out but port their new games onto the old consoles.

At least the Switch Oled wins the worst name of any console award
"I don't want to have to pay the most to get the best experience."
Unless we're taking any DLC or features that are locked behind a paywall that don't need to be, I don't understand this mindset.
Hm
Saved myself $349.99. :)
I mean, unless your able to pay the cost of enjoying an OLED tv, why bother buying a Switch OLED anyway?
also thank god for not fixing the joycons so I don't have to buy the OLED model.
A harmless dissapointment, I guess. Just a minor revision and not much more.
Lol
Oh boy oh boy hey boy oh boy can't wait not to buy
The leaks probably caused the salt. Man, if I had fairies, I would wish that leaks and rumors would just vanish. (Get the Nickelodeon reference?)
Disappointing, glad I don't need to buy it, I don't go looking for rumors, and I finally beat everything as every character in Isaac
Only AB+ on that last bit because not PC Isaac
Remember when Nintendo had the high ground against SEGA in the console wars. Well Sony has the high ground against Nintendo.
*stares at people still having trouble getting PS5s and Switch still being the best selling console in America* Yeaaaah....sure.....
@@chibi2239 I meant the PS5 is better compared to the switch
@@lightanddarkbros6646 with its $70 games and also drifting controllers?
@@chibi2239 yep
Waste of hardware. Should have made it just a little more, you know, worth the money you know what I mean.
The switch lite is better
Looks like a huge waste of money to me lol.
Jesus why is everyone bitching about this you got a new switch how do you expect a handheld system to run games that work on Xboxes and Playstations
Disappointed but... Meh ..
