    The best video I've seen on replacing the backup camera! Excellent to review the tools someone will need BEFORE they start in on the job as we all know how it sucks to get started and need to run to the store for something like a torx bit (you should update the list of tools btw). Your step by step is perfect as I just watched a video that just ran through the camera replacement and pointed to where the bolts/screws/torx are located - yeah, good luck with that. Thanks again, subscribed to your channel, appreciate content like this greatly! (BTW, thx for video sans music.)

    I saw you link this video on Reddit and finally bit the bullet to try to find a solution to the dreaded "Return to Dealer" error message that plagued me for years.
    I was able to perform the replacement on my 2014 in about 1 hour with the caveat that I broke the two exterior screw housings when I made the final yank of the housing off the rear of the car. I am still not sure how you were able to remove the housing so cleanly but I am still incredibly happy with the improvement.

    Thanks Bob. Followed your step by step process to replace my bad camera on my 2016 Fusion Titanium . Saved myself tons of cash & time. I also used the link to Amazon to order part. I was able to swap it out in less than an hour. The end results are positive. The wife is happy…”Happy Wife, Happy Life” 😄😄

    For all those that have a 2013 Ford Fusion and want a Ford OEM camera, the camera from the MKZ can also be used in the Fusion as well (per Ford). Much cheaper also. Ford Part# EP5Z-19G490-A. Most sites only list the Ford # ES7Z-19G490-A as the only option for Fusions. An aftermarket option is TRQ brand Part# ADA05221.(these all have the green/yellow/red boxes and guidelines) Hope this helps.

    Bob thanks for this video. I actually have a 2013 Fusion SE but the instructions you provided here worked perfectly for me. I bought a good quality camera on Amazon for $60. The dealership quoted me $620 for the part (yes, that is not a misprint!). Then there would have been labor on top of that! In about 1.5 hours, I followed your instructions and had the camera replaced! Thanks for this great tutorial!

      It’s comparable to all the other cameras I would assume the QC may not be as good but who’s knows nowadays. I’m sure they are all being made out of the same factory..

    This was probably one of the most in-depth helpful guides for us Fusion/MKZ owners who have this issue.
    I drive a 2013 Lincoln MKZh while its mostly the same car as a Fusion the body panels can be different. Would installation be similar?
    Also did you have to configure the new camera with your MyFord system?

    • @Bobsgaragetech
      @Bobsgaragetech  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I’m sure installation is similar, that being said I have never done one so I would have to look at it and see what’s different if anything.
      This camera was plug and play I have never heard or had to program a camera in the handful of cameras repairs I have done.

    Thanks Bob. I replaced mine with the exact one you have but my camera isn't centered. Is there any way to correct this?

    • @Bobsgaragetech
      @Bobsgaragetech  Před 5 měsíci

      I have no idea without looking at it to see exactly what it is doing. Some things to check. 1. Make sure it is fully seated in the camera bezel. 2. Make sure the camera hold down is also fully seated and screwed back down. 3. Second does the camera look different or damaged compared to the camera removed. 4. Maybe try returning the camera to Amazon and getting a new camera.
      If this all doesn’t fix the issue it may need to be looked at by a professional technician to diagnose further.
      Thanks again!! 🙏🙏

      No idea, that is a crazy symptom something is telling the radio to switch on the video feed. Could be the wrong camera? My recommendation is to pull that camera back out so you can have your radio back. You may need someone to professionally diagnose the issue.

    Thanks for the great video! What would you consider a reasonable price if I were to have a workshop do it?

    • @Bobsgaragetech
      @Bobsgaragetech  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Honestly it depends on what the book time is to replace the camera. If the book time says 1.5hr labor than your paying their labor rate for 1.5hrs. Hold the shop to the book time. Get a couple quotes so you know you’re getting a fair price.
