Would you make it to the top?
One answer nope
just take the train, less effort.
Yes, it's straight juggin.
Easy
@@MythAvatar it always looks that way doesn’t it.
I'd find speed climbing way more interesting if it was a brand new route each competition that the two competitors had to read briefly and then race on identical copies of.
Look up psychoblock, that's kinds of what you mean! It's super cool
They may have to once the time to complete gets so close together. Although sprinting hasn't had to change their route much
That's what lead is, just harder
Arco rockmaster is what you're thinking of for lead and psicobloc is just like what is shown in the video.
A climber having to learn a route through reading won't work out well though. I would be more interested in a wall with many possible routes and its up to the climbers to find their own fastest one
Bonus points for the 1990s VHS commentator voice over. 🤣🤙🏻
Next time don't introduce Sharma as the red bull creepers 2014 champion
"the American will have to try again next year for a chance to reclaim his crown" oh, really? ...
@@ikkoichigo Do you know who this is?
@@jordanheller1151 do you know what sarcasm is?
I agreed with your comment and upvoted it. In my comment I just highlighted another riddiculous statement ("The American"), but I guess he will be back next year, because RB pays him lots.
We were so psyched to provide the holds for this year. The route and event looked amazing! Great work climbers and organizers!
Former Redbull Champion Chris Sharma... Like referring to former Birmingham Barons Minor League Baseball player Michael Jordan.
"Historic bridges..."
Drills a bunch of holes in it to attach the holds.
Thats what I was thinking!🤣
Its not one of the many Roman bridges - But yes it is very old and built of sandstone. A beautiful example of post industrial age architecture.
They should find a concrete bridge to drill holes in next time.
Yeah. Why would they allow that?
@@perperson199 In my eyes old things like this should be used rather than just preserved. Sure, don't do this if it means the bridge will collapse, but this event will clearly have been thought through, and I'm sure it won't leave lasting impact. Plus, as the competitors said, this makes the event much cooler visually than if they used a concrete bridge.
Its Europe - we have literally tens of thousands of them. And they are living structures - they constantly need repair. Honestly its no big deal.
GET US ON THIS! pls
Aye, I second this!
Third this
4th
5th
69th
Just realized the routes are not the same. They're asymmetric. The same hold grabbed with one hand on one route would be grabbed with the other on the opposite route. A right or left hand dominant climber would have an advantage depending on if the water is on his right or left, wouldn't they?
word
I mean yeah, but even through this is a competition it seems to be mostly for fun
For sure it definitely has some small effect. But I do think that climbing tends towards more even strength than say tennis or baseball. When climbing you need to use the arm that you need to use, you don't get to choose most of the time.
Wich isnt a bad thing, it adds to the competition. Its not going to have a crazy effect.
The left side won... LOL
This is so intense and hard . Really good fun to watch .
man, upgrade that trophy, looks like a middle school art project
That's redbull for you, it's just their drinks promotion event not a proper championship
It goes perfectly with the idiot music!
Fun Fact: that Jesus looking guy "the defending champion" Chris Sharma is probably the most influential climber in history and by many the greatest one
Imho, Tommy Caldwell is the GOAT, but Chris is definitely up there. It definitely felt like he was here to have fun and wasn’t really pushing himself.
Sharma was one of the greatest along with the Huber Brothers and Güllich but i think Ondra, Megos and maybe Ghisolfi have already passed them. Of course it‘s difficult to compare different generations.
@@giacomocasanova2893 it’s kind of an ever continuing thing. Just so many good climbers over the last 50-60 years. I mean Fred beckey wrote the book on a lot of sport climbing and such. So many awesome people in this sport!
@@DreIsGoneFission there is no comparisson between Caldwell and Sharma in terms of influentiality or climbing history... It seems to me that you don't really know who this guys are and you just watched The Dawn Wall
Fun fact: everyone knows who Chris is. Stop pointing out the obvious.
The routes are not identical, they are mirrored.
They weren't constructed very precisely either, I can spot some differences in spacing.
Yep
Yea but you should train to be ambi when climbing.
It's unlikely that the bridge will be identically mirrored either, willing to bet one side will have a cheeky foot hold the other does not etc. Still pretty cool to just have something different going on imo and the climbers seem to enjoy it.
As long as it's completely random who gets what side then its "fair". Plus the winner of the competition won the quarters on one side and the final on the other.
Finally I’ve been waiting for some good footage of this event!
The coolest climbing event I’ve ever seen
I love Red Bull for this kind of stuff! Keep it up boys!
Damn that is rad, never heard of it, but it looks insane!
Win or lose, I would choose to just drop into the water.
Yeah, cool event but weird feature
@@nicolasjeannet1063 It’s part of the fun. The water makes for a natural shock absorber.
Seriously - such a bucket list
Thanks for the video. We need like this 💗
you're welcome Chez
thanks redbull for supporting the climbing sport so much !
Most sports for me, are uninteresting, but I love watching climbing. I also love watching mt biking, so perhaps because I have done both, raced mt biking, only indoor climbed its interesting!!
I love that redbull just pays for awesome stuff like this
me encanto el video. iniciativas como estas se deberían hacer por toda España
Amazing and cool ! I would just jump into the water anyway 😂
Hi
Red Bull I just want to say I love your company and I love all the events y'all put on 😊
*THAT* was about 100 X more interesting than I expected...
Mama Kruder must be proud
Just Slovenian things...
This is magnificent.
Bravo mojster, čestitam.
wow! siblings power! 💪
Climbing is so fun!
Is it possible to watch the full event?
Are you guys going to keep the route up
that looked hella fun
so cool!!
STRAIGHT JUGGING FROM BOTTOM TO TOP
i had no idea sharma competed

@@sadmermaid Angie Scarth-Johnson
Crazy, nice scenery, ggz
Honestly looks fun tho (yes even if u the one compete cause u love it)
Do they get to choose which side they go on...? Looks awesome 👌
Cool that brother and sister were both champions
honestly, body goals, all of em
Oh my my favorite yotube chanel
AMAZINGGG!!!!!!
Coole Sache 😎💪
Turn it down to a 5.9 and I'm hella in there. Looks like a blast.
"Always feels good to be the winner of a competition. .." I had a hunch this would be the case...lol
which is it more of, a deep water solo, or a speed climb?
Don't know about climbing but that jump looks dope
Anyone else notice the unintentional moon @ 4:12?
how are these handles sticked so tightly to the bridge?
Beautiful location.
Hot climbers!
How to be sure both paths are exactly the same ? I can't help thinkink in parallel giant slalom there is always a better side.. ⛷️
This event is about speed. And knowing how to swim.
Hi what is the climbing stone’s brand ? Thank you !
They are Kilter! ❤️
Anyone know the brand of black training hangers they are warming up on?
I have the same question!
I bet more hands were sweaty watching this video than the actual event.
awesome stuff. in general id enjoy giving that a shot, makng it to the top. most likely not lols
Next year you should make it go under the bridge too so they can try and make it all the way across.
Que buen video
Так классно
Dejarán la ruta para poderla escalar??
This is so crazy 😧😧😧
Let’s go this looks great
So cool
Too short. Would love a longer coverage
FUN!!!!
That's 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is more about speed than difficulty. Not the 'hardest' in any sense.
its 7c/v9
@@criminallyretarded6312 ahaha that's not how it works - sport and boulder grades are different. This is 7c route grade so probably around V6 difficulty moves but for a longer duration
@@jasperray6576 yes grades are fake you are correct
I wanna try just dont count on getting to or past thr first hold
Would love to see Chris Sharna and Rodney Mullen meet!
I want to participate. i'd love this.
Make Max and Checo do this
Hell yeah
*Red Bull Cliff Diving v2*
Of course red bull ahead of me financially mentally funding events of whom ever press that lope
Ah man!
Well now I’ve heard of it
Highlight: 1:50
Cool
Creeper? Awww man!
nice
How do one join this sport?
Gokil sih
The water though.... ugh... 🤢
... is the climb out of the friend zone.
Looks dangerous
Make tsunoda do that
I came because of Nile red of you saying it’s impossible to extract the caffeine out of it ;-;
But the right side is easier for right handers so it's not fair.
Vertical walls are usually hard to climb, due to the scarcity of grip spots.
Why is it so half assed? I mean, They could at least have made the routes identical. And what Grade is it? Cool consept tho!
Just for se lling one drink
Awesome 👌🆒️🙌
😬😬😬
Omg they are spiderman
Name of the first song ?
I’ve never heard of any. So this is true.
Kruder=Climbing monster
Where is that magnus guy lol
No one commenting on the background at 4:12 then
We need to see Magnus do this
I’m not scared of the climbing, I’m more afraid being inside that murky dark water…
