Remember that as of this year the engines must be more durable. So probably many cars came to Abu Dhabi with no spares left or they would be penalised.

For the people asking what it is. Antistall is used when getting away from the lights and you have too low revs it automatically puts the car in neutral to make the car not stall.

That crash looked far more spectacular than it actually was. It was absolutely sure that he didn't hurt himself at all...
Yup, 10/10 form and style. But the scary part was that he couldn't get out and there was a bit of fire...
The scary part (and where I freaked out) was when the fire came and marshals were still far away from the scene
But the car caught fire and he was stuck that was scary

I have seen a fair share of scary accidents this season, from Ericsson's DRS failure in Italy to Hartley's shunt in Britain. To see Hulkenberg roll over like that when he clearly didn't see Grosjean and to wind up upside down against the barrier and on fire in some retrospect as well...so glad to know he is all right!

i believed it was a racing incident. grosjean really cannot risk climbing the high kerb nor he can go to the right to avoid it or else he spins. hulk gave space but took it back in the corner maybe he thought he passed grosjean.

looks like the halo could potentially trap drivers inside an inferno.
The risk of an inferno is lower nowadays than the risk of loose bodywork, so its introduction is justified.
Except fires and explosions are not as prevalent or common as before but yes, definitely a talking point for the future of the halo.

The fact he couldn’t get out of the car until they flipped it back over scared me. If that car had seriously burst into flames there’s no telling what would’ve happened. The halo has been a good improvement but, wow they need to work something out.

Not a chance. There's no reason that he should go off the track more. He was pushed wide and then turned in on like he didn't exist. Dumb but of driving by the Hulk there... More so as he does have mirrors and would clearly have seen he was still there
There’s a big kerb which prevented Grosjean aborting that corner.
One of the cars hit a kerb later in the race (possibly Grosjean) and the car had all 4 wheels in the air!
If Grosjean had left the track before the corner, he probably would have gained 3 or 4 places, then ended up with an unfair advantage over other cars, and ultimately a penalty.

The halo was simply a knee-jerk reaction to Jules Bianchi's freak accident (turns out halo wouldn't have even saved Jules). One day when a driver gets cooked alive in the cockpit because he's trapped the FIA will knee-jerk again and scrap it.

@@henrywhatzal4724 No it has not. Everyone with half a brain (including all the F1 teams I might add) knows the halo did nothing to help Charles in Spa. Just look at the crash. Just because a tyre impacts against the halo, two meters from Charles' head, when its trajectory was already moving away from the cockpit doesn't mean its "proven useful".
That hit is more efficient than in videos games XD
Glad Hulkenberg is ok. For better or worse I foresee full or partial wheel fenders like in 2019 Formula E or Indycar being added to prevent wheel contact accidents like this.

Gseric47 I’m not sure they do...? Parts of the car now resist fire a lot more than they did in the past (like the fuel tank), but I don’t think they have extinguishers on board.
It’s the marshalls that have them and have to get to the car in time!
