- Time for a race diffuser. it's a simple design diffuser with a large center section in the middle separated by diffuser strakes. Add a few vortex generators and the diffuser is done! • Building the Fastest. ... Here is where I build the fastest Clio.

Hahayou have been sucked into the slipery slope of fibreglass and carbon. Love it.
haha seems so!
Looking mean af from behind! Cant wait to see this tearing round the track :D
yeah looks purposeful! cant wait to test it all!
I slapped a diesel, because the video is too good.)))
Wow man you are an excellent craftsman. Made me totally rethink my approach to building a diffuser thanks!!
Glad I could help
This is amazing content man!
I’m glad I found your channel. I’ve been doing composites work since about 2002, but I still love to see people work with it. Definitely not enough composite videos out there. I’ve watched a few of your videos today and I love how you approach a problem/challenge and just get it done! Great work!
I appreciate that!
Man I love the aero stuff you are doing on this car. Very nice work. You are an inspiration for us other track idiots.
Thank you! I try
wow this looks amazing. exactly what i want for my 2018 Subaru STI. I love the Kevlar, stunning piece, great craftsmanship.
Thank you very much!
This channel is great, hope the algorithm catches it!
So do I😂. but comments like this certainly help! thanks
I love that plate 😂😂😂
😍 that looks so good on the car. Loving these episodes
Glad you like them!
13:10 neat to see the resin running
You are a freak of perfection - It would be approved for the road LoL, nice job again.
if you know the right people! yes yes it would. 😅
love it
Cheers
Really like this, just want to add it might help performance if your able to run the endplates/strakes closer to the ground to reduce tire wake from getting drawn into the diffuser. Love how you show it doesnt take alot of money to make a mold.
thanks for a great tip!
Great work!!
But with the slight curve to your diffuser and how gradual it is. I doubt you would of had any air attachment issues. But otherwise it’ll work great I think.
Hats off again mate. Seems nothing phasing you in the composite space now and even going deep on aero with vortices etc. Not too long now 🤞🏻 until we can witness the positive difference all these upgrades have made. 👍🏻
cheers mate! honestly can not wait!
Watching it again. Think im hooked
hahah i am going to send you my TOP FAN sticker in the post brother 😂
@@RuskiWeldFab haha ill wear it with pride
@@BEYTEK you're not the only one man!
ARgh. This is going to get messy, and expensive!
😂😂
@@TeamPrawnRacing you should watch that australian guy i mentioned to him. He makes full 1 peice front ends and stuff. Total diy. Wp04 somthing. V6 civic fibreglassing. An old guy but he gets ya hooked. Bye bye wallet
Tidy 😎👍
cheers!
Great job👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I am looking forward to this one!
me and you both haha. havent seen this one haha
Be great to see the wool tufts videos 👍
Coming soon!
That's awesome
glad you like it
Thanks for sharing your effective techniques. For testing, If you fit suspension height sensors, one on a front control arm, one on a rear, like those use on Audi, for instance to aim the xenon light bulb angle or any car with an airbag setup, you can data log the change in downforce at speed. The lower the car gets at any given speed, the more downforce you are generating. Useful for comparisons of the effects of changes. The height sensors have are nothing more that a rotary variable resistor switch with an arm instead of a knob. Constant signal voltage in, and a ground, yields variable voltage out depending on suspension movement. Perfect? no, low tire pressure can hide some of the downforce through tire bulge, but still for back to back runs while making tweaks for angle of attack, it could be useful.
Very nice
Thanks
I like your effort
Thanks
Good job mate
cheers! worked out alright hasnt it! now just need to test it!
@@RuskiWeldFab i m sure it gonna work nicely with ur flat bottom.
Looks mental in the rear, holy fuck!
oi!! language young man haha
looking good .it will be good to get my k24 honda engine n/a clio mk2 up against you on track
thanks! when is yours going to be finished?
great work mate, when do we make one for my cayman? hahah
Any time
Great work on the diffuser. Although I think your understanding of vortex generators is slightly off. (Edit. Corrected below)
Vortex generators create the 'vortex' by disturbing the laminar flow and detaching the boundary layer from the surface. Hence why they are normally found at the top rear of the roof - to *stop* the air flow following the rear window (where it would be creating lift). So I believe your positioning of vortex generators would lead to a reduction in the effectiveness of your diffuser.
thanks! i have a feeling you got it wrong yourself. here is a very good short video explaining it better. czcams.com/video/eP-YUDe9HF0/video.html
@@RuskiWeldFab well this is embarrassing. I've had to look back at my dissertation in aerodynamics from 2012 (yes, I literally wrote a book on this topic 😅🤦) and agree that my previous post is incorrect.
Whilst vortex generators can be designed and positioned to purposefully separate flow, your example should work well, good job 👍
thank you! you litteraly made me go back and start reading incase i made a mistake. thanks for your input! i hope it works. well if it doesnt i know how to fix it.
@@RuskiWeldFab haha sorry for the mild panic lol. I don't know what I was thinking 🤦 Hucho : aerodynamics of a road vehicle, is a useful book should you be interested. Unlike my dissertation, which having not looked at it for 9 years I'd forgotten how 'dry' it was 😅.
Hi, can I just ask. How do you determine the effectiveness of the aero you put on your car? Eg, do you do any tests to spot boundary layer separation?
Great point! a lot of it is guess work. with some help from aerodynamic gurus who are happy to help with advice. i have done some tuft testing in the past. but have no idea how to make anything of the data i get lol. plan is to scan the car and find someone to CFD it.
@@RuskiWeldFab I'm working on a 125cc kart atm. Just started with the rebuild after stripping and painting the frame. Once the kart is working properly I'm thinking of putting some aero on it.
I did my thesis in openfoam, so I'm planning on picking up on that knowledge. Probably still will take me a year or two to get to that point, but if you're still looking by then... 😜
What do you use to lay over the fibre so it don’t stick after vacuuming
peel ply. www.easycomposites.co.uk/peel-ply
@@RuskiWeldFab I’m doing chopped carbon fibre now lol used your peel ply with breathing cloth make my own vac bag to help and going ok lots of work Doing my front splitter and Iv just ordered back defused
Where did you get that carbon kevlar?
you mean the fabric? @easycomposites
When are the carbon wheels being made then??
here is an idea!
Where can i get the first difuser? 😱
You can make it. It’s not something you can buy unfortunately
wheel arch aero...
how you do the mold?
i made few videos on this subject
How much did this one cost?
The missus wants to know how much you've blown on your build 🤣
😂😂😂 she knows. Cheap track car... only about 500-600£ max
@@RuskiWeldFab £500-600 per video?
Do I have to dislike something? 🤷♂️
Okay. I dislike that you’re not building a Toyota bB/Scion xB 🤣🤣🤣
I dislike it too 😜
You skipped too much not a clue how it was really made
Awesome #becauseracecar thanks RuskiWeldshit 👍🔥💚
