The SlimeMobile team aims to enhance bus transit through the use of slime mold. When placed in a detailed 3D model of the city of Berkeley, the slime mold maneuvers around buildings and other obstacles to create the most efficient links to and from its food sources, which are strategically positioned to represent bus stops. This innovative approach demonstrates the potential for biological organisms to inform and improve public transportation planning.
