I was born there.. lived in albrighton until late 80s..whats is like now then? Thinking of moving back with work..I hear mixed stories. Sounds like 3rd world in some areas but fine in others
Thankyou for uploading this - I would have been 18 months old at the time but this Wolverhampton is far more familiar to me than it is now and I do have some very foggy memories of 1990 and 1991. God bless you. Videos like this are all I have left of good times.
Wonder if anyone recognises themselves. It was so busy then. Lovely seeing Woolworths. You had to shop then, no internet. It was lovely seeing Mander centre fully dressed up, this started to lesson as the years went by. Maybe the owners charged too much for the sites.
Remember those displays, they must have been magical for children, put you in the Christmas mood. Shopping on line not for me , like to try clothes on and feel the material. 👋👍
I REMEMBER ALL THIS LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY. THE MANDER CENTRE WAS JUST A HIVE OF ACTIVITY BACK THEN! IT'S A SHELL OF IT'S FORMER SELF NOW. GOOD MEMORIES.
Shopping centre moving displays were the best. Our local place had it every year, and I remember it being magical late 80s, early 90s. It was exciting to go shopping at Xmas back then. You could feel it.
Mate I answer that internet shopping and stupid prices for shop premises internet shopping is crap you never get the right stuff instead of spending money in London what about the rest of the country you only can the city better with money which doesn't grow on trees very sad but its life unfortunately😊😊😊
Don't know the area but everywhere is diffent...missablle....there's too many people in a tiny country called great britton which was not called that for a reason. Everyone loves great britton so now it's gone down in every town I'm the UK....but I still love my country.but and there's a lot of buts...
Magical,people were nicer back then.
I was 18 back then. I remember when Wolvo was like this... shops that were open, loads of people. Good times.
Wolverhampton was the best place in the Midlands, now it's like living on another planet...

Wolverhampton is like a ghost town nowadays, even on a Saturday.
I think the global pandemic might be having an influence on that…
Like every town this size across the UK.
Brings back lovely childhood memories.
This video made me happy and sad 😭

This looks better there than wolves today lol wish I could go back to this time
I worked in mills fruiterers in the gallery in 92,if any of the girls who worked there at that time are reading this,it was a pleasure 👋🏼

I was 2 at the time. Used to love visiting my grandparents around Christmas time and can remember the lights above the streets.
I always travelled from my home in Stourbridge to shop in Wolvo, such happy times.
Thank you for uploading these videos! It's nice to see how it was before I was born ☺️ I was 1995!
Good times. So sad how everything has fallen.

Wow, Wolves has gone right down the crapper... what happened?!
Lack of investment and poor social engineering.

Happier times I think.
Thank you
Internet has killed shopping centers. sadly best memories ever 😭😭😭😭
Love Christmas love Wolverhampton
This was my childhood!
When the mander centre was the place to be on a Saturday
Brilliant childhood memories. What a horrible place it’s become
Is it that bad? Or is it just the centre. Places like tettenhall Cosford codsall albrighton still nice..albeit they are outside centre
Sadly I missed this Wolverhampton. I was in the east Midlands back then. 2007 I came over the border.
😭😭😭what's happened it's not just here it's everywhere 😭😭
Scary nearly thirty years old...

Towns and cities were better in the late 20th century since the 21st century began its all gone pear shaped
The 20th century !!
Wow
no Amazon shops busy and a good vibes

The days before on line shopping had even been invented
Were real magical Christmas then unlike now, killed by greed money spinners
