Finally someone vidding Dasey with the full song! I always thought this song was perfect for them. I have to say there is a noticeable difference between the more modern filming of the movie compared to the single camera tv show. The color palette specifically. As someone that had done so many video edits over the years for this chaotic duo i'm curious about your thoughts on this.
Now the actual video. The evolution of their relationship. We love character growth! I like how you included some of these witty one liners where they took jabs at one another. It was so entertaining. Like yes sometimes it was taken too far but there was a playfulness and they were on equal playing fields. Casey making that comment about the landfill and he makes that photo copy jab at her. I think that's one of those underrated scenes I didn't pay much attention to before. This song choice with the scenes encapsulate their complicated relationship dynamic and conflicted emotions. That's it, that's the show. If someone never saw the show before they could just watch this video and get the picture. I try to imagine what it's like watching these videos with no prior context and I definitely think it speaks for itself. Idk im just rambling at this point. It's true though.
Just for info, it wasn't a single-camera TV show. Michael said on a BTS vid that it was a three cameras show (czcams.com/video/Hy3Aqu_uhCE/video.html starting at 5:20)

You make a really good point talking about equal playing fields. In my opinion, Derek is a bit of bully to her at the beginning. But she retaliates and she's excellent at it. Whenever she does, you can tell Derek admires and respects her for it. Over time, seething hatred turns into playful banter.
For your more technical question, I'm trying really hard to hope it won't make my videos look like patchwork. 😆 It's just always a bit of challenge, having different looking material when you want the video to look smooth. I'm thinking of adjusting colorings maybe.

I never actually watched this show and didn’t even know they made a reboot until now. I’ve just seen a few episodes of the show on tv years ago and even I could tell there was some serious chemistry between them

I keep coming back to this again and again especially after how disappointing life with Luca was...I mean I wasn't expecting a big romcom ending or whatever but...alot less subtext and more text this time, I guess. Your videos, however, hit me right in the feels and their journey over the years was so *perfectly* captured in this one.
P.S : I always thought their hug parallel was very reminiscent of the romione hug scene in chamber of secrets.

Call me whatever but i feel like they really should’ve ended up together. Like you cannot tell me they weren’t meant for each other. I felt like maybe in lwl they would take a risk and head to that direction but ofc they would not dare, it’s still a kids show after all. I feel like the whole thing is incomplete and the only good closure for this would be dasey finally admitting their feelings for each other. Maybe if they worked on something like the icarly reboot they could’ve done something like that, turning it into an adults show. This is all just my opinion btw please dont take it too seriously 😭
